not as big as what i have expected

I am sorry to say this but act 5 is not big enough for me, but very interesting indeed.
I don't like those two new characters but I am glad that I am able to explore more about my babarian life.
However, it is very strange that I can't have act 5 fully installed on to my hard disc, so it is not only a mouse-killing game, but also a CD-ROM killing game now.

The Best RPG game ever

This game is a must have. The 800x600 enhances it a lot, and the two new chars (Druid and Assasin) make it even better. The areas have been updated, as well as the weapons. Any old owners of D2 will ove this game and keep coming back for more. This is a game that people of all skill levels can enjoy.
P.S.- the sorceress is the best character in the game.

Cool

The best feature this expansion pack adds is the increased resolution to 800 x 600. The next best feature is an increased inventory. In addition, there is a more cooler variety of inventory items to find and use. If you liked Diablo II and wanted more, this should suffice unless you also get Dungeon Siege which is what Diablo II should have been.

Assassins

This is an awesome sequel. Play the assassin and that heartless woman will not let you down. 5 acts. Lots of quests to complete, new monsters, and the effects are great. There is an assortment of new spells and skills for each character to learn. FYI, if you love the assassin as much as I did, make sure to train her heavily in the Tiger Claw.

Some features should have been in the original

Needless to say, Blizzard has followed up their flagship game with this expansion. Now that its gone gold, I can't wait for Amazon to ship out my full copy! While I like the new characters, runes, and highlands, some features really should have been included in the original like increased stash size and siege towers etc.

I don't need to say how good the expansion is. The 2 million plus pre-orders speak for themselves. A note for the users that think that Blizzard is conspiring to force buyers to buy the expansion. They have gone on record saying that some big errors were made in the 1.08 path. The main one being that the monster levels for expansion crept into classic D2 and hence the monsters seem invincible. They will be releasing another patch in a few weeks to fix that. In fact a newer version of the 1.08 patch on their site fixes some of their errors.

While many other games have come and gone from my hard drive, Diablo 2 Expansion stays. Why? This game doesn't have the best story, the best graphics, or the best gameplay. It doesn't have a flexible save or party-based system, and frankly it's very difficult on the heavier settings. So why??? Because the online Diablo community (through Battle.net) is probably the best online game community there is? Because the item and party combinations are infinite? Because of the huge cast of spells, skills, characters available, and monsters? Maybe... but actually I think the secret is in the fact that Diablo 2 is not the best at any single thing it does -- it's simply really good at everything. It's the perfect balance of being intriguing without requiring too much commitment. I can sit down and play for four hours or four minutes and I'm satisfied every time. Eventually, the answer becomes elusive -- but the one fact is that I've owned this game for years and I still play it at least once a week. If that doesn't mean this game is one of the greatest ever made, I don't know what does.

Act V: The Lord of Destruction

"Lord of Destruction," Blizzard's official and much-touted expansion to "Diablo II" is certainly a mixed bag. While it provides many new features and an entire new Act in which you, the hero of the land, take on the Prime Evil Baal, to get the most out of your money you had better be willing to play through the game a second time (or more). Purchasing "Lord of Destruction" merely to give the new Act a run-through is worth considering, since the new adventure is quite enjoyable, but your experience will be so brief you will almost surely wonder whether or not you actually got your money's worth.

Aside from the story-finishing new quest, you will get two new playable character classes. The Assassin is a powerful character (good for newbies) with a knack for katars and deadly traps, and the Druid is a hulking man of nature who can transform at will into werebears and other ferocious creatures. Both of these classes are excellent additions, and easily surpass some of the original game's selections. Each new character comes complete with brand new character specific items that can be found in both the original game and its fifth Act. Likewise, character classes from the original game can find items tailor made for them in their quest to rid the world of Baal. Also noteworthy is the new resolution, which greatly enhances the look of the game - but should have been available in the original "Diablo II" release.

As far as the fifth and final Act of "Diablo II" is concerned, it's easily the best one yet created for the game. The levels, both exterior and interior, are much more realistically designed, and are packed with details that add to the ambience. The new snowscape, homeland of the Barbarian, is the setting for "Lord of Destruction," and it's different enough from the previous realms to keep things fresh. The new enemies are likewise inspiring - though you'll lament the inclusion of the game's teleporting Imps, which spell lots and lots of frustrating busy work for melee fighters. Unfortunately, despite the new Act's many virtues, it's too bloody short. In fact, this Act feels considerably shorter than the first three, and only slightly longer than the fourth. It's a shame, since the six quests you do undertake will be some of the best you've yet experienced in the game.

In the end, if you have aspirations of going through the game's five acts from start to finish with a brand new character, "Lord of Destruction" is for you. It feels like you're paying a little too much if you tackle it any other way. Even so, the snowy adventures that await your avatar here are some of the best and most visceral you have yet experienced. Truly a mixed bag.

till they put out the new patch. now there isn't enough good weapons and the difficulty level in nightmare and hell are just way too hard to play.

Makes the game more in-depth!

When you have defeated Diablo 2, do you ever wonder "That's all?"?

Well have no fear, Lord Of Destruction is here!

I have to admit, I play on Blizzard.net and as I go further into the game I notice how it becomes quite repetitive and boring(listen to a townfolk babble to you, kill big bad monster. Next quest- listen to townsfolk babble, kill big bad monster. You get the gist of it.). So I bought LoD hoping for something a little better... and better is what I got. Even though most of it is pretty much the same, Blizzard did add two new characters, another piece to the storyline, new items and weapons, and charms to help add status points.

I guess you could say it adds more "suspense" to Diablo 2 but frankly, I think they could of made the expansion a little more detailed and interesting. Being that the only thing you really do in Diablo 2 is fight, fight, fight, I thought they would at least make some sort of new interaction or something. But it's still good, and definately does make Diablo 2 a little more enjoyable. So I do suggest you buy this and try it out if you loved Diablo 2 an crave more of it!

This is an exciting 3rd person real time action rpg. When u first star this game u get to choose a name for ur character and then choose the character: Amazon, Assasian, Barbarian, Sorceress,Druid, Necromancer, and Padiln. You then go on quests and get differant weapons and armor and rings and amulets and boots and belts and charms and well i think thats enough. You can really feal that ur fighting evil in this game cuase well.. the guys u kill look evil. There are all these kool spells for sorceress and its a dungeon kill fest. If u like killing things and getting exp. for it ur in luck. The battle net is really fun cause u can play the normal campiagn with ur friends or kill cows( helbovines) which is really entertaing. The sound it good could b better though but who cares. as long as its a good game it doesnt matter wat it looks or sounds like. But the grafics are really good. Overall i give this game a 9.... because its so fun and addicting. GET THIS GAME if u dont then :รพ
