Don't buy this unless they fix the problems! Can't even start a game. it just freezes. Obviously, released before it was finished. Piece of junk.

Bought this game with great expectations only to be terribly disappointed. This game is absolutely horrid!!! It is not even in the same league as Far Cry. The the missions suck, the gameplay sucks, the interface sucks and even the graphics suck on a 5900 Ultra. PacMan on an Atari is better than this.

This game is lame. The graphics are poor. But the worst part is the temporary freezes. My computer meets or far exceeds the requirments listed in the game information but is unable to make this game work. My video card is the exact card listed on the box,the drivers are up to date. The fact is this game just does not work.

If you do not have a good system it is not the gaming company's fault. Upgrade your pc so that you can play it. The technology these days is so much more advanced than it was a few years ago or even 1 year ago, that you need to upgrade your video card and possibly your memory. I have had my pc for 7 months(heres my stats)

radeon 9200 128MB
Those are my stats which are good, except for my awful video card wich i am planning on upgrading to a 9800 pro soon. The thing is, if you want to keep up with the gaming world, your computer also has to be able to keep up with the gaming world. If you are looking for an amzing first person war game then look no further because this is the best one on the market right now. There are also few games that have better graphics than this game (the main one being UT 2004)....so if you ask me...its probably time for an upgrade to a better video card and a maybe some more memory anyway, so buy this game and play the S**T out of it because it rocks!!!!!!!!1

My dad, being a Vietnam Vet, when i showed him the tralier to this game said, this might be one video game he may be willing to play. He says from the screens and the trailer, its kida like what he really went through during Vietnam. Cant wait for this kick ass game.

I just get no enjoyment from this game.

I liked BF-1942 a good deal but this one is not a good vietman game. If you want a good vietman game, try "Vietcong-Purple Haze".

This game rocks!!!!!!! not only is the ground soldier part great, but you can also fly helicopter gunships, helicopter transports, jets, jeeps, and more.
There are many realisic guns on there to like, M60's, AK47's, M16's, SKS's, M14's, LAW's and much more.
You can give your men orders too. I also warn you, the computer controled soldiers on the game are some of the stupidest retards on the face of the planet, the best thing you can tell them to do is hold there ground, otherwise they will end up shooting you in the back and then screaming something like, "are you working for the Kong, boy???" or they will jump out of the chopper while your still siting in it. They are real stupid.
The best thing about this game is the freedom, the head boss might say somethig like, "capture these 3 base, heres a load of jets, choppers, boats and guns. Go Go Go Go!!!!!!!!!!"

It ROCKS!!!!!!!!

Battlefield 1942(+expansions) were the most amazing games i have ever seen!!!! Now this is out and it is even better!!!!I have decent stats (athlon XP 3000+, 512 ram, radeon 9600xt) and i can run this game on full graphics with awesome speed (no lag) and everything is crystal clear...the only reason some people had trouble with playing this game on good graphics is because it requires a good computer and an good, 128 MB video card. That is just what this game was made for. So if you ask me, this game is amazing and probably the best 1st person long-distance war game out there now.

People who complain about lag and compare it to BF42 must be blind as to the fact that it has at least 50x the vegetation of bf42, and much better quality of graphics. The lag i experienced in the game (note: i have barely the recommended comp) was usually connected to certain weapons, like the NVA m19/30 sniper rifle. it lags so bad i cant move, then i switch to my pistol or look through the scope and lag stops.As in BF42 the offline play is a joke.

The rest of the game is excellent. The graphics are great, in urban levels a good 80% of the buildings are enterable, the vegetation is very thick in some areas allowing for sniper/ mortar fire to remain covered, you can customize your soldier to a degree (8 choices at most), movable spawn points, and a great number of new vehicles such as jets, HELICOPTERS, MOPEDS, and amphibious vehicles. The creators averted one of the biggest fears of the gamers pregame, the concern that the helicopter winch to pick up vehicles would be used involuntarily, by allowing the driver to cancel by moving.

The only other real problem i have with the game is that people that cant fly the helicopters just LOVE to take them and flip them trying to pick up random things that dont need to be airlifted. If you try to take the helicopters to airbus people the people who were in the helos complain and throw a fit. Leave it to the people who learned to fly the helicopters in the Desert Combat mod! Hopefully in the next patch they will either make the helicopters easier or harder to fly to prevent that.

Great Game but With Problems

This is a great game. I only have a BF 1942 Demo with only one map but this game is much better. EA does have a patch for the laggy gameplay but you have to enter the code yourself (it isnt really that hard, you do it with notepad)but that only clears up only 75% of the lag. NOTE: I am running this on a system with 2.6 P4 HT Technology, 1 GB RAM, and a 9600 video card. It is a souped up Gateway 500 XL for which I paid $3000 for in the summer of 2003. This game also has minor multiplayer problmes like it is very hard to chsnge from the NVA to the US Army. Sometimes it gets annoying. It is also very hard to find a server that a friend created with its own built in server lobby. I have to use Gamespy. I would recomend waiting a month or so to get this game when most of the bugs are fixed. (I bought this game the day it came out---bad idea). Overall though this is a great game.
