Pure enjoyment from start to finish

Rayman Raving Rabbids for the Wii is a wonderful game, with mini-games ranging in quality from good to great. It easily makes the short list of games I'd recommend that anyone should own for the Wii.

It's also a game that takes full advantage of the capabilities of the Wii controller, in ways that feel intuitive and immersive. I know the game is available on other systems, but I can't imagine what the point would be; it would lose far too much without the Wii controller.

The mini-games themselves are creative and unique, and the quality is very high. In my opinion, there are no duds in the bunch, and many of them are excellent. There's a generous assortment of mini-games and there are a number of variations on many of the games, so replay value is also high. And even setting aside the multiple modes, the shooting sequences are enjoyable enough (and funny enough) to play many times over.

Finally and most importantly, the entire game is shot through with a sly, playful sense of humor. It's so pervasive that even the littlest things in the game are fun. Something as simple as watching a slack-jawed rabbid demonstrate the proper Wii controller technique for a mini-game is enjoyable--and that's before you even start playing.

"Instant classic" is an overused phrase, but in this case it really does fit. If you have a Wii and haven't played this game yet, you're missing out.

The greatest game ever for 7 year-old boys!

I bought my son (7) a Wii for X-mas, and with that came a lot of the games he asked Santa Claus for (Mario Galaxy, Mario/Sonic Olympics, MySims, etc.). However, Santa read the reviews for this game and decided it would be one my boy would like.

Upon opening this game under the Christmas tree, my son looked at it oddly and said, "Oh, this looks cool" (he was trying to be polite).

Of course he went though the Wii games he asked for first, and eventually I encouraged him to try Rayman's Raving Rabbids. That was nine days ago, and he has not taken it out of the Wii since!

Bottom line: this game is DREAM if you are a 7 year-old boy, or if you are a parent who has the same maturity level. ;-)

You cannot go wrong with this game. In reading the reviews, many said it was "hilarious". To a man, I thought that video games can only be so funny, but I literally laughed out loud at most games. The best part of this game is that you "unlock" game-by-game. I won't ruin it for you, but the story-line is actually quite entertaining.

There are some games on here that my son is better at than I, and vice-versa. Thus we teamed up and finally freed Rayman--and had the times of our lives doing it!

Not a rave review

Rayman Raving Rabbids is a good mini-game collection, but ultimately its short length, with only a few varieties of games detracts from the package. In terms of actual games there may be different versions, (for example the on-rails shooting game has several boards based on different locations) but it's still the same couple of gameplay types. (Let's get technical: 75 mini-games includes 15 dancing & 10+ rail shooting, i.e. 1/3 of the collection are these 2 games.)
Honestly after renting the game I can't figure out why people went crazy over this. The Rabbids are funny, the graphics are good, and some of the mini-games were fun, but many were sub par. Not OK, straight out bad. Closing the door on Rabbids trying to exit a toilet? C'mon, not only is it a bad mini-game it isn't even remotely fun. Having said that, there are a few great mini-games like the shooting and warthog racing boss battles.
Overall this is an average mini-game collection. Some are quite good and there are a few stinkers. The biggest negative thing I can say is that this game got boring before I cleared the "story" mode (Also, P.S. there is no story). This game is far better than Wii Play with Wii Remote, worse than WarioWare: Smooth Moves.
Rent before you buy.

(Note: Amazon's product listing says "Tame Sharks, Eagles, Rhinos, Spiders, and Angelfish -- each with their own unique capabilities"... uh, no that is not even almost in the game.
In addition "huge, free-roaming environments and epic landscapes that mix reality and cartoons." I don't know about mixing reality and cartoons, but there is ONE location in the entire game, the Colosseum. ONE, singular. Free-roaming usually refers to a GTA style explorable world with missions which this does not have. Also "huge environments" and "epic landscapes" are synonymous, which again this game does not contain. Amazon is still listing misleading and flat out incorrect information a year after the game was released.)

HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!

This game is funny and it has great mini games. The ending was kind of depressing but it was really a good game. The mini games were really creative. It was really funny the way that after he is captured and thrown out into the coliseum, the rabbits start chanting and have tools such as plungers in there hands. The rabbits are so funny the way they scream when they attack you! I really can't wait to get Rayman Raving Rabbids 2.

what's the excitement?

There is so much hype here about this game - like it's a next reincarnation of Budda, or, at the very least, Halo, Wii style. But in reality, this is the game with zero story line, awkward controls and plenty of layman jokes, if that is your style. I guess, Wii developers watched the success of Wii Sports and decided that slapping together bunch of mini-games is all that gamers would ever want.
Maybe if you are 5 year old kid, pimpled teenager who laughs at toilet humor or bored to death housewife, you will enjoy this game. For the rest of us, pass it like a plague.

I hate the dancing game!!!!!

this game is basically a bunch of mini-games combined... some of the games are not too bad but some are just plain stupid... i think its terrible how u actually have to beat the games in story mode first before u can play them... the dancing game is terrible also... it wasn't too bad the first two times... but they you have to keep playing them... i'm on the third or fourth one and i'm just stuck because its hard to do the motions sometimes when you have 7-8 rabbits coming out all at once... i've been at this dance game for about half an hour and i'm stuck cuz i can't beat it... now i can't play the rest of the 82 percent of the game because i'm stuck at one part... this sucks!

Really fun(ny).....but easy

This game is a lot of fun. I mostly liked the plunger bunny shooting version of the game! Great fun.....the dancing gets a little lame. Game is really easy to beat, but it is tons of fun to compete against other friends.

Can get a little repetitive

This is the first game I bought for my wii console. I bought it after reading all the 4 and 5 star reviews. This game is a series of mini games (lots of mini games), story mode dosnt have any story, just alows you to unlock the mini games. Some of the mini games are tough, and most are fun the first or second time you play them, but as other review state the games do get repetitive. Im 40% of the way through the game and already the game has lost all its excitement. At this point you know what the next challange is likely to be.

The graphics and sound effects are great.

I think that the way to get the most out of the game is to play in multi player mode, although you still need to unlock the mini games in story mode and all the games seem to require a numchuck,

A must buy for everyone!

While looking for a new game for my Wii I saw this game and thought it looked kind of stupid at first. Then I saw that it was a multiplayer game. Not many of the games for the Wii are multiplayer. Overall, the reviews were positive, so I got it and I was blown away.
The whole game is based on creative mini games that my friends and I have a ball playing. This game really defines the way you can use the remote control and nunchuk. Two thumbs up!

So Much Fun!

I've waited so long to play this on a Wii. The interactive action between the controllers and the game is SO much more fun than playing on a PS2.

There are times that I felt like the controllers didn't quite mimic my function the way I wanted, but it was probably the user malfunction (me) versus the game.

This game is fun not just for kids, but for those who want to play like a kid, too! Get it and have fun!
