My absolute FAVORITE PC game

It was defenitely way too short!
I bought & played this game back when I was on Win95 (use WinXPpro now) and I had no problems whatsoever. This game was fun, exciting, creepy, and kept me wanting more. Even after I found things I needed in places, I was still curious to search more and just poke around. The stories were sad and haunting, but so entertaining. I was VERY dissapointed that this was so short and I have been searching for a similiar game ever since, with no luck at all :(
Still, I don't regret buying this....I mean, it's been forever, and I'm STILL searching for a game that can entertain me like this did! I gave Amber 4 stars only because of game length... other than that, I say, you have to play this game!

Boo Windows 95

I couldn't even get the game to play (Win 2000) .Script errors: handler not defined. I sent an email to the company and got a response saying it ONLY works on windows 95 (but isn't Win 200 supposed to be backward compatible so what's up with this?). Pretty lame is you ask me. Otherwise was looking forward to playing it.
I did peek at the movie in the movie folder and they look fairly lame. Small screen and very pixulated but I guess for when the game was put out that wasn't so bad. Storyline intrigued me so if I ever get to play it I may post again

I really did not enjoy playing Amber. I found the puzzles random, easy, and not interesting in the least. The whole game was very short, and the resolution wasn't satisfying. The idea in this game is to find out how each ghost in this house died. You have a device that measures sound waves. For each ghost you journey back in time. The settings are fairly interesting, but each is also very creepy. Again, I would not suggest this game. At the end I felt like I had wasted my time and money.

I can install it on my computer at work. I can't install it on my computer at home. I keep getting errors. Maybe the game is to old for my computer. From what I can see I would really like it. I love realistic games like this.
I wish Hue Forest would redo the game so it is compatable with windows XP, or have some kind of patch to make it work. I want to play it really bad. Hue Forest keep making games, I like your style.

An excellent "period" game.

If you like games like Myst, this is definitely for you. The animation may not be up to some current levels, but the mood, atmosphere, and overall sheer scenic beauty of the game more than make up for it. It's quite playable, too...novices as well as pros will enjoy the puzzles, which are perhaps not as difficult as those in Myst, but still challenging. Recommendation: get it and play it. See for yourself.

If you like murder mysteries then you'll like this game. Ghosts from different decades haunt the house and make for a spooky good time!

Best buy for gamers! Puzzles are fairly easy, but the content and story line are wonderful. Left me wanting more. When I replayed the game some time later, it was just as enjoyable. In fact, just thinking about it, I'm going to play the game again! This game was off the market for awhile and brought back only because so many gamers requested it.

I found that the game was interesting, but I wasn't pleased with the ending. I'm a person who likes multiple endings and Amber doesn't have it. Besides that, your co-worker, Roxy, is a very "perky" person who tends to become annoying while watching her on the videotape and at the finale. Edwin's story was heart wrenching, and Margaret and Brice's stories were tragic as well. The only thing I have to complain about was how shallow the stories were. Margaret, for instance, touched lightly on World War II but her story never gets any farther than a few rooms with a radio. The graphics were great, as well as the music and techno babble of the paranormal. I just wanted some multiple endings and a new co-worker, but besides that, it was a good buy, but not great.

Wow. There's lots more to this than meets the eye. It takes you through different time periods, each one giving you new territories to explore. I enjoyed it and the price is right. Used a walkthrough, but also found a lot on my own to.

great game, but ending was a dissapointment. I enjoyed it quite a bit, spooky stuff, great realist graphics, but the story just drops all of a sudden, and then its all over. I think it could have been a little bit harder to complete and should have lasted a little longer, I also think the ending was not so great, I feel that the creators should have had a more exciting ending to go with all the excitment throughout the game. Overall I liked it, not a bad game to buy.
