Please, amazon, stop taking reviews from people who say things like "I'm giving this game 5 stars, it WILL ROCK!" when the game isn't even out yet! Jeez, people have nothing better to do. Acclaim in the past has made horrible games that made money, and saying a game is good before it's released isn't going to help them clean up their act. Wait, please.

Very slow and very boring

Legends of Wrestling is not worth it at all. The game is very slow, the graphics are sub par but considering that this game is on the PS2 and XBOX, the graphics are mediocre at best. Also the gaemplay and control is awful.

With fighting games like Tekken 4, MK Deadly Alliance and wrestling games like Smackdown SYM, this series really doesn't stand a chance because these games are faster, have better controls and the gameplay and replay value is great. I won't deny L of W has a lot of great names in it like George "The Animal" Steele, Hulk Hogan, "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka and more but still, the names in this game can't hold the game up.

If there was any indication that this was going to be a bad wrest;ong game, the fact that it's released by Akklaim and as most of you remember that Akklain also had the unfortunate mishaps of having their name attached to their last wrestling games WWF Attitude and ECW Hardcore Revolution. Honestly, Akklain lost the license to release games for a reason and there are 2 right there. Skip this one and if you're looking for a good wrestling game, check out the Smackdown series because you'll enjoy that much more.

I find these reviews hard to believe because when I played Legends of Wrestling, I wish I could have gone and gotten my rental fee back. This has horrible game play. Though it might be cool to be the great characters in the game, it was so boring as the set moves were weak. I advise people not to waste your time or money on this game.

THE WORST WRESTLING GAME EVER!!!!!

For a game to be called Legends of Wrestling this game should have been named something else. First of all any true wrestling fan would agree the how could you make a game called Legends of Wrestling without Flair, Piper, Savage, Sting, The Freebirds, Dusty Rhodes, Lex Luger, Arn Anderson, Shawn Michales ect. The gameplay is garbage. A six year old could go straight through the career mode undefeated. And some of the wrestlers on the game are not legends KoKo B. Ware started his career out in Memphis (the former Wrestling Capital Of The World) getting... beat until he sole himself out dyed his hair bought a bird and went to the WWF and continued to get...beat. Now he is probably a fat cashier at Walgreens or Exxon in Memphis. The arenas are garbage too. The only thing on the game that reminds you of the old days in wrestling is the blood. The graphics are also garbage. I don't understand how you can make a wrestling game and expect it to sell with games like SmackDown 3 on the market. I dont even think the creators of this game were actual wrestling fans. This game is a waste of money I would sell my copy but I would not want to put anybody through the same torment. So if you love Wrestling and appreciate it for what is is as good entertainment dont waste you time with this game.

failure, beyond comprehension.

theis game was sooo very dissappointing. if your a fan of the smackdown series....this game pales in comparison so much, that you will literally become ill at the fact that you purchased this game. the graphics are fine, but the game play is so horrific, i had to restrain myself from smacking my head against the wall. please, please, please ignore the exciting looking cover art, and walk past this game, it'll be the smartest thing you ever did. learn from my mistakes and save yourself (money). or walk over and get the smackdown for playstation2 ,and enjoy a wrestling game that is 1,000,000 times better than this dissmal failure!

So Acclaim revamps the engine and gets old school cred, but it still sucks. The 40 some odd wrestlers from the "golden" years are really some 20 some with another 20 to be unlocked through gameplay. the problem with this = game play is not good. the wrestlers are slow and methodical with only really four real moves per character. the "revolutionary" combo move system means you can pin the opponent after you suplex him, i for one am amazed. the camera doesn't always follow your man, and a health meter makes the game predictable and boring unlike "real" wrestling. tagging out is very difficult as well as climbing the turnbuckles for an aerial assualt. either stick with THQ or find an old arcade with Mat Mania still hangin around, but don't give acclaim any more money.

Beware of Acclaim...

They've produced nothing but poor quality in the past. I doubt very much this title will be any different. You can't go wrong with WWF Smackdown: Just Bring It!

Ok,I am a huge fan of modern and old-school wrestling and I always thought that I never ever could hate ANY wrestling game on ANY game station (I even liked WCW Nitro on PSOne),but since I experienced this [game],I changed my mind.
First of all,the graphics are beyond bad. Many people complain about the strange look of the wrestlers in Smackdown!3,but THESE look even more strange and additionally, they don't even move their face.
The controls are quite complex and every wrestler has the same moveset. They remind me of WCW Nitro. The moves are animated very well, but that doesn't matter if you can't use more than 12 moves in all.And the dirst review says that you could win a match fast.Well, that's Ok,but that's not what a wrestling game is supposed to give to you.A wrestling game should try to produce balanced matches. Two opponents shouldn't work against each other but WITH each other and I think WWF Smackdown3 does it very well and certainly better than THIS.
The Create a wrestler-mode is poor.Sorry, can't say it in any other way.You can only choose between the body partd that are already given by the "legends" included in the game.
And the most shocking fact is: there are only 12 different match types!Good god, even WCW/nWo World Tour on the good ol' N64 had more. Hands off this game!

This game is just wrong. The intro movie is horrible and disrespectful to wrestlers, fans, and gamers. The legends are all unrecognizable cartoon characters. It's missing legends and has legends with questionable credentials. I would have much rather had The Rockers than the Rock and Roll Mullet Xpress. Where's Strike Force? It's got like the whole damn Von Erik family for some reason. There's too many WCW guys. Rob Van Dam? Worst of all there's no authentic entrance music, I really wanted to hear "Real American". The create a legend feature is pretty stupid for obvious reasons. The most laughably stupid part is the random wanna-be Matrix camera angle, I laughed like hell when I first saw that! The crowd excitement meter is pretty accurate though, it was always in the red for me. What a tribute.

This game is the biggest ripoff on the market today. I got it last week and it sucks. Slow gameplay, medicore graphics, and every wrestler has the SAME MOVES(except for the finisher). It is basically your standard 1980's "player 1 and 2, mash the buttons as hard as you can and whoever presses hardest gets to do a move". For Playstation 2, that is inexcusable. Some of the "legend" choices are a bit ridiculous("Mr. USA" Tony Atlas???? Tito Santana???? Rick Martel????)This game was a total waste of $.... Buy Smackdown:Just Bring It, it's 100000x better.
