I think this is the best Tomb Raider game ever! It is 100%redesigned new game. The screenshots are amazing. Same about the trailer. Redesigned 3D Lara Model is more sexy then ever. I am gonna purchase this game as soon as it gets to Bulgaria. The only minus is the new character (the boy), he is going to "make" a new game. I hope to find any logic in this version of Tomb Raider then in others. Also I hope to get more true 3D Graphics and Animations, a truelike story and an interesting levels.

WELL, LIKE EVERYONE ELSE I WAS ALSO EAGERLY WAITING FOR THE GAME TO BE RELEASED. AND WHEN IT GOT RELEASED I WAS SO HAPPY AND NOW AFTER PLAYING IT FOR 20 HRS I AM REALLY DISSAPOINTED.
YES, THE CONTROLS SUCK BUT THE LAG REDUCES AND IN SOME CASES GOES AWAY IF YOU USE THE "FF" SETTING INSTEAD OF "NORMAL". THERE ARE A TON OF GLITCHES TOO. THINGS WILL APPEAR SUDDENLY OUT OF THIN AIR AND CATCH YOU OFF GUARD, IT WON'T EVEN GIVE YOU ENOUGH TIME TO JUMPOVER IT AND EVEN IF YOU TIME IT PROPERLY THE CONTROLS WILL TAKE SOME TIME TO RESPOND SO EVENTUALLY YOU END UP LOADING A SAVED GAME. BY THE WAY ALWAYS USE A DIFFERENT SLOT WHILE SAVING OTHERWISE YOU MIGHT HAVE TO PRETTYMUCH START THE LEVEL OR WORSE, THE GAME ALL OVER AGAIN.
I BOUGHT THE GUIDE YESTERDAY. WELL JUST FOR THE POSTER. BUT LATER I FOUND OUT THAT I HAD MISSED SOME MAJOR CHARACTERS IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE GAME. SO I GUESS IT ISN'T ALL THAT LINEAR. I AM STILL ON THE RIGHT TRACK BUT I THINK I TOOK AN ALTERNATE PATH. SO I NOW I NEED TO GO BACK AND MEET ALL THE CHARACTERS THAT I MISSED. BASICALLY YOU NEED TO SEE THESE CHARACTERS TO GET HELP FROM THEM. GUESS I DIDN'T NEED THEIR HELP AFTERALL.
A PATCH HAS BEEN RELEASED BUT IT DOESNT FIX ANY OF THE MAJOR ISSUES.
I HAVE GIVEN IT A 3 SINCE I AM A SUCKER FOR GRAPHICS AND THIS GAME LOOKS SWEET. AND THE SOUND IS ALSO FANTASTIC.
ALL EIDOS HAS TO DO IS FIX THE CONTROLS AND EVERYTHING WOULD BE FINE.
Not what I was expecting!

OK, just got the game last week, and I was soooo excited, but started to play, and was a little disappointed when I found her so hard to control. And what is with the slow motion? Every once in a while it looks like instant replay during your game play, either this, or Laura is severely tired and has to slow down. What's the deal? Also, the camera angles are a little difficult to get used to, I am still adjusting. The graphics are great, but I think a little more work should have been done on the controls; she is just too difficult to move sometimes. Jumping is not the same anymore, and why must she walk before she starts to run? Before it was straight out running, and now, she has to take about 3 or 4 steps before she starts running. I am still hanging in there; I believe it must get better. I am still playing, so I guess I will just have to adjust to the "new and supposedly improved" Laura.

The graphics on this game are really really good.
A big downer is the controls, it used to be really easy but now you`ve got no choice but to use the anolog buttons and i hate them!
The locations are very detailed and the interaction of friends and enemies is very impressive.
But, i`m not sure that it was a good idea to bring in another character.
overall, a very good game worth the money, v.good graphics and locations. The only set backs to this game are the controls, and the extra character.
So far, it's not worth $...

My Tomb Raider game is filled with bugs! Within 10 minutes of downloading it, I had to restart my computer 3 times! When the game does show up, I get a blank screen. I can hear the sounds and all but there are no pictures! Whatever I do I cannot get it to work. I've tried so many websites for help! I've waited a year for this and now I wish I didn't get it. Maybe it's just my game? But other people have been having the same problems too. Well, at least the box is cool. |=(

Hmmmm, as a veteran of Tomb raider and an someone who plays most of the 1st person shooters that appear I was quite disappointed in the game controls. The story is great, the graphics are much better then previous Tomb Raider releases but the controls ruined the game for me. One would think with all the 1st person shooters with very precise and smooth controls Tomb Raider would have them too, not so. It is very frustrating to try and play a very well done story only to continually die for lack of the ability to accurately control Lara's movement. I hope Edios learns from this experience.
We love Lara, no matter what?

This game is essentially made just like the first game of a series to come would be(refering to the new GeForce technology). It needs refinements. Although the advantage for the makers is that Lara doesn't need to be sold. She's already loved worldwide. But yes, there are some weak points to it.
Nevertheless, it is still a very good game to play and own as you will be enchanted about the new and very "hot" Lara and by her new abilities. The storyline is good (not great, but good).
There is also a good dose of eeriness to it, which is what we want to some degree (some of us like to feel uneasy and alone when we play games, don't we?)
Flaw no.1: The second character (Kurtis Trent) which you get to play in a few levels is totally dissapointing in that; when he is featured in the "FMV's" of the game, he is portrayed as being very quick and witty, even more so than Lara. But when you get to actually play the character you find yourself being slower than a sloth and dummer than a cow (refering here to the battle with "Boaz" in which he has the "Shuriken Blade", but the makers won't allow you to use it until he's dying).
Flaw no.2: We could do without the much too many and "lame" conversations that take place between Lara and other people she meets throughout the game. I also like to think that Lara would be more refined and witty in her talks (just like Angelina Jolie is in the Tomb Raider movies).
Last flaw but not least: Buying a GeForce Graphic Card might not prove sufficient for a lot of would-be players. You might also have to buy more memory, some might even have to get a new processor altogether and so forth. But isn't that the price to pay for our incessant demands on getting more effects, more challenges and more sensations.

Yes, there are parts that are a bit tricky. If you don't like a challenge don't bother with it but it is very involving and well laid out. Great story line with wonderfully interactive characters all providing enough clues and goodies to keep the game moving. If you like intelligent, challenging games then this one will be for you, otherwise just stick with the kiddie stuff.

I just want to start out by saying I like the game, I have fun playing it. Yes it has some glitches and Laura can be hard to get used to controlling, but over all I think the game was worth the money. I did read a review that stated the game freezes a lot, I haven't had a problem, I got stuck in a wall once but that was it.
Not really that bad

I just bought this game and played it for a few hours. In my opinion, it turned out that it is not as bad as most people were complaining. On the bad sides, the sensitivity of the controls are indeed a little different. But they weren't really as bad as I thought. One obvious difference was that you would have to hold the Shift key for 1 sec or longer before pressing the arrow keys in order to do the side steps. Otherwise you would experience the "spinning" that many people were complaining. The other thing is when the game is being loaded, there is no busy icon or anything that tells you the progress of such. On the positive sides, the graphics, lighting effects, and sounds are clearly better. And Lara has a more real life look than the previous versions. I experienced no problem narragating it's first mission. With a little practice, this game would be as much fun as it's previous versions.
