My mom bought this game for me for my 13th birthday and I thought it would be boring. However, once I started playing the game, I found it to be very addictive. I kept playing! This game isn't as easy as you might think. It is actually very hard. If you like mysteries I would definitely recommend this game!

Ok I've played and finished all the games and am awaiting the new one. These games are great!!! They are suspenseful and fun for girls 10 & up. The Final Scene is one of my favorites. I reccomend Ghost dogs of moon lake, Secret of Shadow Ranch and I also liked Danger on Deception Island. If you like puzzles and mysteries, you'll like Nancy Drew computer games.

Secret of the Scarlet hand really was a spectacular game. Not only did I just play a game, but I also learned about the ancient Mayan, their kings (like King Pacal) their gods, and their culture. It was really quite fasinating. I also learned about Sonny Joon, who worked at the Beach Hill Museum before Nancy came. Sonny sounded like quite the nusence; for he had an ubsestion with alains and how they "ubducted the Mayan", and also how he had some sweet tooth for the Koko Kringles candy bar. Another thing is that Sonny would mess up all the displays and such at the museum, leaving poor Nancy to clean up all his messes. Secret of the Scarlet hand was a maze of puzzles, and you had to test your knowlage on the ancient Mayan. At the end of the game, Nancy became face-to-face with....A MUMMY!!!! It was said in the game that King Pacal had had a tomb made for the whisper, who had said something bad about Pacal. No one was able to open the tomb, or monolith, but when Nancy did, she had got trapped inside it, and it was only a matter of time before she, like the mummy beside her had, sufficated within the solid stone walls. If time ran out for you, it was bye-bye Nancy. (And to see Nancy's mummy next to the other mummy 700 years later was not a pretty site) Over all, Secret of the Scarlet Hand was a wonderful game for your brain.
The Ending Was Great!

First, I have to say that I am 35 years old, and I still love these Nancy Drew games! I had read all of the books in this series when I was a kid, so when I saw that there were computer games based on the books, I just had to try them out. Now I'm hooked!
One of the best features of these particular games is that you get to choose the level of difficulty (although I suggest that regardless of your age, you start at the beginner level, as these games are harder than you would first imagine). Another wonderful feature is the graphics - you easily get drawn into the story line, and feel as if you're Nancy Drew, teen detective.
This particular game is divided into 3 days, and you must solve certain puzzles before you can move on. This is different from most other N.D. games, as they are usually more free-flowing - but there is a reason for this, and it's part of the story line.
I don't want to tell you too much, as I don't want to spoil the fun, but suffice it to say that there is a great twist at the end...
If you loved reading Nancy Drew in your younger years, or you are enjoying them as a "young adult" now, you will absolutely love playing these games!
Best Game Ever!

I have all of the Nancy Drew games, but I thought this one was the best game yet! I also thought it was the easiest. I got this game for my 11th birthday, and finished it in about 9 hours. The graphics were great, and the hints were much more helpful than in the other games. I am looking forward to the next game in the series!

...and I knew it wouldn't be the last. Very very fun. Don't think Nancy Drew is just for girls, guys can play and love the game as well. I am living proof of that.
The game itself really isn't that hard, it is just some of the puzzles can be very tricky (I don't like puzzles) and that is the only 'beef' I have with the game, and most mystery games.
Now, back to the game itself.. intriguing storyline, suspicous characters and they all got something to hide. Search for clues while interrogating suspects.. explore the resort, run errands, break into locked rooms without getting caught, disable alarms, and SNOOP.. and that is just the tip of the iceburg.
If you like mystery games, Nancy Drew is for you! Her games aren't overly hard, and they are very fun. Even if you aren't a mystery fan, try it! You'll love it. Try them all! You will become a Nancy Drew fan, trust me.. I did.
My daughter and I had a blast solving this game!

I'm always looking for fun things to do together with my daughter (age 10), and this game sure fills the bill. We played it over the long Thanksgiving weekend, and it kept us on the edge of our seats the whole time. My husband actually joined in too, after he came in to see what all the laughing and shrieking was about. I'm getting my daughter one of the other Nancy Drew games for Christmas (or am I getting it for me?)

This game rules. It is way longer than The Haunted Carousel but it's definitely worth it. The puzzles like the Mayan number display and the temple quizzes were challenging but very fun and I learned a lot! I never really thought I would like the game considering it was a gift and I wasn't really interested in the Mayan culture, but once I played I just became attached! I really suggest this game if you like scary stuff (don't ask). You'l know what I'm talking about soon enough!
Good game and cryptic

I've been reading reviews and many of them are for the wrong games. This is for the Tower mystery. You're in a ski lodge that was formerly the home of a wealthy recluse when a storm strands you. There is practically no one else there except a few eccentric suspects. Hidden in the tower is a secret and it's not easy to solve the puzzles. It took me weeks and I am a grown adult. I had to resort to the message boards for help. As the other ones, it's a good game with excellent graphics, that teaches critical thinking and inductive reasoning. You'll never guess the ending. Explore secret rooms, the hidden tower, and an old ski lift apparatus. It's just fun. If your kid solves this in three hours like I had read, you have either a liar or a genius. It took me a few weeks of sporadic play and I was completely stumped a few times. I've also played Danger on Deception Island, Haunted Mansion, as well as this one, and I plan to do them all. Good features not offered in other games include: easy and hard levels of play (which basically adjusts the amount of hints you get), and a do over option that keeps you from having to start over and replay massive sections. For today's undersentitive youth, this is a much better alternative to things like Lara Croft tomb raider, which I also have and think is just a boring manual dexterity test. Nancy uses her brain and isn't on the run from the law.
Super. =]

This is the first ND game I ever played. I got it when I was eight but at that time it was a little too scary and challenging. But when I picked it up at age eleven I was hooked. Me and one of my best friends play it over and over again loving it each time.
So basically Nancy goes to visit a friend in her cabin by the lake. Haha no movie refrence intended for anyone who caught that. Well anyway your friend isn't there and a tree is keeping you from leaving. So Nancy sets out to discover the mystery of a gangster Malone and his dogs that just won't leave. Yes-I mean ghost dogs. You go through this game with fun challenges such as finding your way out of a burning shed, or other challeneges that prove to be well-challenging!
I garuntee you'll love this game even though it's an old one. There's no way you'll be able to put it down so it's well worth your money! I started playing it when I was eleven and I still replay it now that I'm thirteen! [I reccommend ages 10+]
