Despite all the hype, Half-Life is not what it's cracked out to be. The AI is not that impressive. Most of the enemies are stone deaf. If you snipe at a soldier in an area full of his fellow soldiers, they often will remain oblivious, until you jump into their line of sight.

Though the story is very minimal, it gets the job done. What Half-Life does well, is incorporate the story into the action, though the story-line is much too predictable.

Although it is a very fun game, it is not very immersive. It has some great action, but the atmosphere seems too light and upbeat to really thrust you into the Half-Life world. This is a very fun and addictive game, yet the story and immersion factor are lacking.

I am a huge fps fan, but i don't get why everyone likes this game so much. I found it rather boring and dull. The gameplay was slow, most of the game was just going around looking for buttons to push to activate different things, which got old in about the first 20 minutes of gameplay. i admit this game is very good, but i just cant see why it has gotten so much hype. if u want to get the coolest fps then get Clive Barker's Undying

CRAP! WHAT'S HAPPENING! This is NOT good! YIPES! HELP!! Sorry, just remembering the scene where it all goes wrong with the Resinance(?) Cascade. Never before have i been so enthralled by a game than when i played this game. It has VERY, very little wrong with it. if it'd be a percent, id say, 97%. Creepy to the bone only beaten recently with CB's Undying for atmosphere and suspence. With an UNFORGETTABLE story. Riviting gameplay. Tense, hugely testosteron-y battles, and the bloody teffifying AI of the buggers coming for you. Gaming has never been so brilliant. And perfectly balanced aswell. For every tense, 5% health stand-off in a garage between you and 4 goddamn black assassins, there's a mowdown of 30 agressive lightning throwers with a gun emplacement and a sprinkling of the creepy stalking down deserted coridoors, waiting for your next adversary to jump you and begain to rip you to pieces. This game isn't in the same league as it's competitiors. Only the massive CB's Undying and Deus Ex comes close (very close in Deus Ex's case). So go buy it. Waste a good month of your social life on the Single player mode then waste the rest of the year on it's MASSIVE multiplayer modes and mods (and EVERYONE knows i'm on about the clasic team fortress and the colossal Counter-strike) Go on. You know you want to. Bye.

i have had this game since the release, or about a month of release, so i have the first release... and i just reinstalled it, it is still amazing.

i have played all of the great new and great old games, and i have to say, this one ranks in at the top with doom!

i may sound like some stupid redneck, but i ahte them, anyways...

this game is awesome, go play it!

This game starts off sooooooooo slow and in order to actually get into it, you have to be playing for 3 days without stopping. Too many things are drawn out....

if you have ever played unreal seriers, you know there single player is bad, but half-life it is actualy good. The muilt-player is the best FPS muilt-player ever, take unreal and times it by 10. There is no comparisen to half-lifes muilt-player. There are hundereds of mods for it, my favorties, "Pirates, Vikings, Knights". "Counter-Strike". and "Day of Defeat". The best thing about this game is the mods. The muilt-player in the half-life game, not the mods just regular half-life compare to the mods like counter-strike.

This game is so damn good it still amazes me after having had it for like 2-3 years and beaten it 10 times over. The english language does not have words to express how amazing this game really is. If your thinking of buying it don't think any longer. GO GET IT RIGHT NOW! In addition to the best single player gameplay ever, you can get mods for it like Counter-strike and Day of Defeat all for free!. AWSOME AWSOME AWSOME AWSOME GAME!!

Guys I must admit, half-life has got to be the most unbelieveable first person shooter game ever made, even THE best game ever made. It kept me occupied for the whole 6 hrs it took me to play it and enjoyed every second of it. for all of you guys out there who are looking for a game that includes everlasting action, and teamplay, BUY IT!! you wont regret it
