Fun for 5 year old not use to video games

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 0 / 0

Great game for my 5 year old who wanted a game she could play on the playstation 2 like her brother. Other games were too hard for her to master. The controls are not too difficult and it is fun. If your child is a master gamer they will finish it fast.

Great Game for Toddlers

We got this game for our 3 1/2 yr old and she loved playing it, and it didn't take her long to learn the controls and complete all the tasks. The only problem is, now that she has completed the game 3 or 4 times she is bored with it and wants to play other games. I give this game 5 stars because it is a great game for toddlers, learning to use the controls and preparing them for more difficult games. It is great that Dora can't die, makes the game more enjoyable for the toddlers. The only thing that gets my daughter is when Swiper swipes a gem, she listens to the guitar music that plays when Swiper shows up and just watches him steal a gem. I just tell her it is okay because she has plenty of gems to make the spaceship go. We had fun playing the game, and I'm sure she'll want to play it again after some time has gone by. Definitely worth buying.

this game has many levels, but if your child is older than about 4, they probably will be very bored. There isn't really much to do, and all the buttons do one thing, plus it is kind of slow moving. Very cute game, and my 4 year old loves it, but she beat the game within a couple weeks, and hasn't touched it since.

This game is great my 4 year old daughter loves it. The same day I ordered this game I ordered one from Disney also, I recived this game a week after I ordered it (which is a week before christmas) and as of January 1st I still have not recived the one from disney. I am very impressed with the quickness of the shipping.

My four year old received this game for Christmas. It is very repetitive and has little or no educational value. Probably the only good thing about it is he is learning how to use controller. I think the Leapster is the best bet for video games for kids. However I am thinking about getting him the Frogger Hop, Skip and Jump game and mat. Lets hope that's not a waste of money too!!!

Great children's game!

My 4 year old daughter loves this game! She can play all by herself and she got so excited the first time she won! Even though she has beat it repeatedly, she still loves coming back for more.

My husband and I like that she can play without "dying". She doesn't have to keep starting over. It is very kid friendly. I just wish there were more children's games like this one. We actually went back and bought the dora game for the ps1 for her because there are not many games like this for kids.

Once my son beat it, that was it!

My son is five and really enjoyed this game. He has not been playing the PS2 long and this was the first game that he actually beat, which made him very happy. However, now that he has seen other games, he is not so intrested in playing Dora anymore. The graphics just are not as good as other games, but it is excellent for younger players. There is no violence or loss of life. There is counting, colors and music. It also helped build his skills for other games, though I do not know if that is a good thing, because now he wants to play all the time!

purple planet is a smooth introduction to video games

I finally broke down and bought my family a video game system. I knew that my 4-year old daughter would want to play like her older brother.
Of all the kids' games that we bought, this one was by far the easiest. (I think this is the only PS2 game rated for early childhood.) The concepts are simple and it is not too tough to complete the tasks.
I suspect she will quickly outgrow this game, but I still think it was worth the money, just to give her a painless introduction to how video games work. It will increase her ability and confidence to play more challenging and exciting games.

It's a good interactive game...that will require assistance from a parent or older sibling. Is truly adapted from the show.

Great for Toddlers

My 4 year old son loves to watch people play PS2, but can't seem to control most of the games. We bought Dora and the purple planet and it was great! He has no problems controlling Dora or figuring out what to do. What's great is that Dora can't just fall off cliffs or anything. It goes from level to level so it keeps from being boring. A great buy for a toddler just getting into video games.
