The graphics are bad and it is not a good companion with the first armada. It just was put together badly. I wish I never bought it. the idea was right but the ships (...) and they get destroyed to easily. They are destroyed in 2 seconds and the grtaphics on the first one was much better. I believe you should play the first one more. I have to say the instant action in good but like I said above it (...). It just is no fun with the shields fail 2 seconds in the game. I say this game should not be bought till they fix the bugs or redo the whole thing.

Why did they drop the female character?

I have just cancelled my order for Elite Force II. I read the
website descriptions of the game and found out that you cannot
choose the sex of the main character. If the creators of this
"sequel" wish to market to only men, fine. I'm not a man.
Alexandra Munro needs to be placed back into the program.

When will it actually be sent to me???

DO NOT waste your money

Although I am trekkie and purchased this game with high hopes, I was immensely disappointed. The only positive thing I can say about the game is that most of the graphics are impressive. (One notable exception: when characters' lips move when they are talking, it looks ridiculous and unrealistic.) Every other aspect of the game is horrendous. Gameplay is very slow, and you spend a lot of time just watching events unfold, in sickeningly slow speed, on the screen. The game even manages to make battles boring--you just instruct your tactician, with a series of mouse clicks, to attack, and he fires at the enemy ship for a good five minutes until it blows up. This relegates you to the role of observer rather than participant, which makes for a boring experience. Also, you do not have the ability to save during a mission, so if you make a mistake and fail a mission, you are doomed to repeat the entire boring experience. I strongly recommend against this game.

cool game - great improvment

I've played already the "Armada 1" game and I enjoyed it very much but it had many problems in subjects like: graphicks, interface and bugs.
From the info that I read in the syte of "Armada 2" the improvmentsare very extensive:
the gameplay is now in complete 3D, the bugs were minimized and solved, the campaigns are now far bigger and more detailed(9 missions per race), you have two times more ships than in 'Armada 1"(very iportent-you w'ontget board from the game) and the graphics is now really beautiful.
There are also several good things in armada 2 that you won't find in any other strategy game like:
1. many subsistems to asingle ship (life-support, engines, sensors, weapons and shilds). 2. crew in yoar starships (no crew no starship). 3. very large differnses between the races and their capabilitis.

I have two copies of this game. One from a reputable video gaming store and the last one from amazon last week. Neither keycodes work for either game. I had no trouble with Orion Pirates but have not been able to access this game because of a keycode error. The gaming company will not reply to my email technical support questions and have found no help on chat lines. I am obviously not alon, hence the other reviews. If anyone has a keycode that works PLEASE pass on to us less fortunate souls. Yes, I have tried loading on three different computers with no results. Thanks Gary and Leanna

Terrible

Starfleet Command 3, without doubt, is one of the worst Star Trek games I have ever played.

I bought this game with the expectation of playing some Star Trek battles/missions with an interesting story, but what I got was a disaster.

While the game's story is interesting, nothing else is. The actual gameplay is pathetically slow and boring, and the controls are extremely awkward, which makes it difficult to perform quick maneouvers during battle. You can literally spend an hour fighting a small freighter with your ship going around in circles, trying to catch the smaller ship and only ocassionaly scoring hits. This sort of thing becomes extremely boring after a few missions.

I don't recommend this game to anyone unless you are a total Trek freak, and even then it would be an ask to finish this game. Don't waste your money on this thing.

Sequels are better? Wrong!

I got Elite Force II 'bout a couple of months after it came out. I had previously tried the demo on Windows ME but the mouse cursor was so slow. Now I have the real game and these are the pros and cons of the game.
Pros:
-Good Graphics
Cons:
-Where's Voyager?
-Very Slow
-Hard play

I thought this game would be based on ST: Voyager, but I was wrong! The only Voyager characters that they have is Tuvok and Barclay, which does not really count. Just throw this game away and get Star Trek Voyager Elite Force on PC or it's expansion pack.

Very satisfying and very intense!

I basing my review on the single player aspects.

The action is very intense and the gameplay great. This is probably rated nearly as well as Half-Life in its day. It would be a big mistake to deny yourself the chance to play this game. It is superior in so many ways, graphically, storyline, intensity.

The storyline really throws you some hooks. The character models are fantastic. I just can't say enough about my experience with this game. I'm now starting to play the game for the second time.

Might be good, but beware!

Somthing they do not -ever- state in the manual or the box (read both, cover - to - cover, is that you MUST have Microsoft Game Voice in order to use this. Which requires an ADDITIONAL [$$] purchase. If you have it to spare, go ahead for the thrill of commanding a starship with your voice. Otherwise, I most heartily reccomend Star Trek: Starfleet Command II: Empires at War.
