Can anyone tell me how to get JJ's autograph? I've tried everything I could think of, but nothing seems to work.

Another Nancy Drew

These are a favorite in the home. Even though we have all of them, they are each different and provide hours of entertainment. Skills are learned while solving puzzles some include spatial manipulation of puzzle pieces and roman numerals. Great source of fun and learning. Also a desire to read the actual book and see what is different and the same between book and game.

Average game, probably worth the cost.

Some parts are fun to play. Even at the Senior detective level, it's a little too easy; not as much deducting or sleuthing as other Nancy Drew games. It's probably worth the cost, so I'd still recommend it.

Another great Nancy Drew game from Her Interactive, Inc.

This game, by far, is one of my favorites. What drew me to it was that Nancy was doing her sleuthing in Paris. Although you really don't learn much about the "City of Love", it is cool to be able to travel around someplace new and you also get to explore the Underground Catacombs. Sleuthing in Europe is also what drew me to Nancy Drew - Curse of Blackmoor Manor.

What I liked best about the game was that it was a little longer than earlier ND games. I also liked how in this game, there is a mystery within a mystery to solve. This game also had a bit of humor to it when Nancy had to try to pronounce the name of a photographer she met at a cafe. Apparently she skipped French in high school. It was also funny when she and the photographer were arguing over the pronuciation of her roommate's name, J.J. And finally, I applaud HI for not making Minette's fitting model, J.J. Ling, a size 2. Minette designs clothing for full-figured girls and J.J. has to remain a size 12. (Which means she can pig out on mint chocolate chip cookies if she looses weight.)

As far as the puzzles are concerned, some were difficult, some were easy, and one was tedious and frustrating: Nancy had to collect 9 bugs that were running about in Minette's studio. Another game that is a bit frustrating is when Nancy has to develope photographs in a dark room. It is not easy when you can't see anything but there is a cheat code to it to by-pass the puzzle. And the cheat code also gets you an easter egg. When in the darkroom, just flush the toilet several times and, Voila, the pictures are done. However, if you decide not to use the cheat code, each time you make a mistake, you will cause an explosion. I loved the end, though. This is the first game that I have played where Nancy Drew actually gets physical with the villian. She actually ends up in a fight.

Overall, this game is fun for all. My 8-yo daughter enjoys playing the game and has been able to get through them with some help from me and Universal Hints. I highly recommend this game for anyone who enjoys Nancy Drew and mysteries.

Fun!

This was the first Nancy Drew computer game I ever bought. I was originally looking for Everquest, when this one popped out at me. I hadn't known before that Nancy Drew was a computer game. So, I ditched Everquest and brought this home. Boy, am I glad that I did! It gave me thirteen hours of fun! The plot was a bit eccentric, as were the charcters, but that's easy to overlook.

Unlike some of the other reviewers, I enjoyed the errands you were given. It made it feel like you really were an undercover detective. After all, Minette thinks you're an intern. Do you really think she's going to ask you to run around town and ask people questions? No! Plus, the errands give you a chance to meet all of the suspects.

The ending was slightly dissapointing. I wasn't happy with the explanation of Minette's mask. Overall, a nice, clean game with a bit of education. A nice tool for babysitters like me!

Not the best ND but it's up there.

Hey, I'm 43 and I love ND games. This was a good one but not one of the best. Still, it was entertaining and the puzzles were pretty easy except for the total dark room. That requires sticky notes on your monitor. LOL

Still took me 2 days to get through.

I have every ND game, and out of all of them, I'd rate this on a scale from 1-10, about a 7-1/2.

pretty good

I am 12 years old and i finished this game in about a week. If i had enough willing i would probably have finidhed the game in a day or 2. This game was pretty good but it isnt there best. I just felt that there werent enough puzzles and if there were they were pretty easy. Also in the game you dont really get alot of help. The first day was fun but the following days were pretty boring cause there wasnt that much to do.Also there wasnt that much excitmeant. Like you think its someone than you think its the other one. They waited for the excitment at the very end. Still though I had fun but the reason i didnt finish it in a few days is because it was boring and it didnt really appeal to me. But if you want the game it is your call. Just thought you would like to know how it was to a 12 year old. So dont get your hopes up all the way.

Good, But Not Great...

I have played all of the Nancy Drew games, and was expecting great things from this game. I really did enjoy it, but it was somewhat different from the other games. You play Nancy (of course) who goes to Paris to assist a nutty fashion designer. Here is my take of the game.

Story: The story was interesting. It came across as being slightly far-fetched, but most ND stories are. That is part of what makes them so much fun. The story was developed well, and all of the characters were very engaging if a bit weird.

Puzzles: None of the puzzles in this game were all that difficult. I did have trouble with one, but I never had to consult a walk through or anything like that. Most of them were just common sense and were a moderate level of difficulty.

Graphics: The graphics were very realistic and enjoyable. I especially enjoyed exploring the catacombs and swimming underwater.

Ending: VERY far-fetched. So far-fetched that it was a little painful actually. Not the best ending that I think they could have come up with.

Overall: This game is well worth the money if you can get past the ending and the fact that the puzzles are not all that difficult. If you are new to the ND games, I wouldn't start with this one. Start with games 2-13 and I think you will be better off. This game is probably better left to experienced ND gamers who are loyal enough to forgive any flaws!! Like me... Hope I helped!

Not the best, but still fun

I gave this game 4 stars simply for the fact that it is in my favorite location: Paris, France. The setting is great, and the characters are interesting. The music is rather monotanous, but not bad. The puzzles I found fascinating and fun, not too hard but not too simple. If you are a die hard ND fan than I would definitely recommend buying this game. It is a good game, overall. One of my main 'beefs' with it was the ending--or lack thereof. It seemed rather juvenile and a little on the stupid side. I am sorry to be harsh, but that's the truth of it! :)

My children think that this is the best one of the Nancy Drew games yet.
