A Bit Dissapointing But Still Fun

This game was kind of dissapointing because of the fact that you aren't really playing a normal game of Duel Monsters, but instead you're playing a sort of board game that has Duel Monsters and still can be fun. The little walkthrough that explains you how it takes like 30 minutes or something, and it's rules are a little complicated. You also can chose to be on the team of Yugi or Kaiba's team. But the graphics are postively eye-popping. The Dark Magician, Swordstalker, the Black Skull Dragon and other monsters look amazing when they start to battle. In conclusion this game is a pretty good game for someone who really enjoys board games and Duel Monsters, but if someone was hoping for a pure Duel Monsters game, this isn't that good of a game.

Don't Buy This!!

If you haven't already burned your eyes by playing this horrible Yu-Gi-Oh game don't buy it!! The graphics are bad, the gameplay is bad, and to top it all off, the game is really hard! Use your money to buy something better!

Dont waste your money on this.... first of all there is like an hour of nothing but dialouge in the begining. and when your trying to pick a card there is all this "ART"...all over the place to make things extra confusing. the gameplay(when you finaly get to actually do something with the ever-lasting dialouge) is Terrible. oh yea the name of the game is Yugi-oh right? you cant even be yugi you have to make your own name to play. heed my words dont waste your [money] on this garbage.

This game is AWESOME!The cards are,the characters are tough, and, sadly enough, this game cheats you.
It plays like Dungeon Dice Monsters. And,you have those point things that limit your deck on good cards. Then again,I rented it and the store didn't give me an instruction booklet so the game was worse than it really was.Anywaymyou get a bad deck and your opponents get good ones. But anyway, just buy this game at amazon because it's my favorite place to shop due to their LOW prices.

It's an alright game

I actually liked this game, expecially since you were able to see your monsters battle each other though you can also see that in Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories for playstation though in Duelest of the roses the graphics are much better. If your a big Yu Gi Oh fan then you'll probally like this game. Though i found it a little hard at first cause the deck you start with is really weak and your opponents decks are a lot stronger then yours. But here is one thing of advice, once you beat a duelest go back and duel him again to obtain more powerful cards and boost your deck. Duel everyone at least more than once so you can get some good cards. Though it takes some time it's worth it. Plus doing this has got me almost to the end of the game and this is my secound time playing it. Since i dont own it yet i have just been renting it. Well hopefully this helped.

I actually thought this game was pretty cool. Expecially since your able to see your monsters battle each other, though you can also see that in Yu-Gi-Oh Forbidden Memories on Playstation. The game is somewhat hard at first since you have to protect your deck master while also trying to defeat your oppoinents, but once you beat one i sugest you go back and fight him again to get some of his cards and boost your deck, because the deck you start with is pretty weak. I chose to be on Yugi's side which makes you have to face some really hard duelests like pegasus for instants. So even though it takes some time just go back and duel everyone again to gain more powerful cards, since thats what i did and its got me pretty far in the game, almost to the end. So basically thats my advice though its not much but hopefully it helps.

First of all, this is odd in the Yu-Gi-Oh! style, because it is set in VII century England in the reign of Henry VIII. Yep. Yami isn't a pharoah, he's Henry VIII! But the gameplay is reasonably fun, you don't use a deck - you use monsters in a kind of 3D board game. It requires strategy and intense thinking to overwhelm your opponents with your incredible monster army. Don't kid yourself, all the old faves are here - Dark Magician, Blue Eyes White Dragon etc - plus you get three incredible promo cards - the three magnet warriors that Yugi has in his deck in the Battle City cartoon! I reckon you should really play this because I think its amazing and addictive.

not really what i had in mind...

I bought this game when I first started getting into YGO. BIG MISTAKE!!!! First of all, the DOTR is really a bad game, it's really annoying and super frustrating for a novice like I was, before I learned how to play the real TCG. The only things I had learned about the TCG (at the time when I bought this game) was through the American Dub show, and that has its flaws. And knowing that stuff gave me a very light sense of how to play.
=Deck Leader Concept= Not the best idea ever, becuase you can have an adequate deck leader, but if your opponent can get to it fast with a totally random kick-[...] monster before you can put up a decent defense, you lose and it's over...and you have to start the duel all over again...
=Overall Scenario= The entire thing is all set in England or France or wherever, but the scenario is really lame and stupid. In the AD show, the entire scenario is almost just as dumb, but you don't have to sit through an entire hour-long segment of pressing X and hoping it ends soon. I think that setting the game in Egypt would be better suited (which has already been done...in Forbidden Memories...I think...I really don't know, I'm just guessing) but Konami, or whoever decided to put Yugi and Kaiba and everyone alse in England and make them threaten you with a duel or its off with your head, was really whacked. If you choose Kaiba's side, your first duel is with Tea, and she's all ticked off cuz you joined the "Dark Side", so she threatens to avenge "Prince Yugi" for your evil act of virtual betrayal. Also, the way Yugi and Kaiba introduce themselves is so lame..."My name is Henry-something but you can just call me Yugi"--how RANDOMLY INSANE is that?!?!?!
The graphics aren't that great, and the "battle footage" is most annoying (I skipped it every time). I really don't play this anymore, just becuase it's no fun.
So, this game isnt really worth buying, so do yourself a favor and dont buy it...unless you're a master at normal duel monsters and you like to challenge yourself...unlike me.
If you want a substitute, buy Power of Chaos: Yugi the Destiny, Joey the Passion, or Kaiba the Revenge...these are a lot of fun and so much better to help you learn how to play the normal TCG if you're just starting out...
Hope this was helpful...
