Excellent computer remake of the original boardgame

This game is terrific. I love being able to play against others online. That feature basically just makes this whole game worth while to me. For a game like Scrabble this has very good graphics. The dictionary feature is very useful as well.

This is a great game for those rainy days, and where i live there are a lot of them :)

zip tech support

I had enjoyed an earlier version of this game and given it to a friend. I was looking forward to this new version, could load it, but when I tried to play, the computer froze. The tech support number (not a toll-free call), apparently (the operator checked--no conversation) takes their phone off the hook during 'operating hours' and gives instructions via robotic recording during other hours. E-mail was minimally responded to--acknowledged, that's all. I have long distance phone charges and shipping charges to pay for returning this game that probably was defective to begin with. I won't buy another Hasbro product.

The More Complete Version

Excellent version. Great graphics and animations. A feature I truly enjoy is being able to place "Maven" on the screen. Although, the animated "Maven" may be a bit repetitive, the "artificial intelligence" allows for hours of good game fun and company. I had not played Scrabble in years. When I borrowed this version from my sister, I became addicted all over again. When the time came for me to purchase my own, I opted for the newest version "Scrabble Complete." It was a mistake, in my opinion, this is the more complete version for hours of crossword fun.

This by far the best board-turned computer game on the market
The sound effects, graphics, backrounds, music, dictionary-
ALL PERFECT!
Except for one thing:

While in game play there is a menu, select the guides icon will
show the highest possible word currently available for use, you will find if use this even once you will be unable to stop, and the game will have the value of horse poop. The good thing is that this is not an option in tournement mode.
Hasbro has done it again, but please in future itterations, remove the frick'in cheat.

Once you get the game to play, this maybe the best translation of a board game to the PC. Game play is good, and as a long-time scrabble player, it is really convienent not to have to look for pieces and draw tiles manually. Plus being able to save games in progress.

One word of warning: If you have trouble clicking to start menus (like I did), turn off your main word processor program before you load and run Scrabble. That helpful hint came from the Hasbro web page FAQ. In addition, they have patches and upgrades available. After having returned games twice to the store, I discovered this trick and I didn't have to run the mouse over the screen to erase the old menu to get to the new one.

All in all, Hasbro does a really good job translating their board games on to the PC. I recommend that if you enjoyed the board games, you'll love the PC versions.

Does NOT work with Windows ME

Great, great game. But it does not work with Windows Millennium. And as others have said, tech support is abysmal. Scrabble is great, but Hasbro Interactive should be bankrupt.

Hasbro is the pits.

Why does Hasbro not make the board twice as large and get rid of all the lousy back space, dilled with inane night scenes, and other fantasy art, and give us a bigger board?

I had an earlier version of this game, but the newest version has a lot more bells and whistles, my wife and I love to compete!
