Sim City meets Roller Coaster Tycoon. Loads-O-Fun

Incredibly addictive. Sim Golf is closer to Roller Coaster Tycoon than sim city due to the people interaction. You can actually golf on the course you make but it's not very detailed like the serious golf games, but this fits the SIM's genre perfect.

Good game, but gets tedious

First off, don't expect SimGolf to in anyway represent real golf. It's a great game though, one I enjoyed for quite some time. There are many different locations you can stage your golf course, from the desert to the tree filled mountains. Each setting has its own unique flavor and personality. You start off by building rather small simplistic holes, then once you earn enough money, move up and build more expensive and elegant courses. One thing I dispised is the fact you need to have all of your holes have a really high imagination rating for a respectful SGA event to visit town. To make them imaginative, you have to make the course very unrealistic, then if you have one too many hard shots, all the players whine and moan and the fun rating goes down, sending that hole to unacceptable for the SGA. Aside from that (which you adjust to), its a great game. It's really fun to build your course and see it alive with action. As for playing the course yourself, that is an overstatement, you just click where you want your guy to hit the ball and hope that he hits it okay. Overall, it a good game, but has some flaws they should have worked out.

I've had this for a wile and i've gotten Adictive to it because its so good. I think that anybody that would like this game its funny and fun at the same time. and you can Learn (a little) from this about golf. But its where you start out as a owner of a Park, Dessert, etc, Anyway you try to Build a Major Golf club. But there is money in this so don't think you will get everything free. of "Course" there is a sandbox mode where you can just build a Course with infinite money. And I also like the Big selecton of different Terrain. But I think the coolest part about it is that you get to play your own Course for a change like in some games you can build them but not try. I would reccomend this for a Present or if you just want a new game.

When I heard about this, that's what I thought. It is a spark of genius. You design a golf course. It couldn't be easier to learn, and it's so addictive. This is the best game I own. It beat out The Sims Unleashed and PGA Championship Golf on the top of my computer. So simple, and anyone can enjoy it. The true golf nut, the occasional golfer, or the person who has nothing better to do with their time than play random PC games. My advice: Buy it if you have a lot of free time. You'll get addicted.

I'm seeing those who are bashing and those who are praising.

So I'll direct my review at both views.

Pros:

You get to build your own golf course
You can play on your creation
You can hold tournaments
"Mini" RPG (You can improve your shots)

Cons:

Can get boring fast
Catch phrases get old
You can only build 18 holes, so there is a maximum capacity

My recommendation:

It's a Tycoon game, so if you don't like them, then you won't like this one.

I gave this game a 5 star fun rating, because it is quite fun to play. Though if you aren't willing to spend the money, then don't complain about it.

Fun to design and then play your course

I bought this game a few years ago for $20 and it is still one of the best games I've ever bought. The game lets pick a part of the world you want to build a golf course, lets you design it down to the last detail and best of all you get to place the courses that you build. I never get tired of this game. Works fine with vista.
