For those who don't know what Turok is, here is a short describtion: One of the best first person shooters on any console. It is about a hunter who uses tons of weapons to kill dinosaurs, simple. Now the Gamecube version will hit on september and it looks awesome. I saw on a video that you could use a flying device and many massive weapons. It also includes a very fun and addictive mulitplayer in which you can choose more than 8 characters. The graphics look fantastic, as well as the world and nature effects (sounds that make you feel you are actually in a jungel). This is going to be A DEFINITE HIT AND A MUST HAVE!!
Great game once you get past the first few levels

Warning! If you have this game but have only tried the first couple of levels, read this before you decide to return it to the store or put it up for auction.
I opened Turok yesterday, put it into my Gamecube, played for about an hour, and got a horrible feeling of regret for buying this game before trying it out first. I was on the verge of putting it on Ebay. These levels are terrible, and quite possibly some of the most painful gaming moments I've ever had. I decided to bite the bullet and play out the first 2 chapters anyway. Then things got much, much better.
Apparently, chapters one and two (each with 3 to 5 sub-levels) are designed to ease you into the controls and mechanics of the gameplay- they are designed poorly, the computer AI is atrocious (they just stand in one spot firing a steady stream of bullets until you shoot them down), and overall they are just a chore to play through.
From chapter three on, however, things change. The levels are bigger, the difficulty gets a boost, and the computer AI gets unbelievably smart- the soldiers and animals react in a realistic way, and you'll never see the same pattern of combat more than once. They hide behind rocks, kill dinosaurs to use as cover, and will occasionally gang up on you when your life meter gets too low. It's very similar to the AI in Halo. Amazing. Also, there are plenty of weapons to choose from- my personal favorite is the sniper rifle.
My point- give this game a try, and don't judge it based solely on the first few levels. Trust me- it will get exponentially better as you play, and the fun factor goes through the roof.
i would give it 30 stars if i could

got the game 3 days before the release and man is it fun, you have so many weapons (in th ebeginning you only have a few but you pick more up as you progress through the levels) the multiplayers is amazing ( there are so many options of what to do, there are like 15 multiplayer modes, all which are completally different), and the graphics are amazing. THe computer is so smart, and the ai is incredible. Also, the missions are really fun, challenging ( its pretty easy in the beggining) and are relatively long but not Halo long ( Halo missions take like an hour each).
Also each weapon has a special mode ( or two extra modes) some of the weapons include battle axe, bow and arrow, shotgun, pistol, sniper rifle, rocket launcher, grenades, proximity mines, photon cannon, gravity disrupter, and many more.
If you are a parent and are looking at this game for your child, dont be allarmed by the heavy gore in this game because you can toggle on or off the gore in this game ( so you can make the enemies not bleed when you shoot them).
THis is a great game and you have to buy it, in my opinion it is as good if not much better than Halo.
If Turok: Evolution is your 1st FPS, you might just love it.

I've never gotten deeply into the First Person Shooter genre. Why did I buy this game, then? I looked at the Turok website and liked what I saw, so I took a gamble. For my money, that gamble paid off.
Turok: Evolution places you in a fantasy world--make note of that, especially those who whine about hurting poor defenseless dinosaurs. When you see four tons of Anklosaurus equipped with rocket launchers (we're remembering we're in a FANTASY WORLD, aren't we?) bearing down on you, your qualms about firing a few rounds into a dinosaur fade rather rapidly. As for the other dinos--if they don't attack me, I don't attack them. (You don't have to either.)
The game gives you two levels to get a feel for the FPS controls and the flying controls (slightly different, but easy enough to become familiar with), then you're into the thick of the action. As I've mentioned, I don't have much FPS experience, and Chapter 3, part 2, took over ten hours to beat. Sometimes I made stupid mistakes, sometimes the dinosoids (humanoid dinos w/armor and weapons) did me in. Through persistence and by learning from my mistakes, I made it. What's so great about Turok: Evolution--it's a challenging game, and it's fun to boot.
There are things to consider if you're a hardcore gamer--Acclaim did not provide a multiplayer mode that allows one person to fight the computer ("bots"); On some levels, some of your weapons are restricted, which adds to the challenges; If you replay a level you've completed, the AutoSave function is turned off (essentially making it impossible to replay a level to find something you might have missed (and need to use later) unless you restart from the beginning of the game). If you can get over those issues, you may enjoy this game a lot. I did.
Parents take note: There is a setting to turn off the violence (which is copious), but if your child is playing, he controls the controller and could easily turn the violence right back on.
If you're buying this for a child under 17, watch as they play to see if it's right for your child. I won't be letting any of my nephews (12 and younger) watch or play it.
Turok: Evolution is great fun, challenging, and very bloody. It's rated M for Mature.

Early in the year, I was skeptical about Turok based upon some very early Quicktime movies I'd seen at IGN.com. However, when I saw the game at E3, I was completely floored. While the beautiful textures and top-notch audio were to be expected, the A.I. is better than anything I've seen before. It was already breathtaking, and just think how much better it will be in September at launch!
I must confess, this game looked significantly better than Metroid Prime. This is the one FPS to own this fall -- and yes, Metroid is a FPS, not an adventure game :) I've pre-ordered my copy of Turok, and I suggest you do likewise!

The fourth game in the series. This game doesn't only have fps you can pilot a Quetzalcoatlus and shoot down enemie fliers or fight with a group of humans. Since I've played it on all the systems GC's controller is great for this game the XBox pad is so huge it's hard to fire the gun with it and PS2's conroller is alright except for movement but since GC has a new item that allows you to connect you PS2 controller to the GC there's no problem. Gun's get a great upgrade like attachments to your weapons. The enemies got smarter to they take cover and will run like cowards or give up. There are less cheats to unlock to. There are some problems, loading times are so long (on all the systems their long) and health gets drained like water in a bathtub. If you can live with those cons you'll love this game!
cool o rama a GET IT

This game is defiannlty worth a purchase. I was lucky enough to pick up a copy 3 days before its supposed release, and it is utterly awesome. Graphics are great, beautifully detatiled dinos and plants make for great playing environments, while the weapons and gore and to the fun factor, which is also very high. The multiplayer is also very fun and can keep you going for a long time. My only complaint is that the loading tiem are a little to long but its worth it in the end. Go buy!
