Racing Game Extravaganza

This is one of the best racing games I have ever played! You get to steer with the Wiimote which in itself is just too cool. I highly recommend this game.

Only racing game I really like!

This game is great! If you start playing the tutorial and think it's boring, that's probably normal. Once you actually get to playing, it's awesome! It's not overly long or anything, but it's something you can just pick up for awesome fun. Unlocking every single thing in the game could take 10 hours or more, but just beating all the tracks on normal difficulty, only takes about 5 hours. Steering with the Wiimote is great. Really makes it a lot easier. If you compare the both, you'll find that you'd rather play with the Wiimote than a regular controller any day! If you have a Wii and don't mind racing games that aren't overly realistic, then get this game! It's awesome!

Truck Crazy

Last year, Nintendo stunned many video game fans with the Nintendo Wii. The game system brought so many people to their needs. It definitely has changed the way that we all will now play video games at home. Although, this isn't completely out of the ordinary for racing games. There have been several games with a feel from a steering wheel we've played from attachments with games like Gran Turismo, but not when the original controller of the game system is turned into a wheel. That is exactly what Excite Truck has brought to the table for new gamers alike, and as one of the launch titles for the system. The question is, does it really deliver the need from speed?

Excite Truck for the Nintendo Wii, is a wild and outrageous racing game that really tests your abilities with the Wii controller. The game controls differently than other racing games, as you race wild trucks including the 4x4 Bandit, and many other trucks. As you race, you have to earn enough star points inorder to advance to the next level. As you race through the game, you also encounter pow blocks which make your car invisible to other trucks and trees too, and exclamation marks which alter the course in different ways from making shortcuts, to giant hills where you have to go through rings. The graphics aren't bad and look nice, while the soundtrack is a blend of mostly rock and roll feeling. The control however is the most difficult part of the game. It is very tricky for new Wii owners to learn to how to steer with the Wii Controller. You have to steer the trucks with the wii controller, by using it like a steering wheel, which is very frustraing at first, but gets a bit easier later on.

Despite a couple of flaws with the manuverability, Excite Truck is a wild and fun game for any Wii owner, or die hard racing fan. I like how much fun it is, and how wild the game is when you race. I definitely recommend this game a whole lot. It is different, but a lot of fun.

This game is intuitive, easy to learn and, most-importantly, FUN! This ain't rocket science, nor involved storytelling. Just get your truck from here to there a.s.a.p.(and make sure you do a few tricks along the way). I would never have bought this game on my own, but it came in the Costco bundle. We gave it a whirl, and haven't stopped since. Excellent game!

A fun and fast game for the Wii

This game is very fun to play.

It is extremely fast, and I found myself wishing that I had some different camera angles, so I could see farther ahead. The controllers work well, but it is still a challenge to control because - just like in real driving - you need to look ahead and anticipate, in order to get the best results. But that is just part of the fun as you crash, spin out, 'catch air,' and do other things to score bonus points.

It does work better as a one person game, since - as somebody else has already commented - when you play a one person game, you race against multiple computer opponents, and the crashes and jockying for position is part of the game, but as a two person game, the screen views are even more narrow than in the single game, and you only have your ONE opponent on the course with you. In the two player mode, it would have been better if they had integrated things better with computer opponents, and given different choices for screen set up and camera angles.

However, overall, I rate this game very highly for the challenge, game 'involvement,' excitement, good graphics, great usage of the Wii controller and ease of play. I highly recommend it.

My wife and I recently got a WII through sheer luck by winning a drawing for the opportunity to purchase the unit. Man we have been hooked ever since! In addition to WII sports, this game is the reason why!! The game has a very marginal learning curve and was very simple to pick up on right away. After a brief training session, the controls come second nature and you are immediately immersed into the gameplay. There is no story, no realistic vehicle dynamics, and next to no unneeded nonsense to detract from what this game has to offer: pure fun!! The controls feel very responsive, and the controller exhibits a TON of feedback through rumbles, audio responses, and dynamic gestures to spin your vehicle while its flying through the air. The game is not based on any realistic environment which allows you to fly your vehicle across huge chasms. The person who places first in each race is often by no means the winner of that race, only the racer who racks up the most stars which can be accomplished over a wide variety of stunts and jumps performed by your truck. This game would likely be fun for just about anyone because it is so easy to pick up right away. However, the game does present some challenges at the higher levels for those that advance, which keeps the game going at a great pace. I HIGHLY recommend this game. GET IT!!!!!

Excite Truck is a amazingly fun game. The stearing with the wi-remote is a tad hard to get used to but once you do it almost seems natural. The game gives points for crashes, slides, jumpes and much more and is fun for both hard core gamers as well as non-gamers. The graphics are good but not great, which is fine since the level of fun makes up for that and the game woul probably would be worse if the emphasis was placed on graphics. Only two people can play at a time and honestly the game isn't much fun with two people, its best as one player game. But if you like fun races like mario Kart or Off Road then you will love this. If you like realistic races like Need for Speed and such, then you won't like this game.

I bought this for my 10 and 4 yr old boys and they absolutely love it. They have played it non-stop for 2 days so far. The oldest gets the 'B' ratings that unlock new vehicles/colors/tracks, and the 4 yr old just plays. It is a little FAST but the youngest caught on to holding the remote and steering just fine. If you run over the '!' bubbles, the track changes (morphs) right in front of you. you get stars for different things you do (tree runs, drifting, crashing, etc).
all in all, excellent game for my kids.

Holy Crap, My truck is Flying through the air!!!!!

When I bought this game, I expected a fun racing game. Well, that is exactly what I got, and more. I had a friend over when I first started playing it and we had a blast. First the controls were a little difficult at first, but then you get used to them rather quickly. So there I am coming up to my first hill, and boom I fly through the air and land with another boost. Crash into another truck and smash, he's outa there. I couldn't believe my eyes. There are pleanty of tracks to open and trucks to unlock. This game is one of the best racing games I ever played. I recommend this game to anyone who ownes a Wii.

This game is ALOT of fun. If you're looking for a racing game that many age levels can enjoy, this is the one. Can use two players at a time. Get the 9.99 wii racing wheel to complete the game!
