Primitive But Fun

While this game was primitive compared to all the other Nancy Drew games, it's definately worth a play if for no other reason then to see how these awesome games got their start. The graphics and the music are pretty funny and I got a kick out of how much cheesier the dialogue was. The overall plot structure of the game is fast compared to more recent games; you can do it in half the time. The most annoying part of the game is that every time you go to the high school (where about 75% of the game takes place), you had to change disks. Then while in the high school, you'd have to change disks back to get into other locations. There are also some quirks in the games that occur if you have a more up-to-date computer, but herinteractive.com has a message board and technical team that gives instructions about how to remedy the situations. All-in-all I had fun and would recommend this game to any true ND game fan. If this is your first crack and ND games, however, I'd try any other game first before playing this one. I don't think it will be fun for you if it's your first.

Fun, but annoying

I(t was a very fun game but it was annoying to have to change discs all the time. I have read the book but it was also very confusing. Overall it was okay.

This is absolutely my favorite ND game. I have about 15 of them. We are utter mac people but we keep our last windows for the purpose only of playing ND games. This is my favorite game because of the story line and the endless amounts of clues ( which does get a tid bit tedious but always more fun). The setting at the school is so intricate with so many possible clues that it makes you actually think. I am a die hard ND book and computer game fan (I've read too many to count :) ) and this game is absolutely fabulous.

Warning-Cartoonish Graphics-Don't compare with later games!

If you have played the newer versions of Nancy Drew games, you will be very disappointed with the graphics. The people look like cartoons. The graphics are not rendered in 3D like the rest of the Nancy Drew games.

The plot is good, but the graphics don't compare with the rest.

Look Past the Flaws and this is a really good game.

Okay so this game has 2 discs, that you constanly have to switch out to play the game, and yes the graphics in this game are cerntinly not the best, but so what?!?

Secrets can kill is the first game in the nancy drew seris, so of course its graphics are gonna be horrible, but if you look past the 2 discs switching ,and the 2-D graphics , this game is absoultly amazing!

Our story starts in Flordia, when Aunt Eloise writes to Nancy , telling her that a murder has been commited at Paso Del Mar High School. A guy named Jake Rogers was pushed off a flight of Stairs for no reason and got he face all squished up. But , hang on, was thier a reason? As Nancy asked the students around the campus, she finds out that nobody really liked Jake , and everyone thought he was a "total creep" or "slimeball". Did one of Paso Del Mar High School students commit the crime?!? Find out for yourself in this wonderful game!

And please, look past the 2-d graphics , and the switching of 2 discs. :)

very good game

I bought this game for my daughter for her 14th birthday. I didn't play the game myself but saw that she had a great time with it. She's been playing Nancy Drew games for about 5 years now and enjoys them a lot. Sometimes I do sit down and help her solve a mystery. She always is anxious for the next game to come out! I believe she has solved all of the current ones out now.

What were they thinking?

Although the gaming industry has long needed girl games, there is no excuse for putting out a game like this in 1998. Sierra was putting out better games 15 years earlier. The puzzles are too difficult. The interface is terrible. Their more recent games are much better, but I'm still a little bothered by the fact that they don't seem to have any of the old gamers on staff that could tell them how to correctly balance a game.

BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really didn't like this game at ALL! The mystery about somone dead was good and all, and I know it's Herinteractive's first game, but come on! Cartoon characters?! Plus, it was easy and short, and not hard at all. If I were you, I would NOT buy this at all, NAH-AH! I hope this review helped! =)

Nancy Drew: Secrets Can Kill is a killing of a game!

This game is very addictive. You start out with an opening sequence showing that a high school student (jake Rogers) has been murdered, and it's up to you to find out who did it. You meet several characters who all had connections with Jake in some sort of way. There are tons of clues to help you. What I liked about this is that you don't HAVE to solve every single little word puzzle in the game to beat it. This is challenging for kids and adu;ts alike and definitely worth the money.
