A Raunchy Good Time

After all the hype surrounding this game, I was expecting nothing more than vulgar British jokes with so-so gameplay. To my surprise, this is one of the best looking, best sounding, best playing, and funny games on the N64. Although it has a mature rating, I found the material to be nothing more than PG-13 stuff. However, for those of us above the 15-17 year age group, Rare has included some subtle, hilarious jokes that I'm sure younger kids would miss. This game looks very very good. Although the frame rate takes a hit in open areas, the true stars are the characters. Their animations, voices, and originality are what makes this game for me. The sound is probably the best I have ever heard from an N64 game. The tunes are reminscent of the old Warner Bros. cartoons, and the sound effects are in surround sound! From a gameplay point of view, you won't find anything new from the 3-d platform genre, but the context-sensitive pads do add a bit of a twist. In addition to the character animations, I must say that the references to movies are outstanding! I don't want to spoil any of it, but I'm sure you'll find one of your favorite movies spoofed in here. I have never gotten bored with this game, and I think this is the last good N64 game that everyone should play.

Dirty Humor; Great Fun

The thing that makes this game worth it isn't just the great opening that parrallels A Clockwork Orange, but also all the extra features it has. Not only does it have the main game that is challenging and funny, with the karaoke opera poop boss, but it also has a bunch of side games that are fun to play by yourself, or with a group of friends.

I don't think I would say this game is suitable for people under the age of 15, just because of the vulgarity, drugs, and sexual references.

Otherwise, it's probably one of the funnest games I have, a definite 5 stars, and worth a look.

Some of the paradies are so funny because most of them are hidden. Without saying that though, the more obvious ones like D-day and the Matrix are hilarious because they put cute characters into a bloody world and they overexaggerate on certain aspects.

Finally, a change

Conker's BFD has been delayed too long, but it was worth the wait. It started out as Twelve Tales: Conker 64, but i guess Rare wanted to create a Mature-rated game (finally). It's a good change from the goody-two-shoes games (no offence). I guess some of the content is extreme, but if you don't get offended too easily, this is one of the best games ever made for the N64. It has great game-play and graphics (just avoid the content if it bothers you). It is hilarious at times when certain movies are imitated, such as The Matrix and Saving Private Ryan. Get it.

Truly entertaining

It seems that the only thing people talk about for Conker is it's never-before-seen "Super-M" rating.

Even if you take all of that away, back down to the "E"-rated game at it's heart, it's still one of the best platformers around. Very easy to pick up, very intuitive. A lot of it is standard platforming fare, but the levels are well-designed and fairly straightforward, but not too easy. The context-sensitive "action" buttons add a neat twist. The graphics are second-to-none for the N64. The voice-acting is supurb, and the characters actually lip-sync to the spoken words. The range of expression that Conker himself is capable of is simply amazing. If he's tired, angry, worried.. all of this comes across with flying colors.

On to what everybody is talking about: Conker's "M" rating. Is it as bad as people say it is? No. Does it make this an "adults" game? Yes, actually, it does. While the worst curses are still censored, there's still quite a few that are blatantly hollered out (and displayed on-screen in "talk bubbles"). The great thing about this is that it's not put in the game just for the sake of putting it in the game. The cursing is not as wide-spread as you'd think. It fits perfectly into whatever situation is going on, and it's not over-the-top.

Basically, the game says and does what we all wish games would say and do. Remember those game scenes in other games where it was kinda cheesy because they censored when they should have cussed? Well, now they cuss. And let me tell you, it's hilarious coming from such a cute little squirrel.

All in all, you can't go wrong with this game. Gameplay-5, Graphics-5, Fun-5.

Not for the Kiddies

Hey Mom, I know there is one reading this b/c their son or daughter asked for this game. Don't get it for them, get them a Furby or Paper Mario b/c this game too raunchy for kids under 16 or 17. The language is somewhere around PG-13 to R, while the worst words are censored, you can basically make out what they're saying, like in South Park.

The game is top notch quality wise, the picture and sound are absolutely the best ever on a N64. The one thing I don't like is how the camera/point-of-view moves, it can be disorienting at times. The puzzles actually require thought and imagination. They are not simple, find all the switches, turn them on, open door, etc like on Bond or Perfect Dark. The Multi-player option is neat as well, you can choose which side to be on, example; be the runners trying to get past the guns on the beach, or try to shoot the runners. I've just started this game, and I have found it more interesting than Zelda. PS: The pitch fork, the paint pot, and the brush are hilarious.

Nintendo should've released this baby earlier...

If this had been released earlier in the life of the system, people might've held on to it longer, instead of searching elsewhere, like playstation and Dreamcast.

The fact is, the game is hilarious, (Birdy, Conker and the guy that works for the panther King all had me bursting in tears) and it can't be beaten for raucous, disgusting and downright dirty humour.

The graphics and sound are amazing. Though the single player is quite short, you're sure to try it again. And it does get pretty tricky and frustrating at times. And once you're done with the single, you can move on to multiplayer...which kicks A**!! The CTF, Heist, Beach and Race are some of the better ones. Also the Deathmatch is awesome (especially the bunker level, where you can dispense a certain body fluid at the other players whilst in the bathroom...and it does damage!).

The fact is though, this came to late. Instead of saving the system from becoming to childish, this title was pushed to a date that could only appease those few fans who waited patiently, knowing eventually there'd be a good title on the system. If this game had been released a year ago, the N64 might not be on its last limb, but now this game is only out there for the select few who held onto their 64, or the Pokemon audience, who are likely to retch 5 minutes into the game.

Buy it...you won't be disappointed.

The Funniest Game Around

Never before have I played a game that has managed to make me laugh so much, I had to stop and rest because my stomach hurt.

And it doesn't stop there - the mix of graphics, sound, story and plain ole' fun was enough for me to aimlessly play this game for hours...

Rare knows how to push the Nintendo 64 to it's limits, and they take the time to ensure every game reaches those limits. Not to mention; they understand what gamers are looking for in a game.<>All in all, Nintendo puts it best- It's not the hardware or how many polygons it can push. It's the software; making our games fun is what counts."

Although I can't wait to see Rare push the Gamecube to it's limits, Conquers BFD will more than satisfy me until then.

The squirrel is back, and now he has his own adventure!

Seriously...this game is HILARIOUS! It's a combination of a little kind squirrel and a bunch of dirty gangstas...it completely doesn't match. They also throw in some bathroom humor, which really makes the game look quite stupid. I don't get how the game made me laugh so hard, but it did. Try it first (rent it) and I'm going to assume 90% that you like it. There's so much 2 b seen.
