Best Wii Game ever!

I just got the wii for christmas, and right away i bought this thinking
it would be fun.... I WAS RIGHT!! It is the best Wii game i have ever played! People who are saying it has poor control either onlyplayed the first scene, or chose a bad car. I suggest the mazda if you get the game. Best game ever!

Controls need refinement, but still fun

I haven't played any other racing games on the Wii, so I was excited when my wife bought NFS: Carbon for me for Christmas. In the first few hours of gameplay, I struggled to get the controls down. The default controls (using just the remote) seemed unresponsive. I found that the alternate methods were just as unresponsive.

I wish there were an option to try steering with the nunchuk's joystick, rather than having to tilt anything. The joystick is only used in the non-driving interface, usually to control the camera when viewing your car.

As for the rest of the game, I find it pretty entertaining and challenging. The last NFS games I played were Underground 1 and 2. The free roam of NFSU2 was a great addition to the franchise, but the ability to jump straight to a race from the map in Carbon is even better. Also, the reward cards add a different element to the game, allowing you to earn rewards for various gameplay events or actions.

Overall, it is a pretty good game.

Damn Fun!

Having not played any car/driving games in quite a while, I thought I'd give NFS:C a spin. I was pleasantly surprised! The game is really fun. It's fast paced, has good action and can even be a little tense. Yeah, the controls feel awkward at first but after playing for a while you get a good feel for how to drive the cars. I'm driving much much better now than when I first started playing. I suggest starting with a "tuner" car like the Mazda RX-8, because the handling is much better and thus easier to drive.

solid game, sweet controls

Game better than I expected, the wii remote as steering wheel is amazing. Don't rely on the reviews that panned it--the default controls make the game arguably more fun than burnout 4.

It's pretty straightforward--turn the remote left to go left and right to go right. If you're a flailing maniac and you don't have the coordination to handle the remote like a steering wheel then you may want to try another game.

The only use for the alternate control schemes is on the drift tracks, otherwise stick with the default control until you get it. Have patience (yeah, right).

Very solid racing game for Wii. Would have gotten a 5/5 but I want to see what else the Wii has in store, plus no online. 4/5

Great racing game

NFS Carbon is the only racing game I have played for Wii so far. I've read reviews that Excite Truck is better but after getting used to the driving controls of NFS Carbon, I've become fond of the game. The graphics aren't too bad and the gameplay is very similar to all of the other NFS games. What makes the Wii version so much fun is that it feels a lot more like driving. While the steering does feel a bit mushy, it's relatively easy to master compared to Wii remote quirks in other games.
Overall, I'd say that I'm glad I purchased this game. While it's hard to play with other people because I am so much more used to the steering in NFS Carbon, playing the game alone is a lot of fun.

Pretty good

This game is not bad at all. I was pretty horrified from the controling. A little too nutty for me. But after I adjusted it, the controling turned out to be pretty awsome. And the story-line to the game is sweet.

Amazing Game, great controls, fun game modes.

Carbon is a great game. Lots of different things to do and free roam is really fun. The controls are hard at first, but easy once you get them. And Graphics are a lot better than other NFS games. If you are thinking of getting most wanted, this has everything most wanted has and much more (including multiplayer). Overall here is what I think.

1-5
Graphics 4
Controls 5
Career Play 4.5
Car tuning 5
Overall 5

I bought this game for my husband. A bit difficult at first, but love it now.

Actually 4.5 stars. It takes a while for you to get use to the controls. But once you get used to the 'Wii motes', the game play is a lot of fun. The game modes are really good with the Canyon mode delivering a lot of racing fun. The graphics and sound are good just like any other NFS game. However, I would have liked a little day light option in the game. Overall, a great racing game for the Wii.
