First of all, Im a goldeneye fan, and I thought nobody can do it like James Bond, but even playing it for only 3 hours, Solid Snake can really hold it down. There is alot of pure action and drama, and in parts, its like you are playing in the movie. The sound effects and graphics are excellent, and I like the red laser on the guns and the radar. Solid Snake has more gadgets and better moves than Bond. When you think about it, the overhead cam does help you see around corners The controls feel awkward at first, but you learn quickly. Overall, This game is the Goldeneye of the PS and get it now!!

This game is really good and it will keep you at the edge of your seat waiting to see what is next. If you like good story lines, action, blood and really good movie cut scene buy this game.

I got this game to get some shooting action for the playstation. i got all the action i wanted. This game is not just mindless carnage, it has an excellent storyline which i wont give away, and has a lot of stealth. you must avoid soldiers, automatic gun cameras, security cameras, trap doors, even wolves in one spot. The game s really long. the first cd has a dumpster full of missions but in the second cd it ends just like that. I will recomend this to non hardcore gamers because the easy level is real easy. hard level will challenge veterans. so it is for gamers of all levels. most of the time you have a 3-d angle overhead view in the high graphic landscape. to look in front of you you press a button but that's only for looking. you can puch, kick, snap necks etc. i dont know why the game is M rated, the people look small so it is not so violent. there is no drug use, and the nudity is in one place slight as it would be in a pg movie and in one place it is censored out anyway. The graphics are better in-game rather than in cutscenes in most places. there is an innovative codec system for talking to mission helpers. great story with many twists, blood curdling sounds, overall i think you will be a fan from the first mission.

There is not a single game better then Metal Gear solid. I personally got this game from a friend. It was so fun, i played it for hours, days, weeks, months, going on a year. No game for the playstation or much less any other system can beat this! When metal Gear2: Sons of liberty comes out im getting a copy because this game was so good!

Not only is it the best game ever, but the best on the Playstation. I was blown away in 1998 when it was released, by the oringinality and espionage - stealth tactics of the game. No other game was like it. The stealth aspect gave such a releastic feel to the game. Instead of going in shootin up the place, you took out enemys by surprise or snuck by them entirely, and used your guns only when necessary. Which there were several times when you needed to, like the boss fights. So Metal Gear Solid pretty much kicked the stealth genre into high gear. As for the graphics and sound, they were great and still are to this day. Detailed backgrounds and characters gave the game a very movie like feel, although the characters faces were kind of smeared looking and there was some break up on the characters bodies. The sound is the best ever heard on the playstation, with the best dialogue and voice acting ever to be heard in a game. Weapons gave off releastic sound effects, as well as explosions. The music was right on par also. Great beats rose up in the heat of battle and softer, more slower beats when sneaking around. And what can I say about story. It ranks up there with FFIIV and FFIIV's story and is probably the best in a game. Awesome characters, twists, surprises, mystery, emotion, real life sitiuations, betrayal, revenge, a few sad scenes, and a very heroic theme. When you found out that Snake was being used through the whole game just too put in the detenation codes, that master was really liquid snake, and Snake was enjected with the FoxDie virus to infect the terrorists, words could not describe how shocked I was. It was one of the biggest video game shockers in history. So with all this plot, characters, voice acting, and other elements, it feels more like playing a big hollywood movie, instead of watching one. Also, there were a few things left unanswered in the game. For example at the end when Ocelot is talking to the President,( who is the third son of Big Boss and Snake's other cloned brother ) he said that FoxDie would become activated soon in the vector, Snake. So why isn't Snake dead ? Is the Snake in Metal Gear Solid 2 a cloned Snake ? Also, I read that Besides Ocelot in MGS2, theres another leader, who the terrorists call Snake. Is it the real Snake ? Is Snake a traitor ? Theres no way it would be Liquid Snake, he was killed at least four times through out the first game. Those are just a couple questions hoped to be anwsered in MGS2. I can't wait. So in the mean time, you should refresh your memory with MGS to prepare yourself for MGS2. You never know, it could replace MGS as the best game ever made.

This one of the best games on playstation.Instead of using brute force you use stealth to overcome your enemies.There are some weapons(FAMAS,Socom,PSG-1,Stinger Missile,Nikita,C4 ect} you start with no weapons but you get them later on.Can't wait for the sequel.

The best game on Playstation. Period.

How can I describe this game?Amazing...Stunning...Cool....
This game is hands down the best ever on Playstation.
Why? Hmm...let's see...Extremely Compelling Plot, Excellent Graphics,blow-your-mind voice acting....
Did I mention this game is a tremendous feat; bigger and better than any (and I mean ANY) game on Playstation, and perhaps any other system, for that matter?
Thought so....

This is my best game. If you looked at my Resident Evil 3 review youll see why this is the best. But this game has everything i ever imaganed. Good Graphics, Cool weapons, a man with courage, and some lovely ladies... lol just kidding. But your snake a official that worked for fox hound and you have been chased by roy camball so he can brief you on your mission that you well refuse to do. So he tells you to rescue some people and than start your mission. You will run into alot of people and lots of calls on your codec. One of your friends though is your deadly brother.... I wont give his name away. But this game has over 10 weapons and over 29 different items. You get to spy on people and surprise them by killing them. Youll want to play this game agian and agian. Its the best game for the playstation game console.

This game is what all games should be compared to. I own a Playstation 2 and 15 games, but this game (a playstation 1 game, even) gets the most attention from me. This is, by far my favorite game on any system. Thousands of games have been reviewed on ... and it is known as one of the hardest places to get a good rating if you are a game manufatcurer. ....

MGS is a stealth game of no equal. You are Solid Snake, a retired Navy Seal of great fame. Your colonel gives you one last mission because he knows only you are good enough to do it. You are thrown into a mission that involves a nuclear terrorist threat. The game allows you to shoot up all the people that you want, however, when you shoot a guard, an alarm is sounded that alerts his commrades and it is no longer a one-on-one battle. For this reason, stealth is extremely important. Sneaking up on a guard and snapping their neck alerts no one and allows you to continue in silence. Going on a shooting rampage is in most ways very bad. Another good way to sneak is making noise. You can knock on a wall to coax a guard to come see what the noise was, right as you pass him around a box. This game's plot is EXTREMELY well written and it not nearly as shallow as all other shoot'em up games. One of the games strong points (there are no bad points I know of) is the cinematic sequences which spells out the plot to full advantage. Never before has a game been so detailed and complex. The complexity never ends. There is always something new and nothing to get bored with. There are infrared sensors you have to crawl under, wolves you have to kill before they kill you, tanks to stop, and many bosses to face. BUY THIS GAME NOW!

If you are reading this review, you are a little etchy on whether or not to buy this game. But let me tell you, if you buy this game, you will find out that it was the best 20 bucks you have ever spent. This game is in fact 20 bucks because it is a greatest hit game for the playstation, which means it sold over a million copies and the price was reduced. Hey, like I always say, a million people can't be wrong.

Warning to parents d not let anyone under 12 paly alone, watch younger people. well the game is just plain good. The graphics are great considering the fact it was not made recently. You go around in first person view most of the time, but you can change te view to first person, so you can look around.The third person view is fun for some moments like when you crawel around in a box. The game is very well how do you put this "Mature, there is swearing, and some cencerd nudity. As for blood and gore, when you anyone elese gets shot a cloud of dust comes, it goes away faster than it appears.It is good game that challenges your mind, and should be played by former gamers who are fammilier with playstation controllers, so you can be a good player. Basicly what i am saying is to buy this game, buy, Buy, BUY!!!!!!
