It's great! I'm addicted.

Haven't had a person around to play Scrabble with in years and miss having a GOOD game. You can set the levels from Novice to Tournament or anything in between with the Custom feature.

The online dictionary is handy (even though technically it shouldn't be used during play). You can hit a button to "define last" when the computer plays a word you're not familiar with. Other features include a list of "q" words without "u" and online help you can use based on the letters on your rack. I never use this because it's like cheating.

I'm enjoying it very much and got one for my mother as well. Haven't gone to play on Internet yet but may pursue that as well.

I have played Scrabble, the board game, for years and was really excited to begin playing the first Scrabble CD. I ventured to the MSN Gaming Zone and had more fun! Then someone online mentioned something about Scrabble 2.0, so I ordered it. Wow! Outstanding graphics, the tiles "click" just like the ones you hold in your hand, very well laid out with lots of accessories and provides a variety of interaction. While online, you can add emoticons and sounds! Lots of fun!

Excellent computer remake of the original boardgame

This game is terrific. I love being able to play against others online. That feature basically just makes this whole game worth while to me. For a game like Scrabble this has very good graphics. The dictionary feature is very useful as well.

This is a great game for those rainy days, and where i live there are a lot of them :)

I am one of those Scrabble players that wants to keep playing and playing, even when my fellow human players are sick of it. That's where a computer player comes in. I've played five or six games in a row against the computer.

The game is much improved from the first version, with cleaner graphics and better playing levels. Also, you can choose to play against as many as three computer players. I've found that playing this game has really helped me improve my Scrabble strategies, and my scores have increased steadily.

One feature I really like about this game is the statistics it keeps. You can see your Scrabble rating, and compare that with the official Scrabble levels. The game keeps other statistics, such as your number of wins, winning percentage, highest game, highest single play, and it breaks down your statistics according to one-person, two-person, three-person, or four-person games, as well as tournaments (timed matches).

This new, update version of Scrabble on CD-ROM is as entertaining as its' boardgame equivalent. Providing challenges that even the most professional players will find challenging, Scrabble 2 is a great to kill free time or develop your vocabulary skills.

The addition of a dictionary, in addition to the games screen views only adds to the excitement that the boardgames lacks when it comes to design and usefulness. The people at Hasbro have done it again, and I am totally elated that they decided to release this updated version on CD-ROM.

So if you are a single player in look for some major competition, or want to compete with a friend online, Scrabble 2 is your guarantee for an entertaining time. Add this to your shopping basket today, and see what I am raving about.

Scrabble 2 could do better!

Fair enough, Scrabble 2's got all the 3D features, sounds effects, games review etc., but the question players should be asking themselves is "what dictionary is the software based on?" Anyone who plays championship scrabble and has been to tournaments will agree with me that basing the software only on Websters OSPD isn't sufficicient; What of Chamber's Official Scrabble Word (OSW)??, What about other players dictionaries acceptable in Scrabble tournaments worldwide? I was a lot disappointed with Scrabble 2 while playing the Champion level to discover it doesn't recognise many playable scrabble words.

Probably in the next version, Scrabble2 needs to be updated and equipped with these features to bring it to the same level of ratings as some current professional Chess softwares.

Scrabble 2 makes the first version look prehistoric in comparison. The new version has sound effects, selection of jazz tunes, animated Maven (computer opponent and Judge), optional board styles, a dictionary and suggestion lists. I never wanted to play the original board game but now I do and its a lot of fun. Great game for kids and adults. You will definitely learn some new words. Scrabble is finally fun! Definitely get this one, dont make the mistake of buying the first version, unless you still have Windows 95. It is slow and you must change color displays if you have 98. If your into word games, you must own this!

Fun, but know what you want!

I love scrabble and this is a great way to play alone or against the computer. There's a wide range of skill levels for Maven (the computer). The mini "games" are really just ways to practice and polish your skills. They don't take as long and it's a nice change of pace. I was disappointed to find out that this game can't be played through E-mail, which is what I wanted. Only after I opened it, I found out that there's an E-mail Scrabble.

Doesn't Work with Windows Me

I expected to play Scrabble on the Scrabble, but instead I had to brush my browser arrow all over the screen, like a window cleaner, to get it to change. Then when I finally did get the scrabble board, part of it was hidden off the top of the screen. Hasbro advised that my Dell Celeron 3800 was sufficient for the job, but maybe the Windows Me doesn't quite fit Scrabble 2. I regretfully had to send it back. So if you have Windows Me, be prepared to be disappointed.

Totally Addictive!

I received this game as a birthday gift in August and not a day has gone by since then that I haven't played it. I was already a HUGE Scrabble player, but now I am totally 100% addicted. This game has greatly improved my skill and I love that I can increase the skill level as needed. I also like that I do not have to have anyone else to play with, but can just play against the computer. When I do play with other people now it is so much nicer playing on the computer - you never have to worry about missing tiles or cleaning up the tiles after you are finished. I was confident that this would be my last Scrabble purchase, but now that there is a new hand held Scrabble game I am not so sure...
