First of all nerd, halo two is not a little kid game. Infact is you had done any research at all, over 55% of people that own halo 2 are over 18. This is probably the best fps out there. Well, now that call of duty 2 came out, second. But halo two has the best multiplayer of any game ever known. Its multiplayer smokes even xbox 360 multiplayer games. the only people that don't like this game don't have xbox live. You don't know halo 2 until you play big team battle on xbox live. i mean seriously, xbox live halo 2 will keep you in your house for months and years. I have had halo 2 since it came out and have not become bord of it. i have been playing at least 1 time a week the entire year. usually more.
it is sooooooooooooooooooo addicting. i know its pretty nerdy but i can't stop. Many people agree with me but are to emmbaressed to say it.

I think the first one is better than the Sequel because Microsoft and Bungie should've done a better on making
The Game so what my opinion is that I think Halo: Combat Evolved is better than Halo 2 because this Game Sucks!

The hype machine strikes again...

One of the reasons I bought an X-Brick was for the Sega titles; I've always loved Sega games, and it seemed that Sega was bringing out all its best and quirkiest titles to the 'Brick. In anticipation for Panzer Dragoon: Orta, the first game I picked up was, like so many others, the original Halo. Needless to say, I was addicted and became one of the best players in my region, and after wasting god-knows how many hours of my life sober, drunk or half-asleep playing it, I was caught up in the breathless anticipation for the sequel.

That was, of course, until I began to see the amount of hype poured into it; too much hype is the toxin that destroys even the best titles, and knowing how flawed--charmingly so, mind you, but still flawed--the original Halo was, I began to lose faith in this new Halo. Until the E3 demo video.

This video showed what I believed to be the zenith of action gaming, and everything I wanted--large battles, squadrons of vehicles, intelligent AI, massive cities, and so much more. You all know what video I'm talking about. So what of the final product?

Eternally cynical as always, I didn't purchase it - I waited for a buddy to get it, and actually sold my X-Brick beforehand as I just had the most awful of premonitions concerning this game; unfortunately, all my worst fears were come true, as this is one of the most disappointing games I've ever played.

The graphics are really not much of a step up from the first game, and many of the levels look grainy and run choppy, and when it comes to the single-player campaign--for which I wanted the game--the plot is absolutely god-awful, and the levels are more a chore than a joy.

That's all fine and good, though, as my premonitions were proven correct once again: a game with that much hype has to be a failure waiting to happen. What really irked me, though, was the E3 demo video; it was presented in a way that made one expect the game to match that scale, whereas the finished product was more subdued and boring than the original! Battles were rarely large and never epic, and 95% of the cityscape so well presented in that glorious demo video was replaced with some dirty, dingy training-style level lacking in any sort of scale. Nice trick, Bungie and Microsoft, but you lost me.

Is there any merit in this game at all? Perhaps the multiplayer. After the incomplete cutscene ending--yes, the cutscene just cuts off in the middle, as though they just ran out of ideas and time--the single player is just a flaming train wreck disaster, and the multiplayer I suppose is the only reason you would purchase this smoldering pile.

Am I bitter? Not really; I sold my XBrick. Get it if you like multiplayer; don't get it if you like a nice campaign or cooperative mode.

In my opinion, the graphics are not as good as the first Halo. With regard to the gameplay, it's just more of the same. For those people who are upset with the below average story, go read a Dickens' novel...YOUR NOT BUYING THIS GAME FOR A GOOD STORY, IT'S BECAUSE YOU WANT TO SHOOT ALIENS!!! And there sure are plenty to shoot. If there are any NHL players reading this review and playing video games, PLEASE put down the controller, call your player union rep. and let's play hockey!!!

too overhyped

I was extremely dissapointed in this game. I loved the first on, but in Halo 2 the creators made the game too complicated which ended up making the game not nearly as fun as the first. The first Halo was revolutionary but the 2nd Halo is boring to me. My friends after all of us bought Halo 2 we got together and played Halo 1 over Halo 2 because all of us didn't like the game. The guns suck in this game too. The pistol and machine gun suck. I own both a ps2 and an xbox and i have to say that killzone is way better than this game. So get killzone.

Halo 2 and Halo 3

Since e3 the trailer still left me aw. The game's new fundamentals like dual weilding and car jacking make the game great. The campaighn though, great storyline, but takes only five hours to complete. Though it makes up for ti with incredibal maps on XBOX LIVE and uses XBOX AWARE. Halo 3 will soon come out the next year to come. Halo 3 trailer, if you lookclosely, shows Gravemind the big Flood thing, right beside Cortana's neck when she says "Im your shield, Im your sword" and you see his tentical. Another thing what if Gravemind manupulated the Master Cheif's mind to do evil. Becaus it shows only him in the ruins of earth with many covenat ships passing by and he doesn't do anything about it. Also what if the ARK is on earth that is used against the Flood, because Noah's Ark and the flood, yeah kind of simarler

I can find better stuff in the trash dump

What a load of crap, I waited for a few years for this to come out, as it was supposed to be better than the first. But this was junk. I already returned it to the vendor. This was like watching the Kansas City Royals play Tampa Bay... Otherwise known as a waste of time. DOnt buy it!!!!!!!!!!! or , return it if u did!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate blood. This is the worst game I played in my gaming career. Those who thinks Master Chief is unbeatenable, YOU ARE ALL WRONG IDIOTS. MetalSonic can rip him up (by copying all of his powers and abilities. He has that ability.) into shreads. That simple. He copies the power and the ability they can do, mix it into the power of chaos and KABOOM. Your done. Not even Kirby can kill him. I'm going to rip this game into shreads.

Not as big of an improvement as Grand Theft Auto San Andreas

Wasn't a big fan of the first title for a number or reasons. One being the story mode being repetative and two for making everyone a master cheif on multiplayer. It seemed rush. The sequel stills has a dull story mode but the multiplayer is a lot better but I normally don't have 16 buddies to play with so I normally worry about single player and this one fails. Thats why San Andreas rules in my book. You can not beat San Andreas before Halo 2 guarenteed.

Halo, and Halo 2, the most over rated games in history

Let me summarize this game for you: its repetitive! It gets old!
You will run around in circles for hours and hours trying to kill each other. Around, around, around, and around. If that rocks your boat (like it does thousands of xbox gamers) then feel free to buy this. Where is the substance?
One other point, I am tired of hearing people refer to other games as "this is a halo rip off.... this is a halo rip off...." Guess what? Halo is an "UNREAL rip off" it stole every concept it has from unreal tournament. SO put that in you pipes and smoke it.
I gave it an extra star for the graphics....if you MUST have this type of game, Id wait for doom III. At least it's a gory adventure game, besides a FPS
