Take a look at the screenshots at Civilization3.com to get more info. There are much needed inprovements in this expansion pack like constructable airfield/military bases and new guerilla units so you can finnally wage a secret guerilla war on your enemys. There are also sentry and radar towers so you can take a peek at where a hostile nation's troops are. One thing I hope will be improved is the Tactical AI so that I dosen't just send in units to be slaughtered as their built but amasses forces to launch counter-attacks and offensives.

First off, civilization is one of the best strategy games i have ever played, and the only one i keep coming back to.
Second, this should have come in the first release... well if we look at the history of releases, they are particularly sadening games like RA2 and broodwar only add a couple of units while leaving other more serious problems unatended (RA2).
Third civilization games have never had multiplayer released initialy. it took them 3 years to incorperate multiplayer into civ 2 and the original game will never see it. While i have not played the expansion i am sure i am giong to buy it and enjoy it far more than many of the games i have purchased in the past.

I've read many of the reviews here detailing the laundry list of problems with the multiplayer game. I am wondering (and would like to hear from people regarding) whether the "hotseat" multiplayer, which I think is just played on one computer by multiple people, has the same laundry list of problems as the multiplayer played over the internet with strangers. I'm considering buying PTW just for the ability to play multiplayer at home with others, but won't if people say it has all of the same problems. Any thoughts?

I felt ripped-off. I love Civ III, but this add-on is total trash. Nothing to it. It is only good for their pocket books, I was very let down that this trash was put on the market. It is not worth even a dime!!! Wyatt Kaldenberg

Civ III PTW is an incredible value for your money as it adds 8 new civs, several new units, a few new city improvements and wonders, a bunch of extra tile sets and scenarios, and it even adds multiplayer to boot! All eight of the new civs are extremely interesting and only have me craving the next XP. Well done Firaxis!

First, I haven't played the expansion yet. But I have ordered it. This is to clear up some misinformation. The original reviewer says that Civ was never multiplayer. In this he is incorrect. A version came out as a multiplayer game called Civnet running on Windows 3.1.

As for CivIII? It is great. The expansion looks interesting. I look forward to playing.

I'm a big fun of this game. I have an internet router with default firewall configuration, and the game doesn't work through it. So I got to spend some time figuring out how to configure firewall rules before I can get online... I played single player game once so far but did not get into many of the features yet... The best feature I like so far is better automation of workers. It was a pain before to keep them cleaning pollution, but now I can focus on more interesting tasks :-)

you will relly like this game if you liked civilization 3 the frist version the new wonders rock.Plus the new unit rocks i will not tell you what it is so you will have to buy the game your self
