A good game.

I think what will make the biggest difference in if you like this game or not, is if you liked the movie TRON. That may sound kind of obvious, but I think it really applies in this games case.
As a TRON fan, playing through this game was an absolute blast for me. It's like being in the movie, only it looks 100 times better than the actual movie did. I have all the needed hardware to run this game, only my pathetic 248 RAM holding me back. But it looks and plays perfect on the games medium settings. The only problem I have is horridly long loading screens.
So as a fan, the environments, friend and foe programs, neat wepons (mainly the beloved Disk!) and all the computer jargon will keep you playing again and again.
However, and I hate to say it, if you aren't a fan, I don't think this game will hold your interest very long. Don't get me wrong, it is still worth a play, but it won't stand up to games like Half Life...
The story is rather choppy, the enemies are not real varied, the levels will most likley seem the same after a few, and the light cycles will just drive you nuts!
I think it's a great game, but I'm a fan. I doubt anyone who can run it will think this is a bad game, but not everyone will give it the rave reviews that we fans do.

'Dedicated' or 'Shared'(Integrated) video card!

This game sounds like another high-end game,I suggest for laptop users 'Intel P4 2.6 Processor w/400 MHz FSB',512MB RAM Memory,8X DVD ROM,'ATI Mobility RADEON 9000'(64MB Dedicated Video Memory),40GB Harddrive. This should get you through. Remember to stay away from those 'shared'(Integrated) video cards, they crash after two minutes of game play. 'Dedicated Video Memory' will keep on going and going, like the 'Energizer Bunny'! Very important,do not go over '512MB RAM Memory',using '1024MB RAM Memory' or higher, game will crash after two minutes. If you use '256MB Ram Memory' or under, your game will crash after two minutes. Remember,'512MB RAM Memory' is ideal for high-end gaming.

THIS GAME ISNT WORTH IT

this game is full of bugs that BVI wont fix and refuses to even look at. no one plays it any more because of all the bugs and BVI's non support for the game. i say spend the 20 bucks on a better game.

You know, Tron's not some kind of simulator, so why not cut the fat and just make it a game? The gameplay seems to be more about reading emails, budgeting "subroutines" (jumping higher, etc.), and "disinfecting" yourself than it is about combat. The real action does remind me of the movie, but it feels pretty cheap. It looks good, though.

The game's buggy, too. I might not understand everything about the game, but I'm pretty sure that having my disc (primary weapon) vanish every other time I use it is a glitch, because it magically reappears every time I go to an options screen and back. In the game's defense, that was the most frustrating thing about it. *edit-> I finally restarted the game from the beginning, and this problem went away.

Not a bad game when it works, but not as novel as I expected. If it didn't look and sound like Tron, it would be very forgettable.

The best game ever!!!!!!!!!!

This game is the best first person shooter ever (except for HALO)!!! What happens is that you get beamed into the computer for a reason you will only find out if you buy the game, and get imersed in a 3-d world inside the computer that somewhat reflects ours. Programs take form of humans except they have blue, purple, green, orange, or pink skin. It is realy hard at the begining, but gets easier as you get better. Whats really fun is all the weapons you get to choose from and how uniqe they all are. For example, one of my personal favorites is the disk which is a cyber frisbee that you can throw at mean programs and use it to slice thru enimies as well. Its not gory at all becaus if you destroy a program, you see a big flash of 1s and 0s and. The game also implies the usage of currnet computer things. The game has disk io, arcive bins, e-mail, severs, the internet, spam filters, finders, and corrupted programs (nasty green programs that are really mad and were regular programs that were corrupted by this CEO who got digitized and turned mad. the only thing i don't like is the quicksave feaure. If I quicksaved right as some ICPs (mean programs) were hurling their disk at me, my health when I reload the game would be the same as when the quicksaving ended. I would end up with about 4 health left (this really did happen to me and I'm still trying to defeat the ICP). Also, for some reason the game automaticaly quit right when I was about to destroy the ICP with 4 health. I don't understand. THe minimum requirements were windows 98 with a 500 mhz chip and 60 megs of ram. My computer has 800 mhz, windows XP, and about 500 megs of ram. Well, anyway folks, buy this game and it shal do you much good along with suport Buena Vista interactive

Very good, but not fully realized.

Tron 2.0 is a very good game, but this makes it somewhat of a disappointment. Let me explain what I mean by this. It does do just about everything right. It is a good (not great) FPS shooter. The atmosphere is most definitely Tron with beautiful graphics and the wonderful Tron "glow." The story is very good and stays interesting to the end. Now, what is wrong with the game then, you might ask? Well, it just doesn't quite go far enough. I think more vehicles (such as the tanks) should have been an option to pilot. Also, being able to switch to a third person mode, such as in Jedi Knight would have been nice, especially if they would have added a disc arena in addition to the light cycle arenas. The light cycles were fun, but weren't much more than a 3D upgrade of the original Tron Game. One last complaint is that the weapons were fairly lackluster, and with the energy drain, I usually ended up using my disc most of the time. All in all, this was a very good game and I would recommend it. I just wanted more from one of my favorites as a kid.

For anyone, who was a fan of the Original Tron Movie, this game is for you. It has an outstanding storyline and great gameplay.

Well worth your time.

I have played almost every FPS shooter that came before Tron 2.0. It is not the best of that lot but it should please you with its game mechanics and overall look. I have a Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz and a G-Force Ti 4200 and I could crank up the graphic options to the max and still have excellent framerates.
I wasn't impressed with the sound department though. The music is good but there was a sound bug with my Soundblaster Live. Nothing dramatic but it should have been taken care of since this sound card is very popular.
The RPG side of this game consists of upgrading "subroutines" and your basic attributes when you version number reach a higher level. You have to get permissions "keys" to open doors or crates. There are emails scattered in boxes that let you follow the story but I stopped reading those after the fourth level. I suspect you will be doing that too.
The voice acting is pretty lame but who ever bought a game because of the voice acting? There is a nice selection of weapons. The disc was my favorite along with the LOL (sniper rifle).
Overall, I would say that Tron 2.0 is a very good game with lot of action and is relatively bug free, except for that sound issue. Have fun with it.

Issue with windows operating system

I am still trying to resolve game-crash issues with Buena Vista Games. I have well over 70 games and occasionally have had to deal with these kinds
of issues. Not often, because I have a high-end system, but this particular game has been a time consuming headache to even get to run.
(something I still haven't been able to do!)Companies that code these kinds of games that take many hours of trouble shooting to even play should at least provide a higher level of customer support. I will never
purchase another game from Buena Vista Games, this was my first, and last!
On the plus side Amazon took my return and promptly sent me a new one
without charging me, your organization rates a "10" for customer satisfaction! Thanks much! Paul K. Guzman

Looks like a pretty good game

Tron 2.0 is a sequel to one of the legends that disney has unleashed--tron, imagine what it would be like living inside your computer as a good guy. Pretty cool! The Tron 2.0 demo is graphically gorgeous because of it's litech powered triton engine, the dynamic lights, bump mapped surfaces, high res textures, high poly counts, fast frame rates, and light wrapped around objects powered by haw t&L boards or programmable shader boards combined with high quality music and sound with eax advanced hd with the latest direct-x 9 technology with single player and multiplayer(both fun) allows this game to be a sure winner when it debutes! Hah!
