Need 4 Speed

This game rocks. It is very realistic and fun. It is cool because you can upgrade that sleek new Mclaren that just won you about $1,000,000 in the realistic Career play mode. But it can be frustrating because it is easy too crash. Even if you hate driving games you will love this one

Impressive driving simulation game.

This is one of the most realistic driving simulation games available in the market. The reason is that there is actual damage effects if you drive your exotic cars recklessly.

One of the most impressive damage effects in this game is the damage effect of your car's tubeless tires. Tires could blow off and only the rims are left. The damage will in fact affect your sharp turns and the stability of your car. They also spark as a result of friction between the metal rims and hard asphalt.

Headlights and brakelights will be damaged as soon as your car bumps into something. The damage of your car's headlights will impair your driving at night. As a consequence, you can hardly drive your car at its top speed.

Other damage effects include the damage of your car's rooftop when your car turn over, tire marks on the road, and fire comes out from the gas tank. Furthermore, graphics and sound effects of this game are relatively comparable to its sequels.

The drawback of this game is that you cannot buy spare parts and fix the damages that you have caused to your car. You cannot pop the hood open and re-tune the engine after the race. You cannot modify your car. There is just so much things that you cannot do to your car.

In conclusion, without those impressive damage effects, this is just another typical driving simulation game. It is pretty boring and it just can't keep me playing for months.

I have played this game with the Act Labs Force Feedback racing wheel, and let me tell you it is awesome! I thought I was gonna fall out of my chair! The graphics are the best I've seen compared to "Need For Speed III" this is much better! The cars are hot, the bonus Porsche is the BOMB! I say hang on to your wheel and race, this is a great racing experience!

Electronic Arts has done it again! NFS High Stakes is a great improvement over NFS III. The career play is much deeper than I thought it would be. I got so consumed in competing that I found myself either screaming in pain or shouting out loud, depending on where I found myself finishing with the pack. Definitely a cool game that you won't find boring after a week. The coolest matchup is the high stakes race, where you compete for your opponent's car.

Full of Challenge!

This game has lots of modes like Career Play (buy cars and pay for the damage), Hot Pursuit (runaway from the cops or become a cop and chase speeders), Knockout & Tournament. You can race a Ferrari, Mercedes, Lamborghini, Porsche, Chevrolet, BMW, Jaguar, Pontiac even a McLaren. Plus you can download cars from needforspeed.com. Yet the game lacks graphical inprovement from Need For Speed III: Hot Pusuit (some tracks tend to be dark and gloomy). Some features are: you can listen to music from your own CDs, night racing & race a friend on the same machine.

this game has amazig gaphics, and great gameplay value. If you think the more sequals the worse the game gets, you are wrong. I can find only two problems with this game: 1 the main one is that there is absolutley no way to get a Mustang ( BIG PROBLEM), 2 they only give you nough money in careeer to buy the BMW Z3, this car if pretty much the worst on the game. other then this the game is perfect

This game rocks. It is the best game in the NFS series. I bought the PSX version the day it hit store shelves. I now have the PC version as well. I breifly got a chance to try the playstation version of NFS5: Porsche Unleashed, but I like this on better, partly because the game is about one manufacturer: Porsche. In this game, you can choose to drive with the top up or down on cars that are so equipped. The hot Pursuit mode is hotter than ever with thre different game mode within Hot Puruit. Plus there are extra cars available from the NFS website. Any diehard race fan should get this game now.
