Diablo 2, Lord of action RPGs

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 0 / 1

I have played many other RPGs like Shining Soul and Golden Sun, but none of them have this level of fun and replayability. You might be thinking that this game is just a gimmick, but it is a vastly compelling and very fun action RPG.

Probably the best part about this game is the amount of different character classes you can play as. They are the assassin, amazon, barbarian, paladin, druid, necromancer, and sorceress. All have the same amount of strengths and weaknesses. For example, the sorceress is very weak when you start out with her, but at a high level and with the frozen orb move she shreads everything on the screen in moments. Also, the barbarian, while unequaled in melee combat, has a major disadvantage against ranged enemies like archers.

What I believe to be the only bad part about this game is that there should be a little more to do on battlenet besides creating the secret cow level and trading items and being forced to do "Baal runs" for some decent experience at higher levels. But, overall this game has a little something for everyone and should definatly appear on a PC gamer's favorites shelf of games.

I think that this is better than the old one. but the only reason i like this one is because the old one was great. i think that there should be more to it than just killing and that but its still really fun. i think that blizzard should have made more new things. like more relms or worlds. but its not worth buying it if u like d2

More of the Same

Lord of Destruction (LOD), Diablo II's (D2) expansion, is merely more of the same, with a few little improvements here and there.

Sure, the two new classes (Druid and Assassin) are fun to play, and they play much differently than the existing classes, but after awhile, it's the same old "go kill the monster and get the experience."

Yes, being able to switch weapons is nice, and the new mercenaries are helpful. But they're only so interesting, and the merc's have an irritating tendency to not know how to run away.

Kickin' Butt - D2 Style!

A rocking expansion pack...much better than Hellfire was for the original Diablo game. The game does occasionally kick out some uniques and rares, but this stuff is a lot harder to come by than in the original D2. I like the addition of the runes (which can be combined to make extra strong weapons and armor) and the fact there are more gems. I plugged a Thul rune into one of my unique bows, and the thing is hot! Act 5 is a lot of fun, as well as being challenging and visually attractive. The fact that the mercenaries you hire can be outfitted with armor, weapons, and headgear, and also level with you is a big improvement. Remember how useless the Act 1 and 2 hires were in the original? Much better! Brava!

Diablo II is not the most fun game in the world. After playing it for over an hour I and other people I have asked, tended to get bored. The one thing it is though is incredibly addictive. The quest to gain new skill points and especially items is nearly impossible to resist, even after you've beaten the game multiple times. I would have given this game a five star rating, except the bugs kept me from doing so. The game would constantly freeze up and then act as if I had died and force me to lose a percentage of my gold and also to retrieve my body. This would not only happen in gameplay, but also as I was exiting. I had an Nvidia Geforce 256 and DirectX 7.0. I updated DirectX to the latest version (8.0a) and the game was still extremely buggy. I then updated my Nvidia drivers and it has been working quite well since. My graphics card came out approximately two months before the original Diablo II and the game should have been compatible. Even if not, the incompatability should have been corrected in this expansion. This major annoyance kept me from giving this otheriwse great game five stars.

I own every Blizard game ever made and I have never been as disappointed as I was with Diablo II and the expansion. It is exactly like the original with nothing to offer that would make it worth of the original. So save you money and look to anouther game. This is the one Blizard game I wish I did not own.

The game is fun, but with blizzard's constant eye over World of Warcraft, Diablo II hasn't been paid attention to in years. :(

I generally call upon the musical factor of pro- gaming, and especially the Diablo- saga. The game itself offers(forgive me now) nothing really new. We have seen Level this Level that- I Am Invincible Now - roleplay before (even the quasi 3-d), haven't we? The true feeling and, simultanously, playability of a gaming experience, lies in the esthetics within the game itself. The things immune to any trainer/cheats... Ever tried watching Star Wars/ Twin Peaks/ Aliens/ Anything, really - muted!? I fell in love with certain games (believe me I never played them all), and it can't be a matter of coincidence that "they" did, too. You have found a very gifted musical composer,( wavefile- scientist) ok? Could be Greater music... I was raised Vic-20Commodore (boulder dash yes really), landed in this, which is Williams-Wagner-Beethoven i.o.w cineastic music. I can/will set new standards for gaming experience, will work for You efficiantly
