WOW! This game will definately make the original seem completely inferior. From the screenshots I've seen and what I've read, this game will be completely amazing. For starters, the one player game will be like playing an actual Nintendo game and will hold true to the characters. To reach Link's level, you have to go through a dungeon and kill monsters from the Zelda series. After defeating Samus, you have one minute to escape before her level explodes. All 12 original characters return, along with 8 new ones, (Sheik, Peach, Bowser, Ice Climbers, and 4 that aren't yet known.) This game will definately ruin people's social lives!

SSBM could be one of the greatest games ever in Gamecube history. It takes off from the first one with many more modes including coin mode where you play for coins, trophy mode where you buy classic nintendo character trophies with coins, tournament mode, and lots of others. Play with characters such as Ganondwarf, Zelda/Shiek, Link, Mario, Ice Climbers, Fox, Kirby, Samus, Bowser, Peach, Ness, Captain Falcon and MANY more! This game is sure to be a hit so buy it when it comes to stores.
I can't wait!!!!!!

When Super Smash Bros. came out, I thought it was another cheap fighting game. When I tried it, I was amazed! I wanted to buy it really bad, but my parents wouldn't let me because they didn't think it would last long for me. Now, Super Smash Bros. Melee will be my first game for GameCube and I haven't seen anything sweeter! I got a lot of info from the internet and I can tell you this: more items, worlds, characters, options, moves, better graphics and sound, and a MUCH better single-player mode!!! Now you actually have to get through a part of that world before actually fighting the character! When this game comes out, I'll be for sure to get it on the first day!!!
Da game rules!

I give SSB:M 5 stars because this time it has more characters, a better 1 player mode with (an all new feature) side scrolling. The new modes in multiplayer are very sweet! Some Modes are: Hit Point Mode(Where your character starts out with number of "hit points" and every hit brings his total down some, and as you may have guessed when you/opponenet lose all his hit points, then that person losses the game). There is also Coin Mode, More Items and a very wide variety of new levels! All and all this game totally kicks @$$! So I Very much so recomend SSB:M For one of your first games on the Gamecube, although it is coming out on December 3.
Sweet Game

I have been fortunate enough to play the game and it is awesome. The graphics are absolutely amazing! It is one of the best games I ever played. It is so detailed and percise. I think everyone should buy it. If you are thinking about Xbox then you have not seen SSB Melee. Could Xbox show the stiching on Mario's pants? Didn't think so.
the best game ever

The sequel to the hit game Super Smash Bros. will be one of the best fighting games you will ever find. It has everything that made the original great, all the characters, all the stages, all the moves, and then some.
New moves include defensive blocks and dodging attacks, new power and smash techniques, and several new items. New characters include Princess Peach, Sheik, Bowser, Gannondorf, and the awesome duo the Ice Climbers, among several others. Every new character has their own stage to fight on, and their own special single-player level full of special enemies to battle. Their are about four times as many multiplayer modes to use as the the original, and all of them are definite keepers.
Of course, if good graphics are what you are looking for, you found `em. Super Smash Bros. Melee has great graphics. Not as great as, say, Rogue Squadron II (also an incredible game,) but they are still the highest quality you will find in a fighting game. It doesn't have any blood or gore, and it doesn't need it. You can have the bloodiest, goriest game in existance, but if the gameplay isn't up to par, its a stinker. Gameplay is one thing that Melee has in spades. Super Smash Bros. Melee is going to be the best fighting game, period.
Very Good Multiplayer

This game is extremely good with multiplayer. But it is one of those unbeatable games with unlimited levels and trophies to collect. Overall a very good game to play with a friend or two
The best smash bros. game out in America now.

The original doesn't hold a candle to this one.
I know I'm years and years late, with this, but I had to make one sometime!
This game as well as the first isn't only innovative, it's addictive.
Fun alone but a blast with a friend or three. :)
I miss the days when me and my cousin could play this for 2-4 hours at a time with next to no breaks!
I miss even more when another friend would come around and although he would lose most of the time, the 1 on 1 on 1 matches were almost always so damn heated.
This game only brings great joy and anticipation of what's to come in 2 days....:)
Fun: 4.5/5
Game Play: 4.5/5
Sound: 5/5 (the orchestras are the best)
Multiplayer: 4.25-5 (depending on how many people)
Character Choice: 5/5
Replay-ability: 4.5/5 (after years of playing, or if it's only you and another, 4.25/5. it gets boring MUCH quicker.)
I don't have a Wii (or want one at this point). However, I'm still anticipating Brawl.
I hope it doesn't let us down! My favorite has been Peach since the beginning. Well, in the very beginning, it was Pikachu, Jigglypuff and Ness.
But since she was introduced in this game, she's always been my favorite.
She whoops tail and then sails gracefully away with her parasol. Kill em, Peach!!
End note: (update:) After looking at a review or three, I'm sad to say that Brawl, the newest entry of the series seems to suffer from a bit of lag on and offline. I find that so disappointing because besides a little slowdown every little while or so, SSBM played PERFECTLY. It worries me but I'll just have to keep reading reviews.
Bar none, the best Gamecube game out there!

This game is epic; simple, yet really challenging. It's easy to learn, and REALLY fun if you have friends or family over a lot. Just make sure that you back your memory up, since my card bugged, and ALL 100% completion of my SSBM memory was lost.
