This game is addictive! While confusing at first, once the system has been learned, this game will take over your life as you mix and match regular zoo animals, endangered species, dinosaurs, and marine life.

The kids love this game! It is entertaining for kids 5+ as well as adults. Highly recommended.

Before getting this, I couldn't understand how people could sit in front of a computer playing a game for hours on end. Now I see. What an addictive game. Played with this all weekend long building the zoo, adding employees and exhibits, tinkering with prices for the restaurant and food stands. Today I'm going to try some of the 'cheats.' I'm going to have to get a timer to control my game time. It's easy to get caught up in this.

My young son bought this with his birthday money because he liked the dinosaur on the cover. His 11-year-old sister took over rather quickly and figured it out completely on her own. She now helps him with the necessary reading. They spend hours playing this game and now they're asking about the new Zoo Tycoon 2 that we've seen in the stores. There's so much to do and learn (and keep track of) with this game. I played it for the first time myself the other night and found that the time just flew by while I was "playing." I highly recommend it! Good stuff.

This game is very good.I always just thought it was some game.But it isn`t!It is very addicting,but it`s one of the best!

I first started playing at my grandmothers house.At first,I was having a hard time making the animals happy,but I ended up figuring out how to get the right things(Foilage,grass,etc.)

The point of this game is to make a profit and keep the animals happy.If too many of your animals are unhappy,like if the cages are`nt clean enough,the exibits are`nt pleasing,you can`t make anymore exibits.You get the animals taken away.You can earn them back by making sure the animals are extreemly happy.

The marine mania extension pack is very fun.There are lots of undersea wild life animals to choose from.You can make the exibits as deep/wide as you want.

The Dinasour Digs expansion pack is very fun.Since dinasours are extinct,this is most interesting to me.It is so awesome!If you let the dinasours out,they will eat your customers.They hatch out from eggs and then grow up.

I personally don`t have this game yet because we are waiting for it to ship.

I have been playing Zoo Tycoon for many years. I purchased a "complete collection" version to replace the 3 individual discs I had in the beginning. This is a great game. I particularly enjoy the building of each new freeform zoo. I also own Zoo Tycoon 2, but do not like it. It is apparently geared for children. I don't need the fancy graphics to have fun with a building/design game. Microsoft did very well with Zoo
Tycoon. I wish they would develop another similar game - perhaps with a resort town theme?

This game is really fun for all ages and includes the expansion packs. Very addicting game. There are different challenges to meet to unlock levels, or you can just freeplay. You design your zoo, hire workers, and adopt animals. I am excited to buy the 2nd one as well.

If you put a Mermaid Statue in a Tank, it will turn into a real Mermaid. However, it will not appear on the Adopt Animals Tab.

My 9, 7 and 5 year old all love this game. When I watch them play it, I am amazed at what I see. They are actually running a business. They manage and run all aspects of the zoo. They allocate and disburse monies, account for losses and profitability, and create and build new additions.
They actually fight over who's turn it is to play. The complete collection is a great value as well.

This is the best zoo sim game I could find!! The graphics are great, animal selection good, and the options are great as well. This is a great gift to any kid!
