wii wii varroooooooooom!

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 1 / 1

This game is killer, I love my wii cause it is so interetsing to learn to play another game using motion control capabilities on the console. Need for speed is a great game it could be better but it`s ok. Driving is even funnier than with a real steering wheel, the variety of races, cars, customization makes an interesting game. Graphics are good but could be better (they are in the range of the ps2.)
Police persuits are lot of fun too! This game is a wii essential in my opinion along with zelda twilight princess. Go get it you won`t be dissapointed!

Best Racing Game for Wii

Need For Speed: Carbon, for the Wii is amazing. EA took advantage of the Wiimote, and took Need For Speed to the next level. It takes a little while to get used to, but once you get used to the controls, it's a thrill ride from there. There's story mode, a challenge mode, which will keep you busy for awhile. The reason I gave 4 stars was of the lack of online, since Wi-Fi for Wii hasn't started yet. Don't listen to the negative reviewers, those people are n00bs, and don't know how to use a Wiimote

Its a fun game to play its really like you are driving the car, and buying parts for the cars too.

Nearly impossible to play on the wii

This is nearly impossible to play with the wii controller. Graphics are very dark (I have a 47" 1080i Visio HD tv). Maybe I need to try it some more but my initial impressions of this with the wii is unplayable.

Worst racing game ever!

This game is really dumb! It's not fun because the controls don't work, and it's almost impossible to steer. I turned this game in the day I bought it! The Wii rcing games are really bad and have poor controlls. At the place where I turned it in, this game(The one I turned in), and GT Pro Series (another Wii racing game), were the only 2 used Wii games there! That's how bad Wii racing games are. The only reason why I gave this game an overall 2 stars was because of the graphics

if you can't drive, change the controls...

I've really enjoyed this game...once I figured out how to drive the car the best. You definetly need to check the controls options. I tried steering with the wii remote but just kinda got frustrated. I've learned over time how to control it in that mode but if you really want to just get at it, change the controls. There are options to use the thumbstick on the nunchuck and use the main controller as gas via tilting the remote. Also, as others have mentioned, the speedbreaker is great for taking the tight turns and the muscle cars have the WORST handling of all the classes.

I consider the game to definetly be worth it.

Great game. loads of intense fun

This is a great game that involves some of the most intense racing i've ever done on a video game. Its amazing how much i got into some of these races. Not a good game for someone with a bad temper as you'll ocassionaly find yourself getting beat in the last 5 feet of the second leg of an end boss race. There is nothing more disappointing than have that happen to you several times in a row. However, the intensity of this game is great. I really got into it. At time i felt like it was almost impossible to control certain levels well, however with enough practice you'll get it. Just don't buy cars that are low in handling. Overall handling will win you many more races than high speed. I never once touched the nunchuck on this game and i beat it in probably less than 20 hours of play.. The steering is tough at times but its manageable, and probably a lot better than your average controller or joystick. Great game overall.

If It Wasn't For The Poor Controls...

2 Rating: 2, Useful: 0 / 1

I like most racing games, and I thought this game looked amazing, especially with the new motion controls, but boy, I was way off. This game is beautiful graphic-wise. It has many cars to choose from. The gameplay was solid and hasn't changed too much from the other games. Those were the few positives of NFS Carbon.
Now we get to the negatives. The controls are the worst part of this game, making it the reason it got two stars. If it wasn't for the poor controls, this game could be great. The controls seemed clear in the instruction manual, but were extremely confusing, difficult, and frusturating in the game. They only work about half the time. The car seemed to do the opposite of what I wanted it to do. It also seemed as if I had barely any control of the car. I also remember turning the Wii remote almost all the way around to do a simple turn. I can't even describe how frusturating it is to be in first place and almsot done with the race, but then crash or fall due to poor controls. I know that most people who say a game has poor controls don't take the time to figure them out carefully, but I did. I read the instructions (which is only a few pages) and examined my motions carefully. I've read that you can change the controls to using the thumbstick, but that's just boring. If you want to control a car with a control stick get, save some money and buy it for another system. And besides, what's the point of having motion controls that barely work. I also wish this game had an option to change the time of day at a race. All the races take place at night, which is pretty cool, but it can be a little hard to see sometimes. I also got tired of always racing at night.
Basiclly, NFS Carbon has poor controls that leave you frantically flailling the Wii remote all over the place. It seems like EA took time on the gameplay and graphics, but just carelessly threw in the controls. I highly reccomend buying this on another system like the PS2. This game is only for die-hard NFS fans. Thanks for reading.
