The best shooter game ever made

Half -life is simply the best shooter game for the PC that has ever been made. It has 14 weapons(the most i've ever seen on the PC), and a lot of aliens to kill. The game is very long, and your opponents are quite challenging. The only bad thing is you can't hold two weapons at the same time, unlike perfect dark for N64, you can. I don't know why freeman hold a tiny pistol with two hands but I still HAD to put a 5 star rating on this masterpiece.

I'm fortunate to have played H/L since it's release and I've steadily seen one of the greatest games destroyed by hackers (cheats).

On that note, don't hesitate for a second... buy it! If you're aware of the fact that there are cheats, and choose your servers carefully, you will enjoy one of the greatest games (and mods) to ever hit the market!

this is one of the best games ever, valve exceeded everyones expectations with an amazing story line and excellant gameplay the perfect combination for any shoot em up. if you don't have it buy it.

This game is just amazing. It has won numerous awards in over 50 publications and deserves each and every one of them. I have been a subscriber to the magazine PC GAMER for the last two years and each of them, it has won top 50 games of all time. There is no doubt about it in any way. The graphics in this game were the first of its kind. Many games use its engine or have improved on it it minor ways. The story was as if you were watching a movie. As you played, the story unfolded in front of your eyes. Characters were well developed and it had a great plot, conflict, and resoloution. Half-life has had two expansion packs: Opposing Force and Blueshift. Each of them shows the story from a different perspective. Very cool. I think this game was very well developed and it will be a game that people will need to have. A game that has set the standards. And most of all, a game that I love!! HALF-LIFE RULES!!

I was initially blown away with the single player experience, but that was over three years ago. But I can still play it every day because of all the great and free multiplayer mods that you can download such as TFC, and Counter-Strike. Its the game that keeps giving!!

This game is as good as tehy come. Sure, there are games that have better engines, or better graphics, but the game play is unsurpasable. THis game can keep you occupied for hours on end. And what is the best part is that it comes with arguably the best online multiplayer game ever: Team Fortress Classic. Oh my god. TFC supplies endless hours of fun at sleep overs, parties, and anytime you feel like eating up some time. Unfortunately, i am sad to say, that lately TFC has been spoiled by cheaters and new players who think it is fun to run around and use only grenades regardless of whether or not they survive. So unless you organize a bunch of frineds onto a specific server and play there, you can find yourself wishing you played with a real gun and that the newbies were real too. To counter act this, i recommend playing Counter-Strike, because it is the greatest game. EVER. But CS dosn't have a single player. So, get the original for amazing single player missions and a very good online engine. THen get CS for unblieveable multiplayer fun. In fact, just tonight, i was up till 5 playing CS, and then my Dad came down to go to work and i freaked out cuz i only thought it was midnight. Trust me, both these games are addicitng. Buy both, you won't be sorry.

This is a Great game but i only play online, i hate singleplayer games so, if you want a good multiplayer game with lots of mods avalailable this it is, no more no less, great online game so 5 star for that, 3 for singleplayer

This game is a very fun and challenging game. A MUSTHAVE for 1st person players. There is strategy involved, so it's not just a "KILL KILL KILL EVERY ONE!" kind of game.one thing I didn't like that much was that u r a scientist whose experiment turned the surounding desert into a alien,marine, & special ops battle feild.But ur just a scientist, how would he know how to scale clifs, operate weapons from a scifi movie, and save the world with just a PHD in Theoretical physics. Like I think some one once said,"Your PHD wont save you now, doctor(Freeman)"

Best First Person Shooters

Half-Life game of the year is one of the best first person shooting games Ive ever played. Along with Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Half-Life Blue Shift, Max Payne, Alien vs. predator 2, Red Fraction, Half-Life opposing force and Counterstrike. All these games have a few things in common good graphics, good controls, good sound, and good game setting. You can tell by these good qualities that these are some of the best.

I love this game, [it] scares me [so bad]! I never had that happen before, and i'm only talking about single player mode. Multi player rocks!
