i had need for speed 2, 3, and high stakes and all were fun; liked the music and gamplay in high stakes, graphics could have been better though but other wise a good game. if you are into racing classics then this is the game to get.

Amazing PC Game!

My friend and I played this years ago. It is the most fun I have ever had on the PC. The multiplayer rocks, and the graphics were great for back then.

It's funny that I would review this now, because my computer won't even run a game this old. But, if you have an older PC, and it runs games, you need this.

Need For Speed Crazy

I had the game years ago but the steering was a bit delayed. I just purchased a new system with Windows XP and a high speed graphics card and now the game works GREAT! I admit the engine sound could be a bit better, but hey for the 4 generation game of NFS what's to expect. You can't compare this game to others, just look at it for what it has in it's own options. Hot Pursuit, Career Mode, Knock Out, Single Player. The best one of all: Career Mode. The repair is very cool, it's fun to beat on the cars and trash the motor and hear it backfire, trash the body and suspention, then go back to the repair shop and watch the car reform (at the price of your winnings). Over all for the 4 level of NFS I give the game 2 thumbs up. Great job NFS.

This game rocks. It is very realistic and fun. It is cool because you can upgrade that sleek new Mclaren that just won you about $1,000,000 in the realistic Career play mode. But it can be frustrating because it is easy too crash. Even if you hate driving games you will love this one

Auto racing and driving games are tops on my list for the PC. I've already bought several of them and I've only owned a PC for a year and a half. I recently bought NEED FOR SPEED HIGH STAKES and I consider it my favorite in a dead heat with DRIVER! They are both great as far as the demos are concerned and even though the detail and graphics could be a little better, it still turns me on. I am still a novice but the SNOWY RIDGE course is my favorite even though it's fairly challenging. My top speed is over 90 and that's really great for me(a beginner). I got used to this one rather quickly and I love the good variety of courses and cars. The Corvette is my personal preference. My joystick works pretty well with HIGH STAKES and it is not a really sophisticated one. Great job on this game EA!!!

Sometimes when a sequel is made for a video game, it can often be a mistake for them to follow the success that the original version has hatched within the gamers. With Need For Speed, it often made itself into a huge dynamic franchise within the video game industry. But sometimes, it never seems to go within that trial. It just makes you want to go all the way back to the previous video game because you're so use to it.

The Need For Speed sequel: High Stakes, consists of several hip cars you can definitely race across seven tracks to start with, and several fast speed automobiles, including the Chevrolet Camaro, and the legendary corvette. Otherwise, the game falls a little bit short within the tracks. Although the seven opening tracks are nice, the other hidden tracks were from the previous Need For Speed 3: Hot Pursuit, making it seem to familiar to grounds that were already made a little while ago.

Although this game falls a little bit short from the sequel, it is a nice welcome to new computer gamers. But, if you've played the previous games, I suggest you pass this one up, and get the Need For Speed 3: Hot Pursuit, or the newer Hot Pursuit 2.

Well, let's start off with the good stuff: 1.great graphics 2.a lot of cars 3. downloadable cars from needforspeed.com 4.good gameplay and interface and now the bad: 1. you have to earn cars and tracks 2. the games system requirements are deceptive. our computer is almost double what it should be, but the game will only let us play one or two races before it crashes.
