Number 1 RPG on the cube

Xbox=Elder Scrolls
Game Cube=Tales of Symphonia

Thats right, every console has its defining RPG and now the cube has its defying RPG and the name is Tales of Symphonia, not only its and awesome RPG with good music, effects, graphics, sounds, attacks, story, and cinematics, its also got this totally new (one year old) battle system that makes this game be what it is.

It is beatifuly made having in thought how hard the anime type graphics are so hard and expensive to do, this game is good that you have to have it to know what does heaven really means.

I did this review now because just a week ago I received this game and I love it, I mean, tell me how many games have about 80 hours of gameplay, that is to much in this days (games in the previous generation were larger).

In all, this game must be the number 1 must have game for the cube along with Baten Kaitos, Phantasy Star 1 and 2, Skies of Arcadia and The Wind Waker. This and the upcoming Zelda and Starcraft Ghost are the best games on the cube for me.

But other than that a solid rpg for the gamecube platform. While the fight system is somewhat different from other rpgs out there it unfortunately tends to be a bit more repetetetetetetive as well. Having a somewhat decent plot this game is heavily sellable on its graphics alone, beautiful cel shading that is the future of gameplay today. Representing the true beginnings of american and japanese animation and ideology. Hopefully Nintendo can continue to put out such great games as this and expand their library to include gamers of all ages.

This game is quite possibly the best game ever. Only the legendary Chrono Trigger ties with it as the best video game ever created. Tales of Symphonia has many, many pluses. First of all, the storyline. Simlpy AMAZING! So incredibly detailed and character developed, within a few hours you will really begin to care for and develop a relationship with each character. Next, the battle system. Really, really fun. It may be somewhat hard at first, but it's really fun to use, so you won't get bored with it (it's a real time RPG battle system, and well done). Also, the battles aren't random, you can see the baddies. Nest, the music and voice acting. Very well done. The music (by Ichiko Furukawa and Makoto Tonosu) is very, very good. And the voice acting, superb. All in all, I'd give this game a 9.5 out of 10 (not enough of the anime cutscenes!!). It will provide you with a good 50+ hours on your first time through (this game has AWSOME replay value with all these things you can carry over to your replay game), and much more as you play it a few more times. If you haven't bought it, I VERY, VERY, VERY much so suggest you do.
You won't regret it.

This Is A Great Action Game! With 8 Characters And Tons Of Hours Of Gameplay, This Is Easily My One Of My Favorite RPGs (My First Being The Final Fantasy Series)Another Cool Thing About This Game Is The Skill System, Cooking Recipes, And Huge World Maps.(Yes, there Is More Than One World Map.) :D

THIS GAME IS AWSOME I MEAN RADICALY SHACKING THE HOUSE DOWN AWSOME!!!

I like this game because it has a nice story (slow but rewarding) and the fight is very unice you can: a. keep hit a for combos. b. use magic. or c.use do both (very rewarding) nice differance in caractors and it is one of the only gamecube games thats a REAL rpg if you can use this info , great if not oh well

just get the game !

If you're a fan of RPGs, you need this game. This game is all about gameplay. The story isn't anything special, but the battle system is really unique and fun.
The grapics are cel-shaded and look great, and the character design is done really well.
This is the best RPG I've played in a long time. Solid.

I'm absolutely speecheless. This game took my breath away. I don't even wan't to know how long in total i've played it, but i've beaten it at least 5 times buy now and i still can't stop! Other people's reviews covered the game really well, so I've decided to describe some of the main characters to you.

***WARNING!!! MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!!!***

Lloyd Irving Weapon:Twin Blades Origin:Iselia
Lloyd is a couragous and adventures youth who is extremely caring and protective of his friends. He's the main hero in the story. He can take things for granted at times, and tends not to use his head very often, although his friend Genius makes up for that. He hates to see people suffering, and dreams of a world where descrimination does not exist, and everyone lives a comfortable life. Lloyd was raised by a dwarf after his parents where killed. He has feelings for Collette, though he's shy about admitting it.

Collette Brunnei Weapon:Chakerums Origin:Iselia
Collette is one of Lloyd's besst friends and classmates. She can tend to be clumsy at times, and a bit air headed, but she has a heart of gold. She will always help ease a suffering person's pain, and will do anything to complete her mission as the chosen, and save the world, even if it means giving up her life! Collette tries to see the good in everything, and her optomistic mood helps keep the group together, and prevents fights from breaking out.

Raine Sage(My Favorite) Weapon:Staff Origin:Heimdalle
She is the proffessor in Lloyd's school, although she's not that much older, and is admired by many males. She has a love for ruins and basically anything she can study about. Raine is Genius' older sister, and can sometimes be harsh towards him when he's being careless, but this is just her way of showing her affection. Whenever Lloyd of Genuis does something she doesn't find suitable, she smacks them!(a little discipline never hurt anyone) Although she's a half-elf, she tells everyone she's a pure blooded elf (Half elves are greatly discriminated against, especially in Te'thealla). She serves as the group's healer. Anyone who thinks Raine and Kratos should tottaly be with eachother forever, say i ;)

Genius Sage(2nd favorite) Weapon:Kendama Origin:Heimdalle
Genius is highly intelligent for his age, and has been Lloyd's best friend for a while. Genius never really plays a major role on the story line, and is mainly just there for comical purposes. Genius develops a total crush on Presea as soon as he see's her,and has a hard time even speaking complete sentances in front of her, usually making a fool of himself. For a kid his age, he doesn't complain very much, and is usually cheerful, unless mocking Lloyd. Genius is a powerful magician, destroying enemies with all sorts of different elemental attacks.

Sheena (Crazy Japanese name) Weapon:Magic infused cards Origin:Mizohu
Sheena's also one of the more comical characters, like Genius, but also plays a huge role in the story. She can perform the art of summoning, to bring forth Summon Spirits to aid them after making packs with the specific summon spirits. This helps the group unravle the mana links, and obtain the Eternal Sword. Sheena tries to assassainate the chosen, to regain her honor in Mizohu, and make up for her past sins, which constantly haunt her. Although Sheena probaly could use a few anger management classes, She does have a feminine and caring side to her. I personnaly think Sheena should be with Lloyd rater than Collette.

Presea Combatir Weapon:Axe Origin:Ozzette
She shows no emotions or feelings, and her reaction time, except for in battles, seem to be subdued. This is caused by the experiment she underwent by a half elf named Kate to see haow to grow and manifest Cruxis Crystals. Also because of this, Presea lost about 16 or so years of her life, causing her to look much younger than she really is. She want's revenge on Rodyle and Varley for her sister's death. Presea is like a tank in battle, High attack and defense, but ver low mobility and speed.

Regal Bryant Weapon:Greaves Origin:Altamira
A convict, serving time for the crime of murder. For such a seemingly calm and peaceful man, it's amazing he actually killed Alicia, Presea's sister and Regal's love. Alicia asked him to kill her because she had been turned into a monster. Regal when to jail on his own accord. Even after he kills Varley and Rodyle, he continues to travel with Lloyd and the other, untill he has stopped the use of cruxis crystals to toy with people's life. Regal uses martial arts in battle, although he doesn't use his arms or hands. I personnaly think he sucks.

Kratos Aurien Weapon:Magic Sword Origin:???
A mysterius and anti-social mercanary. He ends up being one of the four Seraphim, a worker for cruxis, and one of Mithos' companions from a thousand years ago (or something like that). He seems to constantly be switching who's side he's on, you'rs or Cruxis'. There's another HUGE SECRET about Kratos, but i found that the coolest suprise in the game, and it's one thing that i don't want to give away (At the end of the game, it actually reduced me to tears).

Zelos Wilder Weapon:Magic Sword Origin:Meltokio
I really don't like this guy, so i'm not going to spend much time describing him. He's incredibly perverted, has more corney lines than Lloyd (and that's saying something), he wears pink and has a horrible hair style, and is very weak.

That's pretty much it. Those are the nine characters you can fight with throughout the game. I DEFFINITLY RECCOMEND YOU BUYYYYYYY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The hater suck. This is THE best game ever. It's even better than Final Fantasy 7 and Chrono Trigger. If you hate this, then you should be shunned. Everyone I know loves this game! I won't go into the whole pros and cons deal, since the only con I can think of is the fact that none of the glorious anime scenes shown before the title scene ever appear in the game. Besides that, everything about this game is great! The environments are colorful and awesome! The characters are lovable(except the ones who turn out to be evil). And Sheena is probably the hottest video game character ever. This is better than any other game, especially Baten Kaitos! UGH! Did anyone like that? Can I have a show of habds, please?
Anyway, get this or be shot. We're watching you...

Whoa! I've seen the latest screenshots, videos, and trailers of this and it looks like the best rpg ever! I even signed up for the newsletter. The storyline sounds pretty good and they said some of the game (like the dungeons) is gonna be like the Legend of Zelda. You have to move blocks and stuff. I am gonna love this game and you probably will too. The story seems great. Even the movie sequences are in anime. That will be pretty cool.

Anyway thats all. If you want to see some cool stuff about the game go to tales.namco.com, they give you videos, downloads, and alot of other stuff. I know you'll think this game is cool too if you look at it. And Im so glad I have a gamecube :)
