I bought this game for 5 bucks at a local retail store and wasn't expecting much but this game is absolutely huge and extremely detailed, not to mention very fun. Some people have mentioned the graphics being dated, but even so they're very detailed and stylized. Sure there are no 3d texture mapped polygons or gratuituous FMVs every three seconds...that's why I liked it! Plus it has all the original cast voices and sound fx which perfectly recreate the feel of the series. A lot of time and care went into this game and it really shines. If you're a Star Trek fan you'll LOVE it, and even if you're not and you just want a fun, old school game to play then definitely check this one out.

When you're tired of the first-person-shooter (Elite Force), start the galactic strategy game (Armada). They're all good fun. I bought it for 3 friends and I for on-line play. Good value. I grew up with Star Trek, although I'm not a big fan of Star Trek: Voyager. Anyway, it all works together well.
Eye candy and childish gameplay.

Perhaps my most antisapated game, and most dissapointing. Yes BC has nice graphics, nice sound, and some realism, but when it comes to the core of any game, mainly gameplay and replayability, this game fails to deviver.
Some say the best game for hard core trekkers, they say wide varityy of ships, this is not so, the only star trek game that i have ever played that fit those descriptions is Klingon Academy, with nearly 40 ships, and Klingon Academy(KA) has joystick support, a better Multiplayer atmosphere, and better missions, KA doesn't have the graphics that BC has, but graphics aren't what makes games fun,
Overall, BC is a good game, but not worth the price, and defenitly not as good as the box cover says, your more the secound officer then the captain, this game falls way short of what was said it was to be when it was first concieved.
Finally, the big seat, for all the Star Trek Fans!

Finally, a chance to actually captain a starship from where every captain should be, the Big Chair. This game allows you to take command of different ships in the Star Trek universe and go on missions in an overly developing plot set after the Dominion War. This allows for two modes of play: one where you can sit back and watch the experience just giving basic orders, or the other where you can actually fly and shoot using the ship your in command of. The story line of the game is wonderful, and leaves you guessing each minute of the moment. The missions in the game are varied and allow for different parts of the ship to be used depending on the mission that you're in. Plus, two guest appearences from the TNG series are also in here: Picard and Data which both fit seemlessly into the plot line! However, on the missions the constant fighting really can become tedius.
Pros:
The Captians Chair
Two Modes of Gameplay
Great Storyline
Cons:
Constant combat becomes tedius
This Game ....

I've been a die hard fan of the Starfleet Command series since it came out. Starting with SFC1 I had finally found a game that would hold my interest for years!
...I couldn't wait...bought it, installed it, played it, HATED IT!! This game is so far removed from the other 3 titles and it is a joke. By trying to appeal to the TNG fans and to attract new customers, the game was simplified to the point of a 7 year old could play it and win. Go into reverse and fire...that is it...no tactics nada.
It is a shame that such a great Game title has gone to the dogs....
yuk!!!

The graphics are [bad]. What a piece of garbage! Armada was far superior! I ended up unistalling this waste of money 10 minutes after installing it. Go with the original if you haven't played it, or Bridge Commander. Much better choices.

When I fist saw the pics of bridge commander I thought it looked fun, probrably more so than the other star trek games I've played like SFC III. I was wrong. It's a whole lot better than those could ever hope to be. Yeah, the story game is fun, but the real fun lies in quick battle. You go into it, though, and think where are all the ships. The fact is this game doesn't come with much but has a good basis. Since I first got this game I've gone many times to www.bcfiles.com and downloaded mods, ships, and other fun things for the game. Now the once empty bridge commander is full of all sorts of ships and other interesting things. So, if you want a fun game that's true to star trek and are willing to do a little work online to make it better, bridge commander is the game for you.

Bridge Commander allows you to truly feel what it's like to command a starship. Even if you haven't seen any Star Trek movies or episodes, the realism of Bridge Commander will make it seem like you are actually participating in an episode. With 3,000+ polygons per ship, you will be amazed by the awesome graphics of the new game. Also, with a fully interactive storyline and up to four different endings, you will not be forced into a storyline like other games. Additionally, Bridge Commander boasts over thirty missions ranging from battles to full-fledged exploration missions. It would be unwise to pass up another great Star Trek game like this one. Overall, I'd rate this game a 5/5.
