This is a GREAT GAME!

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 0 / 1

This game is excellent. It's fun, entertaining, there's plenty to do, and the new Story Mode is great. The tricks are perfect, it's very easy to pull off a huge combo with the Revert and Manuals. One of the best things about the game is its user friendliness. You are able to pause and Save at any time during the Story mode, you can restart your current goal very easily, you can even see a list of all the goals and see the ones you missed so you can go back to whichever level and complete them. Also, there's a wide range of difficulty levels for any type of Tony Hawk gamer. If this is your very first Tony game, and you put it on the easiest, then when you have to get a certain score to beat a goal, the points you have to get will be very low, like 10,000 or something. However, when you put the story mode on the hardest mode, you might have to get 150,000. The game is so fun, and so perfect. I've owned every Tony Hawk game, and this is BY FAR the best one. GET THIS GAME NOW! You won't regret it.

I like this game and all, great graphics but wayyyy to easy... there needs to be more stages or more challenges. for your advice i'd rent the game... bcuz i beat it n baout 6 hours, it wasnt too hard. I like the way how you can design your board but i dont think you can put enough letters on your board... also i dont like how everything bad happens all at once, wuts the chance its going to in real life? I'd have to say the best thing on this game is how you can design your own tricks thats pretty cool but it dont give you alot of points if u make a very hard trick.... this game gets 2 stars from me!

The game is really good and is extremely realistic. It's better than the other 4 games and the graphics are also good. The only thing is that the x-box version doesn't allow you to put your face in the game or play online. I recommend the PS2 version for full satisfaction. Every thing is the same, even the graphics.

The Tony Hawk series seems like it's been going on forever, and each game seems to add on even more innovation than the last game. But the question must be asked: What more could Activision add to the fifth installment of a skateboard game? Well to be truthful, after playing copious amount of hours there was plenty to be added to the series and this installment has proved it.

The gameplay has been completely revolutionized with the ability to GET OFF your skateboard. Getting of your skateboard and walking allows the player to climb, jump, and run to new elevations and new area's of the city which lets you find secret places to skate. Not only do you get the ability to walk, but you get the ability to drive! Yes, drive in the city hitting and wrecking anything you choose to.

Another cool thing about THUG was that it was free roaming based. Which means you don't always have to do objectives and your practically free to do what you want in the various cities you visit. In short, the gameplay engine is similar to the ever-popular Grand Theft Auto series. THUG is even story driven, which is a huge innovation for the series. With each task and objective you complete, a peice of the story is opened and a new slew of objectives arrive and are waiting to be completed.

The sound and music was great. Especially if you have an XBox, not only because the XBox supports Dolby Digital 5.1, but because it let's you make your own custom soundtrack from all your CD's. The voice acting was good because all the voices were bearable.

The graphics were good, but they were not exactly up to par. Especially seeing as I was playing the XBox version, and we all know what the XBox is capable of doing. The animation for the tricks and moves was flawless, everything moved completely smooth and hiccup free.

To sum this game up for the XBox I would have to put it like this: It's good, so buy it. If you follow my advice you will not be dissapointed.

Hit
+ Solid gameplay
+ Great sound and music
+ Very innovative for the series
+ Good graphics

Miss
_ Graphics are good but they could be better
_ No facemaker for the GC or XBox version

Good, for as long as it last

Tony Hawk Underground suffers from what has been going on since THPS3, and that's the gameplay, the levels are fun for the missions or storyline but the levels after are really short Tony Hawk 1 and 2 were perfect on level length but now the levels are really short and it takes a lot of the fun away, but the story mode was a good feature, even though being short and kind of easy itself it still is quite fun, but i would like to see longer levels because after you're done with the game the levels get boring

Best Tony Hawk game!

WOW...that's all I have to say about this game. I'm done. Bye. Just kidding. This game is awesome! This game marks one of the most customizeable games ever made, and the best Tony Hawk game ever made. First off, if you like the create a park option from the past Tony Hawk games, then you will most likely have some sort of spasm or seizure from joy when you meet the park editor for this game! Buildings, roads, cars, freeways, street lights, tanks, helicopters, grass, dirt, spikes, lava, even underground stuff, plus the long-awaited archways and tunnels! Gosh, I haven't even scratched the surface! You can even create your own goals for the level you make! It's just like in Tony Hawk 4 where you go up to a person and push a button and they give you a goal-except you can set where the person is (anywhere, even on top of buildings), you can set their name, the type of goal, what the person says to you, and what they say when you complete the goal. It's amazing! Do you like creating long, winding rails that go through the whole level? But did you get frustrated that they couldn't go anywhere you wanted them to? Well, be frustrated no more!! There's the classic rail tool included, but the amazing part is the new one. You set a point where you want the rail to start, move it around ANYWHERE-over freeways or buildings, under archways, or even through mid-air, and add pieces from the classic rail tool, like curves or something, and then continue creating off of that. It's amazing! As for the story mode-it's Tony Hawk with new and highly detailed levels, and a pretty good storyline. It actually makes you feel like you're in the game! The ability to get off your skateboard and walk around and jump and get on and off of buildings and powerlines is very fun and makes the whole feel and accessibility of the game greater. The create a skater mode is better, too. Before, you could only choose a face and sretch it or constrict it, but in ths one you change the size of the nose, the eyes, the jaw, the forehead, and a lot more. There are also a lot more things to choose from in the clothing and gear lineup. Everyone should get this game, wether a fan or not!

The best, but shortest of the Tony series

The Tony Hawk series is my favorite series of video games. THis happens to be the best of them.

This game has three different modes to skate in. One of them is Free Skate, where you get to choose any proffessional skateboarder you want, or any created skater, and play in the levels you have unlocked in story mode( which I will soon talk about). The next mode is 2- player mode. It's the same as free skate, just you get to play on a split screen with someone. The best mode is Story Mode. This mode starts you out a skate punk ready to try to make it pro. You create a skater and then play the first level and increase your stats. You can skate around and talk to people who give you goals to acclomplish. You can try them as many times as you want until you get them. There is also a "view goal" screen that lets you look at all the goals that you can attempt. You just select one, and it brings you to that level and you start that goal. You also unlock the option of creating a deck in story mode. There are nine secret tapes, one for each level. The ninth tape is for the level you unlock at the ned of story mode. You can only find them in story mode. You can't watch these tapes, but you can unlock videos to watch by getting a certain number of them. The only bad thing about story mode, is that it is very short. Thee are also three secret levels. levels I beat it in three days.

T.H.U.G. has four other small modes to try. Create a skater mode, create a deck mode, create a trick mode, and create a park mode. Create a skater and create a park are already unlocked at the beginning. Create a deck mode is unlocked once beating a competion late into Story Mode.

The graphics are outstanding, besides the fact that people don't look like their they're talking when they are. It looks like a dubbed Japanese movie.

Another great feature of THUG, is the option to get off your board and walk or run. You can also climb. Other new features are spine transfers, and new flatland tricks.

Overal this is my favorite video game besides the fact that story mode lasts only three days.

Better than PS2 version

This is good with great combos with tricks. A new feature is getting of your board and it works because if you're about to bail you can jump of your board and you can reach areas easier such as roof tops. You can drive cars and don't exspect much because it's mediacore, to pickup scaters you drive rite into them as if you gona run over them. The driving parts are nothing like GTA but it's okay. You can create your own tricks. This has a story line with cutcenes that are only worth watching first time through.

Playing this does not want to make me Scateboard.
