I never was into fps, becides red faction the only fps I have gotten into was quake 2 for playstation, but I have always wanted to play half-life, I heard it was great. so far this is the best fps for ps2, and one of the best games for ps2. What I know, this game will change gaming as we know it, not just for fps, but all types of gaming. Imagine if Armored core had the geo-mod engine, or if resident evil had geo-mod, it would be great fun, and change the form of gaming forever. The game is not totally original, but I like it, and I hope that other games will incorporate the geo-mod engine to its full extent.

I've had my PS2 for about 4 months now and, honestly, have not been overly impressed with anything. (I don't know what I was expecting - but it hasn't kept me glued to my television and taking days off of work!) This game has finally caught my attention and held onto it. If you've read any other reviews by me, you'll note that I LOVED Half-Life - best PC game ever, in my opinion. While this is no Half-Life, it is a lot of fun if you like FPS's. The controls are easy to use, the environments are amazing and the sound is great. The action is a lot of fun and the ability to blow away walls is very cool.

What's it missing? It's missing the suspense and tension of HL. It's missing the unique enemies of HL (it's all variations on guards as opposed to different monsters, guards and aliens). But, it is still the most fun PS2 game out there. If you have a PS2, you must get this game...

This game is really good and worth your money if you like first person shooters. The game is cool just the multi-player got me hooked I haven't never played the 1 player mode, but I know its gotta be a delight. This is a highly recomended game. It is good I can say, but I have to stop my likes!! This game isn't that good for people to have to pay (the price) for it is just outrageous for this game.

Red Faction is a great game for the PS2. The graphics are allright. The controls take a little getting used to but when you do they become second nature. You can easily do anything from run circles around your enemys while blasting them to jump from a corner and splatter an unsuspecting foe. The AI of the enemys is good enough to keep you from running out into the open and taking everyone down(that is except on the easy mode MMMMM.... eeeaaasssyyyyy). The Geo-mode technology is a cool feature. In one part you can blast a hole in front of a vehicle crossing a bridge. If the hole is big enough the vehicle will get caught in it and fall down. The story is a simple revolt story which fits well. The thing that I liked most about Red Faction is that is was fun. It was the first game that after I beat it I actually wanted to play it again. Overall Red Faction is a great fun game.

I just bought this game today, and it's not too early for a review. this game has decent graphics, I must say though the people were kind of polygon-sloppy...The guns are cool and the story really is nice...like Oppression to revolution. You play parker a miner on mars who gets swept into the revolution with the group red faction. The game play is great if you like blasting people and walking around in first person mode...the capability of riding vehicles is a plus...people say these controls are sloppy but I played the TRAINING mode and now am ready to take on the game. very fast learning curve. And what if I get tired of the story mode, you might ask...well this game has a very nice multiplayer game...if you have no friends over just put 6 bots 30 minutes and how many kills you want...CHOAS=FUN and I found myself playing this for some time before venturing into the game...what is also cool about this game...It's down to 20 bucks!! what steal.

I played all of the 007 games and this is better than them all. You start out as a guy who witnesses one of his co-workers attacked in a mine and then you fight your way through the mine. Oh yeah the mine is on Mars. Your get alot of good guns like assault rifles and rocket launchers. There are no levels in the game and you can save whenever you want to. The controls are pretty hard to figure out in the beggining but it gets easier as you play. It's a good game to have in your collection so i think anyone who like action and adventure games should get this one.

Red Faction is easily one of the most enjoyable PS2 games around, mainly because it doesn't hold conventional limits. In RF, if there is no door, you can make one by blowing up the wall. Find a locked door? No problem, if you have the firepower, you can "unlock" it. This is definitely a plus, considering that a locked door is never fun to be stuck with in a shooter.

The setting for Red Faction is on Mars, hence the red scenery. You are joining a resistance army of renegade miners who want to rebel against the system. You quickly become part of the chaos, and the fun really begins. The enemies in RF are quite cumbersome, since they can duck behind walls, call for backup, and jump to avoid your firepower. The smart AI adds more challenge to RF. The weapons range from somple handguns, to rocket launchers, to plastic explosives. And they can be used for anything. Like I said, you clear your own path.

The graphics are first rate, one of the best for a first-person shooter. Despite the sometimes murky environments, the visuals are crystal clear. The voice acting is a bit hokey at times, but it is not a central point in the game, like it was with shooters like "Max Payne". The music is hardly memorable, but with the intense action, you are unlikely to notice.

RF is a stellar game for the PS2, and one which fans of "Perfect Dark" would love. What I loved most was the limitless areas of destruction. Virtually anything can be blown up. The story is not very deep, and it has definitely been done before, but it has never been this much fun.

A pretty good first person shooter, some of the later levels I liked alot. But this game is nothing compared to Goldeneye or Halo. What I really liked about this game though is that when you fire a rocket launcher or use a bomb, it actually blows a hole where ever you used it. Multiplayer is pretty fun, alot better than story mode.

Is a fun game that cool weapons with the missle launcher you can blow a whole in wall!
Now a word of warning!
It will work on all ps2 systems, but it may not work on the slim ps2! I have three and found it will not work on our slim ps2. But will work on the older systems!
graphics are super cool for a first person shooter!
Controls take a bit to get used to when changing weapons, but once you do they are pretty easy!
Sound is real good. The sound it makes when you blow things up is cool!
What I like is that it is a 1-2 player game! SO you can play with a friend!
Loading time is not to bad either! It is pretty quick! I do not like waiting to long for that! I was pleased with that!
Training mode is a big up to teach you the ins and out of the game! It will help you very much in game play!
I like the rocket launcher best!
You play as parker in one player mode! I do not want to spoil the game so I will say no more!
