Very scary for young kids

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 4 / 4

We got the Wii System because of its appeal for families. I (32 year old mom) love this game but... it can be quite scary for younger children. This game is not yet rated as I am writing this, and I thought that it looked like a family game. Cartoons, plungers, cow milking, etc... But, there are some VERY scary characters. Many of the scenes take place in cemetaries, and skeletons, spirits, and nightmare-like creatures are frequent. There are scenes where bunnies hit each other on the head with clubs with spikes, and then you get to run a marble through their brain. I recommend this game just as strongly as the other people who have posted reviews, I just am putting a little warning out there for parents who have squeamish kids (mine are 6 and 8 year old girls), you may need to play this game after the kids are in bed or not buy it at all.

Excellent Wii Game

Rayman Raving Rabbids makes the best use of the Wii Remote of all the launch games I've played. It has short, simple games, each of which uses the controller in a different way. Pretty much every feature of the Wii Remote is used creatively and to a great advantage. And the game is quite fun too. It's got a lot of bathroom humor, but if you're okay with that you'll be fine. Great game for just about any age, especially to see what the revolution in gaming is capable of.

Several hours of enjoyment

All the little games in this title are fun and enjoyable for all ages. Overall it is a bit too easy for me (the adult), and a bit hard for the kids but they get through most of the minigames with enough tries. Some of the minigames are insanely hard, but luckily you only have to beat 3 of 4 games per level. All things considered my two sons and I had a blast for an entire week playing this game. Sadly the game is VERY short, even with the bonus games you get to play after beating it, giving us about 20 hours of highly enjoyable playtime. If you can resell it for no more than a $20 loss you'll find it to have been well worth the price. But paying $50 and keeping it is not a good value, as play life is short, and reply value (unless you want to keep it to entertain others) is null.

Not going to lie. This game is a gimmick; very disappointing.

I have completed the game and traded it in for store credit shortly after, thankfully breaking even, as I got this game originally for half price on a holiday sale. This game does not meet the hype. For those of you who don't know, there is NO story line or plot. All this game is is 15 days of mini games, 5 games per day. I also might add, for multiplayer, you have to complete the mini games in single player first in order to use them in multiplayer, whats the point of that? Why make a mini game game, and make you unlock the games, there isn't even a plot.

Trust me, you will be disappointed. The mini games are repetative, use the same basic controls for most part, and they are relatively quick games. Another thing about the controls; most mini games use the same motions, there is some variety but for the most part there are different mini games that use the same controls, for example launching a rabbit by rappidly alternating up and down with the wiimote and nunchuk, or making rayman run using the same motion described above.

As for single player fun, there is little replayability for the games. As for multiplayer, you and your buddies will probably get bored unlocking the games as it is, and once you actually have them unlocked to play, they aren't that fun after playing them a few times.

So overall, this game has very slim longevity. If you are looking for a good adventure game, get Zelda. If you are looking for a multiplayer party game, hold your money for Wii Play, Wario Ware, or Mario Party 8. This game simply does not meet the hype.

A Must Have Launch Title

I enjoy this game to an unbelievable degree. It makes extremely good use of the Wii controller and nunchuck.

Multiplayer is fun and addictive.

Single player is also addictive and offers enough variation that it makes you want to keep on playing.

We have put over 10 solid (and I mean solid) hours of game time in on this game and we're about 3/4 of the way through.

Awesome fun no matter who you are.

Dang, I was a little apprehensive when my wife first mentioned this title but I am glad we bought it because this game is so addicting. At first when you play it, you ask yourself what the heck you're doing because it seems so childish at first. But then you realize just how much fun this game ends up being. Its great because its nothing but a straight selection of mini games that are very intuitive and easy to pick up on. I would defenitely reccommend this game to anyone that wants to play a game that can be picked up and played for a few minutes at a time and offers a decent amount of challenge. Its great to play when you are surrounded by friends because its so easy to play and that lends itself to instant challenges amongst all player types. I think this game would be good for kids too but I don't have any and can't give personal experience. However, there is no violence in this game so I suppose no one could whine about violence in any review of this game.

Funniest Wii game ever!

My family got this for Christmas. There were over 50 mini-games! My Mom like the dancing ones. they are always located on the far right side of the field. As for myself, I enjoy the one where you slap the Rabbid that's singing out of tune. It's Hilarious to watch the guy out of tune! Yes, you need the nunchuck to play. It holds up to 3 files. I believe that this game is also non-violent. Instead of guns, they use plungers!! Please buy this game.

This game is cool! I beat the game, but I still play it constantly. The game is full of twisted, but hilareous, minigames that I still laugh out loud about. You can give Rayman several outfits ranging from a Grandma, to a Gangster. For everyone that has a Wii, THIS GAME IS A MUST HAVE!!

A crowd pleaser but missing polished elements

Everything you have probably read about this game in reviews so far is mostly true. The games deal out a lot of variety and the rabbids are hysterical and, for me, still haven't gotten old.

Slight gripes: (depending on your stance, could be big ones)
-there are some sound issues that I seen talked about in many discussion boards, mostly popping during the intro and cut scenes
-a solid party mode (ie keeping score, a Mario Party like apparatus, some over arching objective that any member can achieve or fail at, like reaching the end (being a "winner") simply does not exist
-loading times between each and every game and between game and the menu.
-minimal selection of songs for the dance-themed game
-strained storyline at best, one of the worst endings in any video game I have played, easy, just don't play it for an engaging storyline.
-obvious lack of polish in certain elements (for example, after a shooting gallery style game, the "successful" cut scene is just two models over a pink background and it is the same scene for every level of that type. No attention is paid to your current locale

Some Pros - besides its being an overall hilarious game that makes good use of the Wii-mote and is less frantic and absurd (and no wait) than Warioware: Smooth Moves (the King of mini-games)

-excellent sound design, the funny rabbid vocals are well used and the atmospheric sound is impressive.
-easy to pick up for guests or visitors
-good amount of games that can be played, co-op or competitively, by two to four people simultaneously

Great usage of the wiimote constantly!

The game is all well-made mini-games that use the wiimote innovatively and amazingly! With fifteen levels of five games each you will have plenty to do. Even after completing all the games you can still win bonuses and extra features in score attack mode. This game also has a great replay value because after unlocking the mini-games you can compete against your friends or highscores online in every mini-game. The games are incredibly diverse and amazing with increasing difficulty as you progress through the levels. Normally however, there will be one or two games in a levels that may only take half of a minute to complete and others that will take several attempts to finish. Some games will leave your arms sore from PHYSICAL EXERTION (in a video game?!?!?!). There are also incredible shooting games at the end of each level (no blood, you shoot plungers at bunnies). Finally, there are routine "dancing" stages that test your rhythm and will USUALLY take several tries.

The only consequences to this game are as follows:

1. There is little plot and the plot that their is is only explained well if you read the game manual, but you'll probably be enjoying yourself too much to notice
2. The Score Attack mode may take a wile to understand how it works
3. If your not a big fan of minigames...well you wont like this so much

Either way, those things are much less important than they may sound (besides #3) and I would STRONGLY recommend buying this game if you are a fan of minigames or just a fan of having fun!
