My opinion

Secrets Can Kill had lousy graphics, but I'll forgive them because it was their first game, after all. The plot was good, the puzzles were OK, and it was kind of easy.

Stay Tuned For Danger is one of my favorites. The plot is awesome, the puzzles are great, and the ending is OK. The graphics were good.

Message in a Haunted Mansion is one of the more boring NDs. The plot isn't particularly interesting, the puzzles aren't particularly interesting, and the ending isn't particularly interesting.

Treasure in the Royal Tower was OK. The ending was cool, though, and if you're interested in French history, specifically in Marie Antoinette, then you'll like this one.

The Final Scene was a good one. It was fun, challenging, and the puzzles were good. The graphics were great, even though I really don't think such a popular theater would be so run-down.

The Secret of the Scarlet Hand was fun, educational, and had great graphics. If you're interested in the Mayans, then this is the game for you. I warn, you though, it has a VERY creepy ending... if you're squeamish, then don't watch the ending.

The Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake was the very first ND I ever played, and one of my favorites. The puzzles range from easy to hard in it, so I never got bored. I got stuck, though, and ended up consulting a walkthrough. The plot was great, and the graphics were awesome.

The Haunted Carousel is another one of my faves. The graphics are REALLY good, and this is the game where Her Interactive began providing cellphones. The puzzles are fun, and then ending is fun.

Danger on Deception Island is a good one. I like the idea of the orca and everything. Very good graphics and storyline and OK puzzles. The ending was good.

The Secret of Shadow Ranch was fun. The plot is good, and you get to ride a horse and feed the farm animals. The puzzles were fun, and the graphics were great, and having that phantom horse running around was great. The ending was good, too.

The Curse of Blackmoor Manor is one of my top faves. The puzzles were nice and hard. When you completed a puzzle, you got something for it. Great graphics and storyline. The puzzles were great, even though some of Janes puzzles do get a little trying. I was kind of disappointed on who the culprit actually turns out to be, though, but it's still a really great game.

The Secret of the Old Clock was OK. Since it is supposed to be in 1930, there is no cellphone. The graphics definitely went down. There are no "I feel as though someone is watching me" moments, except for when Nancy scares herself in that secret passageway. The mini-golf was easy, and kind of pointless. Basically, I wouldn't recommend this one.

Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon was good. They introduced a cameraphone in this one. I didn't like the graphics very much, but the puzzles were good. The ending was fun.

So, basically, from STD to CBM, the graphics were great. But after that, they changed the way they made them up, and the graphics really went down.

Nancy's best virtual mystery yet!

The Her Interactive Nancy Drew games have improved with each new release. Nancy Drew Treasure in the Royal Tower is the perfect combination of mystery and complications. The puzzles on the Junior level aren't so hard, that they drive you crazy, but not so easy that you scoff. The mystery is intriguing and exciting. Each suspect was more suspicious as the game went on, and only the smoothest of detectives will be able to predict who is the culprit!

This mystery has less holes then Secrets can Kill, and each new clue leads to the next. It has the excellent case of 'Mansion' and the complex characters of Stay Tuned for Danger. I rarely found myself at a loss for places to go or people to talk to.

A true Nancy Drew mystery, with everything from sneaking into a locked up room, to questioning the suspects about everything! Bess, George and Ned are always there to help you, though sometimes they BOTH (Bess and George are together on George's phone) give you the same hint. Be observant and stay on your toes...you never know, that little out of place panel or odd door, may lead you to the successful ending to the case!

Hint: Remember to stay calm, puzzles and upseting happenings should always make you think harder, not frantically. Also, thoroughly search every room for a hint or clue. Never disregard a book or a piece of paper. Check in regularly with Bess, George and Ned, and you will stay on the right track. Happy Snooping!

One of the Best!!

This Nancy Drew game is one of the best software that HerInteractive has made! The puzzles are not too hard, but challenging enough to be fun. The setting is fun and the characters are never boring to watch. I am ten years old, but that doesn't mean that adults or other younger children can't play this game. My friend's sister is five years old, my brother is nine years old and they both play this game.

I am a a29 year old mom, who's been a Nancy Drew fan forever. My 7 year old son and I can sit for hours trying to figure out the clues, and find our way down the secret passages. This game is the most fun I've had in a long time, and is a must, not just for girl sleuths, but for boys and grown up Nancy Drew fans alike. It really makes those pages of the popular books come to life, and I'm hoping I get another title for my birthday!

I have played every single Nancy Drew game and I have to say that 'Final Scene' is without a doubt the best. This game kept me on the edge of my seat! I am an aunt of 9 nieces and you can bet what they are getting for Christmas. They think these games rock too. Well done!

My favorite ND game!-Treasure in the Royal Tower

This game is my favorite Nancy Drew game, by far. I am older than most who play these games (I have daughters who love ND games!), but I don't have alot of extra time, and I don't enjoy too much violence or spookiness. These games are fun, but also make you think about things a little differently in order to solve the puzzles and situations that Nancy finds herself in. These games teach great critical thinking skills, for those parents out there who aren't quite sure about them.

This particular game takes place in an old hotel/ski resort, in the middle of a terrible snow storm. There are so many different places to go, and different types of puzzles to solve. I recommend it for people of all ages looking for some good, clean fun, but who don't have months to dedicate to solving it.

... Someone just climbed out of my wardrobe." I laughed out loud when the Simone, one of the colorful characters in this game, said that. I am totally addicted to these games, and HerInteractive just keeps pumping them out and making them better and better. It's interesting that some people criticized it for being too easy... others for being too hard. I guess it depends on what things you're good at. I was very happy that this game did not include one of those sliding tiles puzzles (like Secrets Can Kill and Message in a Haunted Mansion) as I'm terrible at those puzzles. Also, I was pleased that the part where you have to solve two puzzles to get to a particular thing remained solved, so that you don't have to solve those puzzles again to get in there the next time(unlike the wall panel in Nancy's bedroom in Message in a Haunted Mansion, among others).

Also, like in Treasure in the Royal Tower, Ned, Bess and George are actually useful and give good hints (Another funny thing was when asking for Bess and George for help after doing the game on the "Senior Detective" level, they gave some sassy answer about finding it out on my own, being that I'm a senior detective... I applaud the increasing sense of humor in the games).

In any event, I do love all of these games and I thank HerInteractive for giving me hours of shared fun with my daughter (I'm a 40-year old man, and I love these games at least as much as she does).

"Treasure in the Royal Tower" promising, but with flaws

"Treasure in the Royal Tower" was my fourth Nancy Drew game and my favourite so far. Out of the four games I've played ("Final Scene," "Secrets Can Kill," "Message in a Haunted Mansion, "Treasure in the Royal Tower"), "Treasure in the Royal Tower" had the most satisfying plot, interesting characters, clever dialogue, and the most cool places to explore.

Nancy is on vacation at a ski resort in Wisconsin built by an eccentric millionaire. The resort is built to look like a castle, complete with a tower that was imported from a chateau in France. French queen Marie Antoinette used to spend a good deal of time in the tower, and one of the hotel guests believes that the tower holds an important secret that could clear Marie Antoinette's name. When you arrive, a killer blizzard leaves everyone trapped in the castle, and the castle's library has been vandalized. Besides yourself, there are a number of suspects: Jacques, the Olympic ski instructor, Lisa, the photojournalist, Dexter, the caretaker, and Mrs. Hotchkiss, the eccentric Marie Antoinette scholar. As the game progresses you will learn a great deal about French Revolutionary history and Marie Antoinette in particular.

The locations in the game are varied and realistic: an imposing lobby, a comfy lounge with a blazing fireplace, the ransacked library, Nancy's room, castle corridors that lead to dead ends, twisty stone stairwells, an antique elevator, a shed, a secret garden and the Royal Tower. Along the way you'll slip along secret passageways, climb elevator shafts, and ascend into the Royal Tower to find Marie Antoinette's secret, but...BE CAREFUL. Someone doesn't want you to succeed in your search: you are deliberately trapped in the elevator, hit over the head, and locked outside to freeze to death. Only your quick thinking and detective skills can save Nancy!

Buyer Beware:
I *loved * this game, but I have to give it only three stars because I had HORRIBLE problems getting the game to run. It would crash constantly in the middle of conversations or leave me stuck at a certain point in a hallway before giving me an error message of "Invalid CHUNK file." I had to restart the game 25-30 times before I could beat it, and it would cause my computer to crash as well. There is no patch available on HerInteractive's website. I changed a number of settings and configurations and the problem didn't go away. The most frustrating thing was that it wouldn't let me beat the game: after the villain revealed their identity, a chase scene was supposed to follow, but the computer would never return control to me and the baddie got away every time. When I selected the "Second Chance" feature, the game would inevitably lock up and my computer would crash again. Very, very frustrating.

Best Game So Far!!!

I've played all the Nancy Drew games and like this one the best. You see, Nancy has to help find her friend Maya who has been kidnapped. The other characters in the game are good. This game is great because it is a little bit different from the other ones. The start of the game has you watch a kind of movie that tells you what the story is and you realize what the mystery is and that is very excited. My mom didn't play the game but she thought it was really good when I had her look at things or needed help.

Nancy did it again!!

This game imerses you into Nancy Drew's life. You become the sleuth. You feel like you are actually there in the cabin, walking around in the woods. You can almost smell the mustyness of the cabin. It it an addicting game you are determined to play until you finish. It is such an intriguing creative game, with a great surprise ending!
