Worth It - Don't Believe These Haters

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 3 / 4

This game is defenitely worth your money. It is very inexpensive at most places like Amazon. This is one of the best multiplayer games ever. There are a lot of things to do in multiplayer. You can race, work together to defeat enemies, and melee battle.

For those who do not know what this is, this is a racing game. Your character, Kirby can absorb the power of enemies as well. You can grab items to increase speed, power, defense, weight, and etc. In multiplayer, you can grab different kind of vehicles. It is really fun.

People like the one player, but that is not the reason to get it. People say it is repetive after a while. The multiplayer capabilities are so good, this game doesn't even need one player. Ten times better than Mario Kart. This perfect in parties and sleepovers when you invite 3-6 friends over. It will last some while.

IGN and Gamespot rated it a 5.2! Don't believe them. They probably didn't even try the multiplayer. I am not a lover or hater of Kirby. I am one you can trust.

Get this game. Awesome for parties!

First of all I wouldn't give this a 10/10 rating. I'd probably give a 8/10. but anyway the cool part is you have 3 modes!
1.Air ride is a simple long course racing multiplayer game.
2.Top ride is a mini racing course with a top-screen view!So you get to see only kirbies heads.
3.City trial is were you free for all ride around the city and grab items. The cool part is that you can get 2 secret cars!Hydra is a very fast machine that is faster than any car. And Dragoon is a machine that goes normal speed but you would amazed at how highn it flies! But you need to get three peices for every machine. THey are hidden in red boxes. Always are in DEEPLY hidden red boxes. Also there is 320 objectives for you to complete on each mode! You also can unlock King Deedede and Metal Knight. But king crap is so slow! Metal Knight is cool!He is fast and above all I think he is 2 in line to be the fastest!
over all BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't hate it, just know how to do it.

Yo, waz up? This game is one of the best I've ever played but I don't think I'd a' liked it if I didn't get some teaching so here are three of it's flaws for newbies and how to get past em'!
The first one is that most people think that to give your machine go juice you have to hold "A" but in Kirby Air Ride your machine goes by itself, the "A" button is the brakes and for turns a booster! The second one is that people think to get the Legendary machines "Hydra" and "Dragoon" you just have to assemble their parts in City Trial and you'll get em' but to really get them you have to win their parts individually by doing tasks! The third one (last but most certainly not least) is let's say you were to win King DeeDeeDee while you were playing City Trial, well then you would be able to use DeeDeeDee in City Trail but not in any other mode, sorry! These are the flaws that could make you HATE the game but I have just told you how to get past them. You'll LOVE the game and it is TOTALLY GREAT, I HIGHLY recommend it!

You would be better to get Mario Kart Double Dash or F Zero

The game is ok, but i would recomend Mario Kart Double Dash or F Zero GX. This game was no stroy or career mode, put neither does Mario Kart Double Dash, but you can compete for trophies in MK:DD
The graphics are decent, but nothing special. The courses are great though. This game does boast of LAN. It's more a of a multiplayer but its still not that fun. It is only for the true Kirby fans out there. I rented Mario Kart Double Dash and Kirbys Air ride for my birthday party and we barly played Kirbys air ride. you might want to give it a rental though, i wouldn't suggest anymore.

This Game Rocks

Ride with Kirby on all sorts of great new warp stars in Kirby's new game Kirby's Air Ride.Great grafics, easy controls, super two player, the onely thing that's just fair is battleing the computer. There's three modes City Trial, Top Ride; and Air Ride.In City Trial you ride around, find warp stars, get items to beat the other player.Ten times the fun in the other modes!:)

A fun and addictive game, but not the best game around

Kirby Air Ride, a cancelled game for the N64, has now arrived on the Nintendo Gamecube with addictive, simple gameplay, three different gameplay modes, and over 300 goals for the player to achieve. Though fun, this game lacks the ability to be one of Nintendo and HAL's greatest games like Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Graphics (7/10) - The graphics for the characters and machines are very nice, and the courses mix in with them perfectly. However, in the City Trial mode, most of the areas are rather blocky and very poorly textured compared to everything else in the game.

Music: (7/10) The music is, unfortunately, not as good as I expected, and though the music fits the courses well, most aren't very memorable, unlike the music in previous Kirby games. However, some cool music has returned from older Kirby games, such as the Kirby Superstar music which plays in the Metal course in Top Ride. I also enjoyed hearing the remixed versions of Kirby March (from the anime) in City Trial. Basically, the reason why it gets a 7 is because of the Air Ride songs.

Gameplay (7/10) In Kirby Air Ride, there are three different modes of play: Air Ride, Top Ride, and City Trial. In Air Ride, the player races with Kirby atop of a Warpstar within 3D environments like the average 3D racer. Unfortunately, Air Ride fails to shine with outstanding gameplay, and I prefer Mario Kart: Double Dash!! over it.

Meanwhile, Top Ride is super fun, at least in my opinion. Basically, it plays like Air Ride, except with a top-down camera view, items instead of copy abilities, and shorter courses. It's quite fast paced, unlike Air Ride, and I think that it's the best mode in the game. My only complaint is that it only lets you use two machines which only differ from each other in control style, making it not matter at all what machine is used by computer players.

City Trial is better than Air Ride, but not as good as Top Ride. In City Trial, you fly around a city looking for upgrades for a machine and then face off your opponents in one of the several stadiums. So far, I haven't played a lot of the stadiums, but my favorite is Kirby Melee, in which everyone tries to defeat as many enemies as possible while music with part of Kirby March in it plays in the background.

The area where the game truly shines is the Checklist, in which you try to achieve 120 goals for each of the three modes. Most of them don't do anything and are achieved just for fun, but the others unlock special features, such as new machines, new music, and new Kirby colors. The goals aren't extremely hard, which makes the game very addictive. As for multiplayer value, I haven't tried it yet due to the fact that I'm the one of the only people in my area who plays Nintendo's games, but to me, single player is fun enough.

In conclusion, Kirby Air Ride is a fun and addictive game for the Nintendo Gamecube, but it doesn't seem to be one of Nintendo's greatest titles due to it's excessive simplicity and the fact that the game's length completely relies on the Checklist. The stadiums also don't seem to be as great as HAL Labratories' previous mini-games. I would reccomend renting the game due to its lack in depth and the fact that the Checklist could probably be completed within three weeks or less, but it's also worth buying unless your chances of buying games is greatly limited.

this is a great game

maybe the concept of the game is for little kids but for me this game never gets old. unlimited free runs are practice for hard racing. the game has a lot to offer. a must have!

Great at first but then kinda boring

this game is pretty simple. Steer with the control stick and boost/suck up enemies with the a button. At first this game was awesome. Later, it started to get a bit boring. Eventually, this game was only fun with friends. The graphics are great, the controls work well, and I like the fact that my thumb will never hurt from pushing down the accelerate button since it automatically acccelerates. This game has 3 modes. Air ride is a regular old race kirby style. Top ride is a race on a small course with the camera giving you a bird's eye view. City trial is where you go around getting power-ups for a certain amount of time. After this, you either race or do some kind of mini game. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this game sucks, but I got bored after maybe 30 hrs, which is a good amount of time. Worth the current price of $20.

Worth the money.............but doesn't catch my eye

Kirby air ride hmmmmm. Well The game itself is pretty hard to explain but I can manage it. First off the graphics. Kirby always has been a very colorful well... um how should I say this uh puffball. And his series has been also pretty colorful. Well Nintendo did a good job of showcasing this and the graphics are pretty smooth so I'll give this one to the game graphics- 7/10. Now the gameplay is decent depending on what you like. Air ride is for people who like regular 3-d racing, top ride is for 2-d old school gamers, and city trial is for people who like to collect items and unlockables. The only reason kirby airride lost 2 stars is because the gameplay can get boring after a while , gameplay- 7/10. But believe me I've written worse reviews.
