Why, Square? Why?!!!?

I thought Bouncer might be the perfect game, in which I could sit back between the action and watch hours of beautiful Square full motion video. Sadly the --game-- part of the Bouncer is pretty darn boring. You fight bad guys in an old school Double Dragons sort of way, wave after wave of them, but it just isn't that much fun. No challenge, no great skill required, except that you must be prepared for pain from your thumb mashing the buttons for 2 hours.

The graphics are beautiful, no, beyond beautiful. These graphics are the reason I bought a PS2 in the first place. The story switches back and forth between rendered FMV and movies the PS2 generates itself, and at times I can't tell what kind I'm watching. It doesn't matter, the graphics are the best I've ever seen. However, the story they tell isn't all that interesting, and I always skipped a movie if I have seen it before. Ultimately, the weak story, poor gameplay, and the terrible pace from the combination of the two pretty much make the graphics uninteresting. Pretty, but not worth buying.

Don't buy this game...

It promised so much, they promised so much.. they forgot to tell us that they weren't going to deliver the goods.

+ Great Graphics + Good Sound

- Repetitive Gameplay - Shallow Storyline - Boring Characters

Simple summed up, I expected much better, the best game on the PS2.. but instead I get a boring, repetitive game that only lasts under 2hrs and I will probably never play again...

This game took approximately 3 hours for me to beat the first time I played, and I felt no desire to play again to release hidden things or learn more about the characters. The story is relatively boring,the characters uninteresting, and all in all the game is a dud. The play style is also pretty horrible. Essentially the game is a bunch of movies that tell you the plot, and all you do is fight in between the movies. The fighting system is easy and unimaginitive. This is a glorified fighting game that trys to be interesting by adding in the movies. It didn't work.

The Bouncer was good but it wasn't the best either.

I was intrigued by the storyline of the game and the whole BP system. What dissapointed me the most was that the game was too short. It was like a cutoff storyline sequence. However, I enjoy storylines since i'm a major RP gamer. I've played the FF series, Chrono Trigger and Crono Cross, Tales Of Destiny and Parasite Eve 1 and 2. I expected The Bouncer to be a different yet stimulating game. However, I was dissapointed by that aspect of the game. The Bouncer's a lot more like Sega Saturn's Street Fighter, which I also played and enjoyed. Overall, the voices are well done and the grapics are utterly stunning. I would strongly recommend this to a Street Fighter lover but, not to a serious RPG gamer.

Aiite, I juss bought a PS2 and this is the first game i bought... It really is a good "first site" to see as a new ps2 user... it is soo awesome... the graphics are amazing! It made me fall more inlove wit the system and it's just a sold and great game... this game is so under ranked... I recommend it to people who were once interested in the game "fighting force" because it's pretty similar but much better..

one day i was flipping throught the pages of a game magazine adn i came upon a game called the bouncer. it looked cool and i thought iam going to get that game. time came when it came out and i saw it at a rental store. i grabbed it and couldnt wait to play it to beat up some bad guys. boy did i pick the worst game to rent. i beat the game in 1hour 30minutes about and the thirty is for gameplay and the hour is for the in game movies. i have never played in a game in my life that has so many movies in it in so little time. iam giving this game a one because of the best part of the game that is the graphics.

I thought this was a very good game but it was just really short. It has tons of replay value and you need to play it a minimmum of six times to finish it! multiple characters and a huge multiplayer mode will keep most interested for a long time. the best graphics on ps2 they are better than final fantasy x. overall it is a very good game that is rich in action.

Alright I have to be honest the graphics were great. It only took me 3 hours to beat the whole game and the plot is not the best.You proberly should just rent the game instead of paying half-price or fullprice.

i said sorry to all the people who liked this game because i only gave it one star. the reason why i hate this game is that it is to short it took me twenty- minutes to beat serieously. but actually it has okay replay value.

The bouncer is a good game like final fantasy it has good graphics and a nice storyline. The thing that [bugs me is] they spent a year making it and it took me and hour to beat. Yes the game has some very boring parts. You'd think squaresoft the makers of FF10 the greatest game ever made could do better than this. Squaresoft oviously put little effort into this game. The game is based too much on sion the main charcter. I had high hopes for the bouncer perhaps too high.THe game has the romeo and juliet feel. Two people in love seperate fight and then reunite. You'd do better not to buy this game
