Being a big fan of the Zelda series and adventure games in general, I was thrilled to play this game. I know that it's similar to Zelda in gameplay, but many people seem to forget that Shigeru Miyamoto is the CREATOR of the Zelda, Mario, and Star Fox series. So I wasn't surprised when many of the puzzles and elements are Zelda-like, but exciting nonetheless for they are unique from the puzzles from Zelda and stand out in their own right. I am proud to tell you all that it's in library of favorite games, next to Zelda: Ocarina of Time (not that I haven't met a match to this game yet as many gamers will agree), Zelda: Majora's Mask, and a few others. What swept me away about this game were the surreal graphics, sounds, and songs, which were very pleasing to the ears. Another thing I loved about the game was the incredible voice over, not many games can pull that off and still stand proudly. Finally, the game was short in my opinion, but I can forgive Rare for that(after all it isn't easy to make a video game), but what they were able to accomplish was astounding nevertheless. All in all, you will not regret spending your money for this is a priceless game that everyone should own and enjoy for countless years to come.

I first got my exposure to Starfox Adventures when I was looking at the game at a game store that my mom's collegue's husband owned in town. Then, for my 18th birthday, I had gotten a box that had Starfox Adventures in it along with a memory card. It was a bit confusing at the beginning because Krystal (the blue girl fox) spoke in dinosaur (the native language of Dino planet) overall, the voice acting is excellent. Ever since, Starfox Adventures has been one of my favorite games ever!

Okay most of us were pretty dissapointed when Nintendo decided to change their minds on how Zelda would look but hey just grab Star Fox Adventures for now. The game play is exactly like Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. And if you are one of those few who say it's not like the Zelda 64 games all if have to say is there are flying bats that are on fire in the Starfox game and I think we all remember the burning flying bats in Zelda too so don't even try to say it's not like Zelda.
Anyway the game is great because unlike Zelda if you get stuck you can call on Slippy to give you hints instead of you searching for hours on what to do like you did in the Zelda Temples.
It's really cool because all the characters (well most of them) speak and in actual words too, not just in subtitles...meaning you get to hear them talk so it's really cool.
The worlds are very detailed like that of Pikmin and aren't as cartoony as Mario Sunshine except the worlds and space levels are very brightly colored so it does have a cartoon like feeling to the game, but hey it's Nintendo and the game is made my Rare so I'm not complaining.
A downside can be when you have to run back and forth all the way across the world like you had to do in Ocarina of Time. Sorry folks but there is no Ocarina to send us flying like in Majora's Mask...you have to actually walk. But it's a good thing because you learn the world well and the world can get confusing so knowing it backwards and forwards it a good thing!
The final battle...well I'll just say it's not what you expect but any StarFox fan should enjoy it.
I give the game 5 stars but i would like to give it 4 1/2 just because it's a little too much like Zelda but o well i love zelda so it's fine!

Star Fox is back, and This game is great. I love it. The graphics, aw man, the only game it can't best out is Splinter Cell. And the worlds are beautiful as well. This game is one of the best sequals yet. The only thing I don't like about this game is where is Falco. In Star Fox 64, he was the man, and now he's gone?! thats messed up. Anyway I borrowed it from someone, and brought the game the same day, and gave it back to him the next day. If u are a fan of star fox, or have a gamecube, u have 2 have this game by now. If not, why my friend ur missin out on everything.

The moment you play this game, you will recognize the gameplay. Any person who played the Nintendo 64 will recognize that this game is like The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time! Just about everywhere, this game was given the perfect 10 score. Rare took that award winning formula and created the long awaited title; Star Fox Dinosaur Planet, recently re-dubbed Star Fox Adventures. Star Fox Adventures was announced at E3 2000 for the Nintendo 64. It was worked on with a enourmous 512 megabyte game-cartidge. Later that year, Nintendo announced the Dolphin, what is now the Nintendo Gamecube. The graphics were the most amazing graphics almost brought to the Nintendo 64, making use of the almost useless Expansion Pack. Flash-forward to 2001, Star Fox Dinosaur Planet was delayed to ship when it was supposed to. Later, it was removed from the game list. It was made public that Star Fox was canceled. Everyone was really (pissed off). The game was kept under wraps for almost a year until late 2001. The game was announced for the Gamecube a year later. Star Fox fans rejoiced. We saw some screen shots of the game, and it blew everyone away. Excellent visuals! I mean, you can actually see the individual hairs in Fox's head. Cool! An announced date of March 2002 was official. Only a few months to Star Fox. Flash-forward to March 2002. Just a few more days until Star Fox. Come to a reliable site of games. Just when it was about to come out, Nintendo announced that it was delayed until June 2002. It was made official that it's release was to coincide with Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem's. June 24th, Eternal Darkness was released, with Star Fox now where to see. Nintendo lives up to it's reputation for delaying games again. Star Fox was delayed until September 30th. August, Nintendo bumps up to September 23rd. This is where we are today.
As I said before, Star Fox Adventures definately is based on Ocarina Of Time's. You see a similar A button atack, B for items. It also has the Z-Targeting that Zelda had. The graphics are the most amazing you will see in a long time. The game runs in proggressive scan mode for the TV's that can use it. This game even looks amazing in S-Video and Composite mode. This game deserves to be in the 5 million people who own the Gamecube's collection. This is the best game to come out of Rare, sadly the last, after Rare closed their connections with Nintendo and gone off with the poseurs at Microsoft. Oh well, their loss, we never expected Perfect Dark 0 to come out until 2004. You definately need to try this out, and if you hurry, any retail store has is it in the new demo disk for August 2002, along with Super Mario Sunshine. Buy this as soon as you possibly can!

Along with Eternal Darkness, this game is at the top of my Gamecube dossier. I am about 25% through, and barring any issues down the road, it will probably be right up there with Zelda: The Ocarina of Time as my favorite game to date. This game gets it all right-unbelievable graphics, brilliant sound, near flawless control, an engaging story, and a smart camera. The real kicker here is that the difficulty level of this game is perfect. It is challenging, but not insanely difficult as many platform/adventure games have become over the past few years. Rare will be sorely missed on my Gamecube for sure, especially if Nintendo's in-house projects continue down the path of insane difficulty and poor camera work that we saw in Mario. This is a definite work in the adventure genre...shame on Nintendo for losing this development house. It is going to hurt.
What a shame.

I was really looking forward to this game... I'm very disappointed Rare. This is a game that's all show and no great game-play. Based on a basic Zelda controll scheme, this is a mediocre adventure with little action. For a game that's been in production for 3 years it's incredibly short: you can finish the game in one weekend. The only thing that saved this game from a 1 is it's superior graphics. But if that's what I wanted, I'd save my money for Halo 2. In short, Krystal=hot, this game=not.
