If you are looking for this type of game (first person shooter, having alliance accompanying you), buy/rent either Medal of Honor or Ghost Reacon. This game's control is a bit sensitive and especially with sniper rifle, pin-pointing is not possible without constantly adjusting your control, because it just does not stay in one place. It is not as bad as Time Splitter 2 as far as control is concerned. But still, I quit playing after 30 minutes... gave me a headache!. Oh, btw, one time me and several other guys (like 7 others with 2 x-box) trying to play Time Splitter 2 on battle mode and we quit after 10 minutes! It just didn't meet our expectation!
I don't want to criticize other reviewers, but I don't think those who gave 5 stars had played other more fun x-box games prior to this game. If this is the game you play before those two games I mentioned above, you may think it's great. But since I played others already prior to playing this game, I was not impressed with it at all. I regret renting it. I want my money back!
Terrible controls

The graphics are great, but the controls absolutely stink. If the controls were the same like for the James Bond games it would be great. Unfortunately the controls are terrible and I dont recommend this game because of that. I have been playing video games for 12 years now and I couldnt even make the guy move straight or aim straight.
Dont get too high folks

The only reason some even love this game is because of the political situation U.S and Iraq had since the start of March. People, this game is by far arcade-like than a near-simulation. I know most of you people/gamers know this but what's the point? I prefer Battlefield 1942 more than this one. Battlefield gives you more weapons, options to drive vehichles, plus many different weapons. The missions are also too over the top. There was no mission at all ordering Special Forces to save the Emir of Kuwait. He left the night war began, and was taken to the Saudi Border sorrounded by his most trusted National Guards. Plus neither Kuwait City nor Baghdad looked that Ancient! OK....maybe Baghdad but Kuwait had Skyscrapers, very wide roads and no Arabian architectural buildings at all. Hence: this game was rushed and not thought out! The iraqi army, just for argument's sake, didnt wear beige or brown army unifroms but green! Dark green to be more exact! And where was the Republican guards in the Baghdad mission? You know that only Republican guards guard the capital, HENCE: Dark green unifroms, white belts, AK-47U rifles (only they have it) and red Hats. PLus, what really got me mad was the fact that there were no instant battle modes. And the fact that the maps or locations werent clearly tohught about and werent in the proper places or details. The thing that really made me laugh was killing general Aziz. Hello?? doesnt the word "Still Alive" ring any bell? And where were the tank missions? ooo I forgot, 1 mission only. And incase environmentals didnt mention it already, look at the media, there's no hilly landscape in Iraq, only near kirkuk in the north, but everyone knows that it wasnt involved in 1991 gulf war. I hope desert sabre will BE ATLEAST apercentage close to Battlefield than it was with this game. Conclusion: Dont waste your precious money.
boring corny and stupid

I have found conflict desert storm to be a fairly diffcult game to play. The graphics are ok. It is very hard to aim the rifle i think it was an m16, you can't run and shot easliy. I had it on the easy level and i could not get the half way point. If you fail to complete the mission the game has to be reloaded it takes two to three minutes. There are no checkpoints along the way.
If i had to do it over i would not have bought desert storm. I would wait until november 15 for metal of honor to come out or the new james bond game to come out, which if it is anything like the first Bond game (agent under fire) it is a can't miss game.
Less than mediocre

This game looked great.Going through warzones with cool weaponry and some driveable vehicles here and there.I then bought this game and this is what a realized:the graphics are outdated looking, the aiming is horrible, the team commanding is not that fun(you feel like you barely even have a team.)Also the bullets look like lazers going across the screen. This also looked cool because you could be SAS and Delta Force:the only difference was SAS had British accents, and Delta Force had American.
I would recommend SOCOM II or Ghost Recon over this bad.

OK i might be the only one here but I really do think this game sucks Iv tried to deny it for so long but I cant hold it in any longer!#1 This is probably the worst game I have ever played graphicly(belive me Iv played alot of those). Its like "why does everyone look the same?".Although I must say there is a pretty nice array of weapons but they feel so repetetive, I think one weapon in the entire game is silenced! Also I think this game could be pretty good if your squdmates werent such idiots, they dont even follow your commands!but 2 player is good.
really bad

Your first clue as to how bad this game will prove is when you begin a 2 player multiplayer game and one of the players sits able to do nothing in a prison cell until you spend 15 minutes finding the prison. The graphics are horrid and the game play is lame with mindless searching in circa-1990 graphics representing a sand storm.

I just got through playing Splinter Cell. This Game was a complete let down. The movement of the soilder is choppy and un-responsive. No realism what so ever. As an arcade shooter its probably OK. If you've played S.C. Don't expect much!
Ok game Unless........................

ok, in CDS you play as four guys in the military, who are friggin' stupid. I mean, when you compare this to a game like
Socom, it starts to make you wonder, why am i even playing Desert Storm? The graphics.... horrible. They are N64 quality
and the cutscenes are just as bad as the graphics. Your teammates... not such a big help. When you tell them to hold their fire and a Iraqi is right next to them blowing their brains out, what do they do? Sit there getting shot. The game isn't realistic. When your shot in the face, your still alive. Sure it helps you but its unrealistic. And when you use an anti air craft missle thing and use it on the tanks, nothing happens!
I was never in the military but don't grenades damage tanks, and shooting them in the side should hurt them. But no. If you want to play desert storm, invite 3 friends over. Oh yeah, the menu screens... Craptastic! With the horrible presentation, bad ai, lack of realism and strategy leaves this game to warn people to probably rent it.... Or not
