I got this game becuase it caught my eye and it was .... It is awsome! The graphics are great, the controls are easy to learn, and the explosions make you feel as though your in the game! Weather you control the Arm or the Core, you control over seventy-five units (including buildings). Thats over 150 units. The terrian was realistic, but I felt it didn't affect the units as much as it should. The music is good, but when the game is changing the track, it can pause the game for a minute or so, and annoy you greatly. I also wish it was more addictive. All in all, they game is great and ... has it at a great price. Buy this game, or your computer will not be happy!

This must be one of the best games of all time. There are so many different things you can do with it. So many different stragies for conquering the oppent. So many units, maps, and maps and units that can be downloaded off the internet. I'm obsessed with it. its so fun. Just some times the AI becomes a bit boring because of its "not knowing what to do" Still the maps have so much detail allowing for many different land, air and, sea attack stratgies. The expansion packs and the game just must be haved. I definately recommend it!! Happy Gaming!!!!
It's the best Robot Game ever.

Dear fans:
I had this game since 1998, and I am still playing it, now. I guess you must think I am bored of it, but actually I am not. I used to download new patches from Internet and that's how it kept me to play for a long time.
The graphic of the game is exellent! Try it if you don't believe me because it's made 4 year ago.
Probably one of the best RTS games to date

My brother convinced me to buy this game. I was skeptical at first, thinking "Oh No, not ANOTHER boring RTS!" How wrong I was. While the engine does have its quirks, the games mechanics run like a dream! It's easy to get up and running without a lot of tutorials or anything that difficult. The sounds of the different units I think are the most fun. By any stretch, if you enjoy RTS games you would probably like this game. I would say it's in the top 5 RTS games since the birth of the genre. Purchase it NOW!!!
THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER RTS GAME LIKE THIS

This is the MOST fun and BEST RTS game avaliable. It beats Starcraft, Homeworld and Warcraft by a mile. Those three games can't even BEGIN to compare with Total Annihilation.
You play this game and you will never lose or win in the same manner. This game is a true war game in which you have to coordinate your forces based on how the computer or opponent. you play against on the internet. There is no one way of win or lose in this game.
As much sci-fi based this game is, it is also EXTREMELY realistic in terms of war tactics and the like.
Yes this game came out during the holiday season of 1997. It is now almost 6 YEARS AND THERE IS YET....I STRESS YET ANY OTHER RTS GAME THAT CAN MATCH THE FUN, QUALITY AND STRATEGIC VALUE THIS GAME PROVIDES THE SERIOUS RTS GAMER...PERIOD, PERIOD, PERIOD. There will never be another RTS game like it.

Real Time strategy with realistic terrain and ballistics. Better than Starcraft.

This is hands-down the best real-time strategy game ever and could even rival the brilliant turn-based Jagged Alliance 2 for best strategy game ever.
Normally i despise games with no plot. I consider them shameless money-makers for studios too busy to come up with a plausible story line. Here, however, I have no complaints. Not only was I satisfied with the opening movie's lackluster explanation of the 1000 years of total war, i endorsed it. The combatants are machines, what plausible storyline could encompass a battle on a million worlds between two robot armies. I'll take two armies completely bent on the other's destruction.
The gameplay takes computer-battle to a new level. Infantry, tanks, mobile artillery and rocket launchers, battleships and aircraft carrier, spy planes and bombers: there are literally scores of units available at your disposal for the destruction of the enemy. Looking brilliant, sounding wonderful, fighting ferociously, the game's title of Total Annihilation is well earned. I have played skirmishes that lasted for over 24 hours (the game thankfully allows you to save your skirmishes, something not done much in strategy games), and my devotion to one side kept me awake for long nights playing the campaigns too. It seems inconceivable that there could be people who didn't or don't like this game. The battlefields are also incredibly diverse, from lush forests (that can be set alight!) to metal wastelands to barren lunar landscapes.
I can't reccomend any game aside from Half-Life more highly. 10/10
Total Annihilation ... still the best

Almost three years after its original release, TA is *still* the best RTS game ever made. So many of its most fundamental ideas, like infinite build-queues, infinite order queues, and simple but effective patrol waypoints, have still not been incorporated into newer games. Like chess, Total Annihilation takes minutes to learn and years to master. TA features realistic physics, strategic depth beyond the simple quick-click contests, and well-balanced robot, vehicle, air, sea, and hover units.
What's less well-known is that TA also has a third-party community that's *still* alive and well and producing new units, maps, mods, TCs, and thousands of posts of discussion every week. TA is to RTS games what Doom is to FPS ... a true classic.
Total Annihilation is awsome!

Man, this game is cool. When I am finished, there isn't a single arm unit on the map. The single player campain is okay, the first missions are ridiculously easy and the ending missions are nearly impossible. The best part of the game is the skirmish vs the computer, were you get to slug it out with the computer without difficult mission objectives. Some times if I am feeling genorous, I'll build quick army and stomp any resistance on the other side of the map. I played this game for months and then it broke! Oh, I almost forgot to mention the music. It was incredible! My favorate song is battle number 5.
