I think that LucasArts did a fine job transferring JKII over to the Gamecube. The graphics are great, allowing detailed close ups. The cutscenes are just as good as the PC version. They even changed the levels around a little(not much, though). The fighting sequences are fast and dazzling, and without the jearkiness of the computer you can really enjoy them. And the multiplayer options are THE BEST multiplayer options I have ever seen! You don't even need a second human player! Cool!
The only downside is that LucasArts had a hard time transferring the controls over from the keyboard to the Gamecube controller. It took me a long time to get used to them, and I'm still having trouble. But the lightsaber makes up for it!
If you already have the computer version of the game don't buy it for the Gamecube, but if you don't, then go for it! I love Star Wars, and this game doesn't let its good name down!
Good, but not great...

In my opinion, with the exception of Rogue Leader, this is the best Star Wars game yet. However, that isn't necessarily saying much considering the fact that Star Wars video games are almost always really bad. Regardless though, this is a pretty solid title for both fans of Star Wars and non-fans alike.
My review is basically for the single player part of this game, because if you were really interested buying this game for it's multiplayer options, you'd get it on PC or possibly X-box. However, there is still a multiplayer element in the game that is entertaining as well as helpful, especially if you want to hone your Jedi skills.
Again, Jedi Outcast is a really solid game. You start off in your basic FPS scheme which is pretty easy to pick up. Everything controls well enough. Although not great, the graphics are above average I'd say. The music is flat out great, basically the score from the OT (Original Trilogy). Once you regain your Jedi skills, the game kicks up to a whole new level. I've never seen a more realized version of lightsaber fighting. In previous Star Wars games involving lightsabers, it was button mashing, and there was not contact between lightsabers. In this, the lightsabers clash and the sparks start to fly. The tiny nuances that go into the lightsaber fighting are truly amazing. I, for one, am glad that you have to *earn* the lightsaber (although you actually get it once you are about 15% through the game; it doesn't take long like others have mentioned.) The story is pretty good also and sets up the levels well.
On the downside, there are a few flaws in the game. For one,the cutscenes are horrible; poorly drawn and poorly animated. The collisions fields are weird at times as well. Another gripe are the controls when in 3rd person, it's sometimes hard getting the analog lightsaber to do what you want. I don't know if this the fault of the game or having to use a controller, though. Lastly, some of the levels are bogus. For the most part, they are excellent, but then the developers seemed to have over-extended themselves and created some ... gameplay that is just frustrating. The stealth level, the anti-gravity, and the escorting the droid are all poorly done and detract from the game.
All in all, I think this is a good purchase. It is somewhat hard, but personally I like that. I'd rather have a game that last then pay $.. for 8 hours of gameplay. This game has its flaws, but like I said, it still is quite possibly the best Star Wars game ever, it captuers the essence of Star Wars perfectly. If you are a fan of Star Wars, this is a no-brainer.
Awesome Game!

Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast is one of the best games I've ever played, coming close to The Legend of Zelda and other greats. The controls are different and take some getting used to, and the cut-scenes have poor graphics, but the game is awesome besides that. You start the first level, Kejim Outpost, with only a Bryar Blaster Pistol, but eventually you pick up other weapons such as the E-11 Blaster Rifle and Thermal Detonators. The story line goes like this, Kyle Katarn (you) and Jan Ors check out Imperial activity on an "abandoned" base, and discover attempts to artificially input the force into living beings. After the mission Mon Mothma informs you of a loss of communications from Artus Prime, which has several light saber crystal deposits. Kyle loses it after a tragic event (I won't spoil game) and visits the Valley of the Jedi to regain his force powers, unknowingly being followed by the dark Jedi Dasan. You regain your lightsaber and your force powers eventually return (very) slowly. You meet up with Lando Calrissian, and go on to Bespin and other places I have'nt reached yet. This is an awesome game and is definitely worth it.

This is the BEST star wars game released in a long time. i have trouble most of the time when im playing the mission (they are hard sometimes)but what it lacks in easy missions it make up for in multi player. in exeption to super smash bros. melee this has the BEST multi player that i have seen. you can choose all the setings like if you want to use the force, guns, light saber, time etc. you can also choose who your enemies will be for the round
you can also make custom force settings depending on the side of the force your on. go with the dark side! and you dont need another human player to play multi player games! some multi player games include capture the flag, free for all (ffa), team ffa, duel, jedi master and etc. the graphics for this game are very good and the control is easy. This is one of my favorite games and ranks up with some of the best of the best like smash bros. melee, the wind waker and lord of the rings. over all get this game it is great
This game will make you yell out im a jedi !!!!!!

I've played the pc version . It has every thing you've ever wanted in a star wars game, all the force powers and a light saber. The controls for the gamecube version is pretty easy after a while . R is to shoot and use the light saber , L is to use force powers, B is to open doors, A is to jump Left analog is to go up down side to side , and The right one is to turn around . Y and X I think y is to take out light saber , X is to crouch. d pad is to change weapons and forces. To downsides though no dismemberments and online play, but it has alot of reply. so it should be great.

I was kinda skeptical about buying this. I have played it on the pc, it was awesome. so i decided to take a chance. it was well worth it. the games graphics are just astonishing, and the framerate is perfect. One of the major drawbacks i thought was the online multiplayer capability. but this game makes up for it with the addad bots. you can have 2 humans and ten bots at a time playing, whichc is very fun. If you are looking for a great multiplay game this is it, i mean how fun could it be, u and a friend with lightsabers slice the... out of someone and the force powers make it even more enjoyable. This and Kelly slater's pro sufer are by far my favorite games. That is why i give this game a 5.

This game is amazing. If just getting a lightsaber alone wasn't enough, this game gives you even more. The force powers are really fun to use. On top of that the graphics are very realistic right down to the scar marks from the lightsaber. It has twists turns and a bunch of suprises, such as dark jedi jumping out of no where to fight you. It really keeps you on your toes. I couldn't stop playing it. This is by far the best star wars game ever. If you don't at least rent this game you'll be missing out on a lot of fun.

First off, i would like to point out that this is the best Star Wars game i have ever played. It includes 1st and 3rd person modes using mnay weapons including your lightsaber which you have the option to use as you please after the 3rd level or so. There are many force powers which work amazingly well (i was skeptical at first) and can be upgraded, such as Speed, Jump, Lightning, Healing, Protection, and Force push\pull. The game is long and very hard to beat without some help from a buddy or players guide. The lightsaber movement and fighting is very realistic and fluid. Though the AI seems to have the advantage at first, if you can learn to use your saber as a true Jedi no one will stand a chance. The game story, makeup, and graphical detail are all absolutely brilliant. If you are not the observant type, you will have a harder time with some of the levels noticing small air ducts or pipes which you can travel through. As the title says.....this game is BEAUTIFUL! BUY IT!

I am an old gamer. I remember when pong first came out. We have come a long way. This game is everything I hoped and more. It has raised the bar in my mind for all future games. The minute ability to control Kyles environment was perfectly rendered. The 3 dimensionality was intuitive. I have been disapointed countless times by the stunning "3 dimensional" games that the industry has produced. Movement in these worlds has been disembodied at best. Kyle can turn look and run simultaneously. He can fire and run in different directions. very few 3 dimensional games capture this well. I would highly recommend that all game designers study this game.
THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

I'm 13, but it's easier to use the kids review....
This game is awesome! If you are a star wars fan, you have to get
this. You can do jedi arena and choose from like 6 games, like 15 places, and who knows how many characters! You can customize your character and change stuff such as lightsaber color, force powers and physical abilities. Sadly, there are no vehicles, but this game makes up for that in weapons. It's very entertaining to use grip and hold a guy up,....and then throw him down some stairs or a pit!!!! You can do multiplayer without 2 people, I do all the time and it's just as good, considering the
AI(artificial intelligence) bots. The bots make it very realistic, you can have tons of them and they make the battles fun, being so unpredictable. They will snipe you or sneak up behind you, and they respond to the weopon choices you make and such.Try this game, it's a great game, trust me!!!
