a really sweet take-off of the Fast and the Furious

if you like the fast and the furios or 2fast... or if you like turbocharged nos cars then this is the perfect game for you. you can play up to 4 players and pick real cars from the real world including the mits eclipse, skyline, impreza, supra and many others. if you love a game where you can custimiz EVERYTHING out of your car then this is perfect. decals, vinals, window tinting, neon, tail lights, head lights, tail pipe, roof scoop, bumpers, hood, rims, paint, and of course the performance stuff like ecu fuel computer, suspension, nos, brakes, engine/exaust and lots more. lots of chalenging races with a huge party for the winner with hot chicks surrounding you and the car, cheering. get free parts if you accept a challenge from other garage or car owners. see your car on real magazines including Modified, import tuner, and turbo charged. also it features jump cameras which get the better view if you get air or flip up in the air from hitting something. choose from multiple races including drag, circut, lap knockout, drift adn others. if you tried other racing games and were not satisfied, give this game your last chance and youll love it.

The Underground-concept, based on completing 111 events, is great. You're also able to customize your car visually and performance-wise, and that's another plus. Honorary mention for the soundtrack. It's great (especially compared to something like Project Gotham 2's soundtrack.)

On the downside, every event seems to take place in the SAME area. The same track over and over. Steering is too sensitive. It's not a good feeling. The textures in the game are not of highest quality. The movies are 100% class, but the in-game graphics are not. Moreover, the game slows down considerably in some spots of the maps. It's like it was ported to the XBOX but never optimized for it. This is not fun because you're going full speed ahead and in the middle of a curve the game slows down for a few seconds and then back to full speed.

I'd not spend my money on this if I were you. Compare to Project Gotham 2, and the latter wins hands down. The graphics are better, the controls are better, and the maps are more and better.

i love the idea about street racing and performance and visual tunning and all but nfs was too fake. i guess it's the physics engine or something but the performance bars like handling, acceleration, top speed for the individual cars are irrellevant. if you have the skline r34 and a miata tunned up with the max upgrades (level 3 upgrades) and go racing with them the performance difference is not that visible. and another thing the cpu opponents are cheaters, the game cheats for them for example you send them hitting into something solid and youre like 15 seconds ahead on the track with the trolley they just come outa no where and within a short space of time there behind you like whatup!. this is not possible unless they use all of their nos, even with all of your nos if you was to be the one in the back you will never catch up. i think the ea gave them unlimited nos or something becasue they be way behind then they catch up to you even if you're driving perfectly and they still have nos to use, only one word FAKE. get pgr2 when you drive dirty and spin someone out, if you drive perfectly they will NEVER catch you, that real! Drag and Drift and some Sprints is the only good this game has. the circuit and knockout they cheat in. this game is ok but pgr2 and gt3 gt4 etc just blow it away.

This is the greatest game out today-maybe even ever.The graphics are pretty well detailed and the gameplay is great. The underground mode lets you chose your car and as you win races, custamize it. The controls are a little dull as in all racing games, but they still have some strong points. The best part though, is it brings the street racing to life-such as at the end of a race the fans gather around the winner's car. Plus, the sound track is great. They even pulled out "Get Low".Overall, great game. It's a definite buyer.

I finally got the game and started playing it and found it to be alot of fun. There is a bunch of stuff to unlock and it will take days to get it. Some stuff about the game could have been better though, such as the soundtrack. While it has good songs it seems the same ones are being played all the time. The Nos in the game isn't worth putting on your car as it only seems to work for the computer. The car physics are somewhat realistic and will leave you screaming at the tv when it seems like your car is going out of control. The graphics and sounds are top notch, the detail in the cars and city are some of the best around. While there are better games on the Xbox, you should at least try renting this if you have any intrest in it at all. If you only have $50 and want a racing game go with Project Gotham Racing 2.

when i first got this game i hated it
i in the end decided to keep playing it because all of my friends said it will get better
the reason i hate it is because u can be winning a reace the entire time and push over a tad to much, hit traffic and lose the race 10 feet from the finishline
in this game there is no room for screw ups at all
this game will make u mad, u will throw your controller, u will use fowel language
but on the flip side u will have a blast dezineing you dream car and makeing money to buy up grades so that it is faster, and can handle better

if u do buy this game which i think you should, when u r picking ur car get the 1 that has the best handleing, u wont be sorry

if at first u hate this game keep on trying and eventually, loseing the race when youre just 10 feet from the finish line will become a part of life

Well, this game is the best racing game I've ever played....I love how you can customize your car in just about every way. The graphics are awsome...the sound is awsome...it has a good soundtrack, but after a while the songs start to get boring, and it seems like they play the same songs over and over again. The only problem I have with this game is, when your racing, and there's other traffic around, you barely hit a car, and you go flying 100 feet in the air, and then you can hit a car going 200 mph and you hardly move at all, that is the only part in the game that is unrealistic, but everything else about the game is totally awsome...cant wait until Underground 2 comes out... I SOO recommend this game. So stop reading reviews and go buy it already!

they said it was four players. i got it and its not... it should've have been, so for those people who wants this game because its 4-players dont buy it. i give it 4-1/2 stars

i think this game is awsome. Xbox put a lot of work to make this game very popular. I played NFS for Xbox two days ago, and it was cool. Why cool because u can customize ur car like: the wheels, bumpers, and color. U can even put lights at the bottom of ur car. There are also cars like: Mitsubishi, Acura, and many more. The grahpics of the game is so much better than the PS2 NFS Underground. When u go over 100 mph the graphics chage and it makes it look so much cooler. The handling of the cars are so smooth. The levels are not that long (Im not trying to say that the people who made the game needed to make it a little bit longer) but fun. Who cares if the game is for 2 players only as long as if its not boring or a waste your money for nothing game. If ur at home and u have games that r to easy for u then u better challenge yourself with NFS to see if u got game. This is a must buy game, not a game to be rented.

Alright people heres the thing, NFS: Underground is the best racing game in the history of racing games! If these other idiots were good enough they wouldn't have to worry about the AI, oh boo hoo the other cars catch up, if you know how to race then you don't have to worry about them passing you. The other guys complaining about the framing rate, it stupid as well the game is really almost perfect. All the engine and visual upgrades are almost endless, yeah when you get to a point you cant make anymore engine upgrades, but in life that is how it works too! My advice...BUY THIS GAME, you won't be dissapointed, if you're not a good racer don't worry about it, you'll get used to it, just get ready to get blown away! And to the other guys stop whining about no online play and the AI, get over it!
