This game is awesome! I played the demo for Xbox and might be getting it for the PC. I didn't get to play long, but what I did play was GREAT! I went down some stairs... Jumped up and used the wall to stay up there... shot a guy and some lights... All in all, it's a GREAT GAME!

... This game allows you 3 different ways to complete a mission. You can run in guns blazing which usually gets you killed, use stealth and fry all the lights and disable all alarms before worrying about the mission, or try to make the alarms sound and kill all the enemies using a mixture of tactics. Distractors are my favorite part of this game, making enemies look away allowing me to take them from behind and escape a firefight.

This game is not very hard btw, if the demo is an indication. If you are careful and use your fiberoptic wire and thermal goggles.

I played the PC demo and had a minor graphics glitch here and there but didn't think anything of it. I gave the demo to 2 of my friends, and it caused problems in their computers.

I was so eager to get this game for the PC I shrugged it off. As soon as the game shipped, there was already a patch for it.

I'm frustrated right now because I'm roughly half way into the game and I can't continue because when the level loads the game crashes.

As for my computer, it's a clone, but a good one (Win XP Pro, 512 MB DDR RAM, 40GB Western Digital HD, nVidia GeForce4 MX440, DirectX 9.0, SiS 645 chipset, P4 1.7Ghz)

I recommend either buying a console version of this game, or waiting until all the problems have been fixed.

Wow! Do yourself a favor - GET IT!!

Best selling point of the X-box

This game is awesome. It single-handedly has made me a fan of the X-box. I was a PS2 owner until i decided to trade in the console and go for the X-box. This game has made it all worthwhile. The graphics, sound, gameplay are ridiculous. I felt like i had jumped from a 16 bit system after playing this game. Splinter Cell is revolutionary in its graphics. I have never seen a game like it as far as texture and lighting is concerned. The gameplay is smooth and allows for personal style as far as how you handle each situation. In many boards you can sneak around without detection or you can choose to just wipe out everyone and hide the bodies. It is hands down the BEST 3rd person game out there right now. And I used to be a loyal Metal Gear fan! But this game just set a new standard. I hope the PS2 version will be able to keep the integrity of the graphics and gameplay. Who knows? As far as the X-box is concerned, this is the reason the X-box was made.

Puts the Console to Shame

Splinter Cell is a finely polished game. Originally designed for the Console gamer, the controls for Splinter Cell will take some getting used to. However, with a few minor tweaks, the control works wonderful with a keyboard and mouse. The game is filled with many diverse mission types and multiple ways to solve each mission. The games main focus is stealth, and fulfills its purpose beautifully. If you were a fan of the Thief series by Looking Glass studios, this game accomplishes the same, and so much more. For creative and patient thinkiers, this game will satiate your pallete. And for those that get frustrated, the game does allow for blatant run and gun tactics. A well balanced and complete game.

One hell of a game!

Splinter Cell raises the bar for graphics, gameplay, voice work, and soundtrack! My only gripe is that the game is a bit short. If you have a top of the line graphics card, buy this game and see the future of gaming video!

Stealth Enhanced!!

This game gives stealth a whole new level! I agree with most people this game makes you think, and look through the level a few times for medkits and ammo, the gun is used as a last resort though. I never run out of ammo since I knock most of them out by sneaking up on them. Listening to the people talking to each other can sometimes be hilarious! They sing whistle talk about their family. You can set up cameras, and put up wall mines and see the people fly! When the people see you then you hide, they say stuff like "oly, oly, oxen free" and "Come out and die" and [to his buddies]"He's over here" they say a lot more. You also have to hide the bodies or they will find them and pull the alarm, then you will have to rush for a dark spot and hide, if you don't you usually die. You also have to defuse bombs or wall mines in some missions. There are fifteen super realistic missions and you can download new ones from X-Box Live. I give this game a 10 and if I could I'd give it a 10,000,000! The graphics are 10, game play 10, and sound is 10, the best I've heard, Concept 9.9, Difficulty is medium. Overall AWSOME!!!!!
