Good, but not the best...

Pros:

Graphics were super!
Interesting and fun puzzles.
The confrontation with the culprit was great!

Cons:

Poor character development (esp. Heather and Jing Jing)
Holes in the plot (what were those electrician books doing in the cupboard???)
Not much sightseeing. I had hoped that Nancy would at least see the Eiffel Tower, or Notre Dame, or the Louvre. Instead she goes to a lame flea market and the drippy catacombs...

I still like Last Train and Shadow Ranch the best!

Not Fantastic

I bought this game anticipating a suspenseful mystery much like the other games I had purchased from herinteractive. The only parts I enjoyed were the graphics, ending, and a few of the puzzles. If your a first time buyer of these games, I would recommend Last Train to Blue Moon Canyon or Stay Tuned for Danger instead.

Really fun!!

Me and my friend got the game yesterday night and we beat it by noon of today! So as you can guess its really short! It only took us 11 hours and its supposed to last for 24 hours. Well anyway its really a lot of fun and VERY intresting! I would defiently recomend it! It helps a lot and I mean a lot if you go to www.nancydrewgames.com and go to the message bored! :)

Nancy Drew Rocks

Even though Nancy Drew does rock, this wasn't my favorite game by HerInteractive. I know it takes Herinteractive a lot of pressure and time to create these games. My feeling is that The Nancy Drew game series is starting to decline. All the Nancy Drew games I have played I would rate 5 stars. Danger by Design disapointed me due to lack of diolague and how many things did not add up. One example is the why did someone not explain why s/he had a certain book. Of course the graphics are AMAZING and the characters have their charm as always, and Nancy Drew is still the best. I just hope that Herinteractive does a better job on their next game "Creature of Kapa Cave."

Nancy Drew; a fun game

I liked how you could go underwater and try to find things. I also liked how you had to bake cookies and make sundaes. Another really cool thing was that you could buy stuff for Minette and yourself. I didn't like how the tea was so hard, though.I couldn't figure it out,but finally I got it.I liked that you had to fight Minette, too. It was funny that she had an alien tatoo on her face.Over all,Danger By Design was a fun game.

HER Interactive has really dumbed down their game play

Having played all Nancy Drew games, I really was disappointed with Danger By Design. Where graphics are still great, like another reviewer states, where's the Lourve, Eiffel Tower and other popular landmarks in Paris? Just a guess but HER Interactive is trying to grab a much younger, inexperienced audience. Omitting all the great facets of previous games (challenge, puzzles, trivia/facts, character development) has really made Danger By Design boring and uncaptivating. Can't believe they didn't take advantage of the french language in this episode! They have resorted to dull repetition. The majority of the HER effort is focused primarily on teaching newbies how to play their game and pitching previous episodes which is fine but those of us who appreciate NANCY DREW have been abandoned, left out of the equation. Majorly disappointing bummer of a game. Maybe kids in 4th grade and under will enjoy this more? Doubt it, it moves way too slowly to hold their fast edit attention. Creature of Kapu Cave is next but I'm not optimistic, nor should other veteran sleuths be.

Could Have Been Better

This game is very awsome I'll give them that, but as far as the ending part goes? It could have been better. It is very hard and I'm lucky I beat it. I highly recomend this game to anyone but just a hint when you go to the first table in the park buy the book on ichi do and read it and make notes!

From a teens point of view...

well its very interesting things what you have to do in this ND game... great overall but not that hard for me and i am only 14.
the good thing is that the graphics fabulous... i think this ND game is better for kids/teens than adults because kids would find it very amusing and also interesting, but for adults it might NOT be exciting at all.

Disc Was Defective-Could Not Install: Got Second Set OK: Game 3 Stars

1 Rating: 1, Useful: 5 / 7

I've installed countless video games including other Nancy Drew games without any problems. The first disc looks like it had some sort of wierd water damage and did not install properly. Perhaps there is a problem with the disks they used or maybe just some batches? Another reviewer said they had easily cracked discs. hmmm.

Ok, I got the new set of disks and they worked fine, and based on the game I would give it three stars now but am unable to edit the rating! It had good puzzles and was pretty straight forward but not as good as some of the other Nancy Drew games (Blackmoor Manor, Shadow Ranch or Scarlet Hand). The subject matter seemed kind of boring. I'm a big fan of the other games that have spooky ghosts, wierd legends and interesting informational storylines, but this was just the case of the psycho fashion designer. I'm looking forward to the next one, which takes place in Hawaii!
