Ok, well, I gave Tony Hawk's Underground only 2 Stars because of the length of the game. I beat this game in three days, and then tried to play more, but it was just boring after you finsihed the game.

On the other hand, The gameplay is smooth, and its a fun game while it lasts. That part deserves about 4 stars.

This is a fun game for a few hours, and definatley deserves a rent or two... but definately not a $50.00 purchase, you'll get bored in less than a week

What happened? This Tony Hawk game is the most visually appealing in the series, the controls are butter, the music is hot (Murs and Busdriver on the soundtrack? Crazy!!) but it is a disappointment. I played the game for maybe an hour at a stretch, and beat the whole thing in a week. That is terrible! Most of the other Hawk games were much more challenging; this one falls short. The driving is lame, and being able to get off your board is cool, but not that cool. Buy it used, or rent it. Save your money for the new GTA box set (which is SUPER HOT!).

Warning, This Game Is Not For Claustrophobic People!

Ok This is no skateboarding game, this is a fiesta of cardriving and stupid stunts, not a real skateboarding game. YOu dont have to be the best skateboarder to win, you just have to be the stupidist. Dont believe me? Then how come everything you do is a stunt, not involving skateboarding in anyway, and so dangerous that only an idiot would ever try it. DONT BUY THIS GAME IF YOU WANT TRUE SKATYEBOARDING FUN, instead buy THPS 1, 2, 3, or 4. BUY THIS GAME if you want a bunch of daredevil nonsense.

They ruined TONY!!!!!

We should have seen this coming. It started with THPS4, a skateboarding game with some mini games, cool. But with T.H.U.G, I felt like I was playing Tomb Raider, or GTA. Sure the're good games, and if I wanted to play them I would. But when I'm playing a skateboarding game, the last thing I want to do is climb, run, jump, and drive!!!! It wouldn't be so bad if the control wasn't so horrid. The driving is stiff and unresponsive, the jumping and climb are frustrating and pointless, and the story of you the skater is boring and just plain stupid. The skating itself is great. As deep and chalanging as ever. But the first 1/2 hour of the game you may only do 5 min of skating. I sloged through the game so i could just free-skate, which is ok. But over all this game is very lacking, espicially when you consider all the hype. I think John Ashcroft and the DEA helped pay for this game, since the first level is you busting drug dealers(again I have to ask WHY???) McDonalds was in on the action too, can't forget them. I don't know how many times I saw non-skating ads in this game, it's worse than a magazine. All I have to say is that I'm glad I rented it first, because I'll never buy this game. I'd sooner pay 50$ for T.H.P.S.3 or buy that wakeboarding game, but not this. SSX3 (unfortunately) is the best extream sports game going at the moment, far surpassing THUG in control, fun, graphics, fun, replayability and fun... did I mention that THUG wasn't really that much fun? Well it's not. Thanks for ruining one of my favorate games!!!

too easy

maybe its just me. having been incredibly sick for a week... i spent a full 8 hours straight (with enough cold medicine to kill a small pony) playing it and got the the 2nd to last level. Within a week I had beaten it and gotten the two secret characters... then I just never returned to it.

The graphics and gameplay are spectacular but once you beat it there isn't much replay value... in my opinion. Unlike Tony Hawk 3 where I screwed around on that damn half pipe for an hour at a time I just didn't have a great deal of fun going around the same Hawaiian parking lots and doing the same grinds. The walking feature is phenomenal but anyone who's played the Tony Hawk series as long as I have (since i stole the one-level promo for THPS1 at my geeky neighbors house) will use it and abuse it quickly enough for it to get tired.

The online play makes it worth replay... on the same side of that coin its terribly annoying having 30,000 dyslexic 14 year olds type in caps all day straight like "IM GNNA BEET YOR @$$" and "u suk". I'm not saying they should be listening to Bach and smoking expensive cigars and quoting Neitchze I'm just saying if you're old enough to not have your mom drive you to the mall to get your 'Punkd' box set it gets a little old.

Speaking of which the music is a big step up and I never got bored listening to 90% of the stuff on there. If you dislike pop-punk and want to hear your own playlist (whoever put The Crowd's 'Modern Machine' on there is GOD) its a great feature.

The your-face-in-the-game feature only seems to work out well if you're Ansel freaking Adams. I tried about 4 pictures. I ended up looking like Shrek as opposed to my own sexy self. Although Kate Moss makes a brilliant female skater, ya know?

That being said its not that bad. Yay for Tony Hawk.

I've played Tony Hawk since the first one came out on N64. Graphics are good in TH Underground. Gets boring after you've beat it. The objectives should have more to do with skating. Some objectives on that game have to do with crap like rescuing ppl. I buy the frekin game to SKATE. Thats why it only deserves a 3 outta 5, cuz it needs a new edge. Its not fun after you beat it becuz if you play it again, its pointless. LaTer.

i cant believe this

this game reeks of a series gone bad. in 1 + 2 you could pull insane tricks, keep longer grinds, use better skateparks, and not have to worry about the stupidest goals in the world. this game is basicly 4 with big courses you cant do tricks on and a career mode. they seem to have foregotten that in 2 that they had the same thing were you skate for cash to get boards and stat points. this game shows how far this series has gone down hill. for the price of this game get hawk 1+2 and shaun palmer ( like hawk but on snowboards and even better).

Does Not Make Any Sense!

I played this game with my son and both of us were pretty blown away by how the graphics in this game were so horrendous. We stopped playing the game for a little while. It is fun skating around, but it is not as challenging as, American Wasteland.
