In Nancy Drew Secrets Can Kill you as Nancy Drew are trying to figure out who murdered Jake Rogers. Jake is a Paseo Del Mar highschool student. As you dig deeper into the case you find out that there was also a robbery at Vandelay Pharmacies. At first the pharmcists didn't notice anything missing but then thay realized a very particular steroid was missing. Now Nancy has two cases and she somehow thinks they are involved with each other. This game is very fun.

I have two problems.

I love this game but, Its a pain to have to keep switching the disks! Why do they want & need two disks for this game.If you have not bought this game yet DON'T or if you have your heart set on it just get it. Sometimes its fun other times, NO WAY!!!!! Stay Tuned For Danger is good! I love it. Check it out. Go under the reviews for Stay Tuned For Danger & I think you will be surprised. Its much better then this. Trust me.

Not this ND game

If you're going to get an ND (Nancy Drew) game at all, don't get this one, at least not until you're done with all the other ones. Because this is the first one out of the entire Nancy Drew game series, it has terrible graphics. The people are 2D and look like they were cut out of a cartoon. It's even worse when the environment is 3D! Plus, you have to keep on switching between 2 disks! It's very tiring and annoying. If you have a fast computer, the likeliness of it is that it'll freeze a lot. That's what happened on my computer and it's fast, but when my friend played it (who has a slow computer), it only froze ONCE. But on the plus side, the whole concept of taking Nancy Drew books and turning them into interactive mystery games for children is brilliant. It's absolutely fun and educating but not to the point that it's boring. I don't suggest THIS specific mystery game, but I do suggest you start playing Nancy Drew games because all of them are fun except this one.

Fun!

You, as Nancy Drew, are asked to stay at your Aunt Eloise's house to solve a murder: Who killed Jake Rogers? In this small Florida town, you will meet four people who all had ties to Jake. Who is it and why? Is it Daryl Grey whose secret had been discovered by Jake? Or is it Connie Watson, who too had been blackmailed by Jake? Or is it that exchange student from Japan, Hal who would do anything to get a scholorship? Or is it that football jock Hector "Hulk" Sanchez who seems to had ties to a drug store theft? Blackmail, deceit, and lies all take part in HerInteractive's 1st in a series of award-winning CD-ROMS.

Why was it only given 4 stars? Graphics for one. The cartoon-like characters in a world of 3D makes the game slightly tacky. The 2 CD-ROMS is another. The game goes by slow enough without making it worse. My computer often froze during the CD change. Also, the game was on the difficult side, not too difficult but complex nonetheless. The story was great, and the ending was awesome! I recommend buying!

Just Okay

This was a good game, and fun, but definitely not as good as some of the later Nancy Drew games. The graphics were not as good, solving it was not as fun, and it goes by faster than the other ones. In this one the people are all drawn, but in the others they are 3D and look real. But it is still fun, especially if you have never played any of the other games and so have no expectations. If you love mysteries, I would recommend this series, but choose a later game. My favorite is Curse of Blackmoor Manor!

Well, I am 12 years old and I own all of the 13 Nancy Drew computer games.I didn't finish this game because I thought it was too confusing. I was scratching my head all the time.I mean I give the company that made this game some credit because you know it was the first game they made after all....I ssoo recomend all of the other games besides this one!

Amazing kickoff for the series.

I loved this game. Of course it didn't have all of the amazing features the others have. I bought it so along ago that it doesn't play on windows xp. It makes me mad i can't still play it. It was a blast. Switching cds was annoying. But this game is a classic. You can get it for so cheap now too. I wouldn't pass it up.

This was my first Nancy Drew game and I never read the books. I enjoyed Secrets can Kill a lot but the difficulty is way to much for the average 10 and up child. Still it was extremely fun. A must play!

A Cumbersome Mystery

First, the good news: there are quite a few mysteries to solve in this game, really, before you discover the murderer, which means your detective mind will get a decent workout. The bad news: unlike most Nancy Drew games, this one comes on two CDs, so you have to keep switching back and forth as you move along, which can become quite cumbersome. As well, the story is a bit too linear for my tastes, and the dialogue is missing some of the good-natured humour of the other games (I never thought I'd miss Bess!).

Awful!

I absolutely DO NOT recommend this game. First of all, it was way too easy. I finished it in about 4 hours and since it is really no fun after you've played it once, I felt that the game was a total waste of money. Secondly, the game contains two discs and you have to keep switching back and forth between them which is positively annoying. Third, the graphics look way too cartoonish. I wouldn't really mind the cartoonish graphics if everything else about the game was cool, but it's not. I would not recommend paying money for this game unless you've played all the other games and are just desperate for another.
