I thought this game was okay when I first got it, but it just got boring after only a few weeks. Although I like sports games, this got boring way to fast. The pitchers would throw way to slow and then they give you a special throw that is almost impossible to hit. Also if you care for graphics much, don't buy this game. If you love baseball, try Triple Play 98 or 99.

O.K.

This game is great at first but gets really boring. I hated the fact of fatigue because Pete Weeler is the fastest person and becomes the slowest. If you only have the shadow to tell you where the ball is then it's the best.If it shows you where the actual ball is then it's almost an automatic homerun even for the average player.

This is a great baseball game I liked it better than Triple Play Baseball and I do own both.It is both cheaper and better than Triple Play and the other PS2 baseball games,so you think what makes this game so special,a lot of things. For striking out a batter you get a special which can be used 3 times. To name just a few Elevator,Heater,Corkscrew and Spitball.A Heater is the same as a fastball, but thrown twice as hard.I think most of you know what a spitball is.An elevator is my favorite pitch(that I have unlocked yet, anyway.)After the pitcher releases the baseball it rolls on the ground but when it reaches the plate it goes where you wanted to throw it.Corkscrew looks like a slowball until it reaches the plate spins around a few times then goes where you wanted it to go.Plus you just keep unlocking more when you strike someone out.Now to the batting, you have a little white symbol shaped like a bat which you move around you see a baseball which is where the pitcher is going to throw the ball. There are four boxes on the right side of what you hope to do with the ball if you make contact:power, line drive which is default, grounder or bunt.At first it is a little hard making contact but in a short period of time you will be getting hits easily.Because the players are kids not pros, they make mistakes often on easy(I mean CPU players)you can beat out a bunt, beat out a grounder, turn a single into a double, turn a doubles into triples into homeruns, which is very exciting. This is what makes the game so great, cool batting and great pitching. Also if you get a double play, you get what is called an undergrounder. It is one of the hitting choices with line drive,grounder,etc.,etc.The undergrounder is very cool, when you hit the ball it goes underground for a while.During this time your hitter runs the bases then when they have touched second the ball pops out of the outfield wall,in the confusion your player is still running,if the opposing team has great defense you will get a triple. If they have bad defense you will get an inside the park homerun.Hitting is overall good. Now to defense, defense is ok but could have been better. You click the ball to get it not very entertaining, but ok.Running the bases is fun click to go to next base.Click a small icon in the upper left corner to steal.Overall the best baseball game I have ever played.A must buy,the only reason I didn't give it five stars is because the defense isn't great.

Great Baseball, Fun Game

This game is definatly better than the first one. You can choose to play a real team, or, the always availible backyard logos. Now you can pick real players(some have retired by now though) or the talented backyard kids.
When you play the easy mode, it's easy! My cousin has won 50 to 0! The medium level is a bit more challenging. You still win pretty easily, but I've got myself cought in a couple of games that are still too hard. The hard is HARD, well not too hard. The scores are now like baseball scores. Not 32 to 4, but 3 to 4 and so on.
Well I think it's a great game. Ready to be played by children of all ages. Just say thanks to Humonguous, the pro players, and the backyard kids for all this fun. I also recommend Bakyard Football, Soccer, and Basketball.

This game consists of picking players for your team by learning a bit about each player, what they are good at or not good at in baseball. Then you can choose your team's name, colors, and whether to play one game or a season. You tell your pitcher what pitch to throw & where to throw it - or, if you are up to bat, you tell your player when to swing.
It is a fun game, however I strongly recommend it for ages 7 and up. There is some reading necessary - and you must be able to comprehend what defines a "good" baseball player. For the older child - it can be hours of entertainment - and satisfying when you pick a winning team!

My son loves this game, I agree with everyone's review about the great qualities this game offers. However, he would like to play his Dad, and this game doesn't offer a two player option. You can only play the computer or the internet.

it is easy to play, and you can beat the computer. Even a one year old can play the game and win because it is that easy

I know why i love this game, it is because it provides me hours of fun and excitement. you are your own coach and you have to make wise decisions or your team won't win the championship.

My six-year old loves it but can't understand it

Cheap and richly adorned, this game takes some skill to play. My young daughter finds it fascinating; she likes it mostly because she unknowingly gets creamed by the computer-managed opponent. That is, she thinks the computer is managing her team; a 21-0 loss is a 21-0 win for her.

I am only a slightly better player and much better at realizing just how poorly I am doing. The options are plentiful, from choices among exotic and attractive ball fields (boy, I should have been so lucky as a kid), line ups (as a kid, fielding a full team in the backyard would constitute a once-in-kid's lifetime dream), to pitch selection (for me as a kid it was simply throw hard, harder or harder still).

Not for the impatient or the slow-witted. But this is baseball.

good game

This is a fairly fun game which is meant for younger kids and not for older kids so if your 10 or up and you find it boring your above the recommended age groups so you get what you deserve. All and all its a good game and well worth your money if your in the age group.
