This game is so BORING! The interface just plain sucks. I've only played one other MMORPG, and that's World of Warcraft. It's $15/month to play, and a friend told me to try Guild Wars since it's free. Well, I can honestly say, you get what you pay for. There are very few pluses: Well, obviously, it's free, the graphics are nice, and you don't spend a lot of time travelling. It lacks content and personality though. The characters are completely flat, and it's just not entertaining at all. I guess I've been spoiled by WoW and must be biased towards traditional MMORPG's.

I think that this game is great. It is a lot of fun. Sometimes and can get pretty competitive though, so thats why its not quite at 5 stars.
Game for team players only

Guildwars is a game designed with a very restrictive vision. The game is made for one thing and one thing only. Team play. If you do not want to play as a team this game is not for you. The quest become progressively harder and harder to play as one. More and more monsters are throw at you every new quest with no chance to pick them off one by one. If you attack one three others will appear from nowhere. Newer and more powerful weapons are very rare if not nonexistent. Does not matter any way because you most likely would have no money to buy them as every item is very expensive and you are given very little money. When you play with NPC team mates you have to split money between them, this is the only game I have played that has done this. Another gimmick to keep you from getting powerful enough to do missions by yourself. This game is not for me as I do not like team play. I made a mistake, don't you make it too.
Caution When Purchasing Used Copies

If the copy that you are purchasing was registed previously on the game site you MUST get the login info from the person whom you are purchasing it from. The product key can only be used ONCE, PERIOD w/out forking over an additional $49--doubt that the game is that good.

Subject Access/Product Key

Greetings Jon,
... Unfortunately we cannot assist you with this matter because you purchased a used copy of Guild Wars and are not the original registrant of the access key. The original owner retains all rights to the access key and account created with that key, and access keys and accounts are not meant to be traded, sold, or shared as it is against the Users Agreement. Additionally, the Guild Wars game package is printed with "Not for resale by prior owner" and "Not valid for purchase if opened."
In order to "own an account" you will be required to purchase a retail copy through one of our authorized stores. For a list of options to purchase online and at your local retailer, please see the following link: https://store.plaync.com/home.php. You could also purchase a Guild Wars access key alone by using the PURCHASE CODE link in the "Online Purchased Serial Codes" section of your PlayNC account management page.
Had to put a rating in. I could not give a one since so many like it. I also could not give a five since I have not been able to play it w/out dropping $49 on top of the $29 that I had already spent. Oh, the return address was rendered illegible by post office tape.
Good luck on your purchase
JB

This game is pretty good compared to the others out there. The only donwfall is not being with other people outside of town unless you are in a group and the backpacks are way too small. Overall it is a pretty good and fun game though.

I recently ordered Guild Wars 1. because at the order time Amazon had the best price and 2. it said it was in stock. There was 'some' delay and three weeks later I got the product in the mean time the local stores had the game in stock for the same price sans shipping charges. The game is ok not a great game but what I expected. If you want an item with a three to four day ship time showing it should not take three weeks to ship without an explaination or apology. So far this is an exception to my ordering with Amazon but I offer this review as a sample of declining customer service.

My video can't handle most modes, so it lags unless I put the camera directly over my character's head... a let down, but I know the game would be cool if I could PLAY IT. Le sigh. Only outer problems, though.

Its a neat concept but the execution is boring. You only meet people in towns, the rest of the time youre on your own (or with a partner or two). You have to stroll through towns which are enhanced chat rooms where noobs cry for help and embark on boring missions. Get World of Warcraft instead. Its worth the money cuz its actually fun to play and where you can actually interact with more people.
